    Again, you are a dam fine saw man. I believe it's awesome. If it's for sale let me know. Nice work & very interesting. I'm 71 so long-lasting ain't an issue. I need a 28 " bar and that's the perfect power head. Alright. My next project is a 365 special to 372. Been reading & pretty sure it will be an easy upgrade to 372. Good job. Really nice. Later.

    If there’s any interest…
    Are you kidding me?? This is an awesome build. If the 55 has the perfect chassis… sorry had to admit my allegiance.. anyway the 359 is too. It’s a perfect areal saw I’d hang it off my belt climbing or imagine this in a bucket blocking down massive chunks. This is the perfect 1 saw plan. Buckin’s got a 32 on his and where I’m at you don’t need a more than a 28” so from stumping to limbing I’d say this chassis and that power plus it’s a Ferrari… so what’s not to love.
    If there’s any money left in the economy I’ll come see you when I get it

  • @230e4
    @230e4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice work! I really like this build! You are doing great at showing the progression of this build! It takes however many videos it takes! We appreciate you sharing your progress, workmanship and the finished project both on the dyno and in the wood. The finger ports, taking the extra time to make a carb boot intake work added icing on the cake. In your experience has there been an issue with running this wide of a transfer port causing the ring to expand perhaps creating accelerated wear in the plating under the exhaust port? I have been hesitant with running this wide of transfer openings with finger ports in a work saw for that reason. Also do you think a Red Beard saws small filter would fit without cutting the back out of the top of the cover maybe just the top above the filter?

    • @dynojoemods2764
      @dynojoemods2764  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm sure the fingers will add some extra wear, but I'm not sure exactly how much. The exhaust port is rather narrow to allow the piston to be flipped. The dolmar filter fits really well, but a small round one may be even better.

    Hey Joe not related this sick saw but you seem like the perfect guy for testing this. Do you think you could do a video on a stick saw comparing the Dyno results with and without a spark arrestor? I'm so tired of seeing the debates on the effects of spark arrestors on performance so maybe you could help put it to rest for folks once and for all

    What are you thinking on chain ? I think 325 would RIP I have a 257 it's clean but a total dog with 3/8 but 325 it pulls alot better in hard wood a 18 inch bar would go with the sleeper concept perfect if I ever meet up with you at a gtg with my latest greatest saw my money is staying in the old pocket for sure and dang if it doesn't look OEM one hell of a conversion.

      Running 20" 3/8 currently

    • @charlesboston1
      @charlesboston1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i have a 257 ..... it had no problem pulling a 3/8's chain ..... in fact the difference was very noticeable from the point of fuel consumption , it easily uses half the fuel , with the only difference being going from a 325 to 3/8's chain ..... previous mods where opening up the exhaust , 1 mm off of the roof of the exhaust port , about half a mm off the exhaust side of the piston , and about 1 mm off of the intake port of the piston skirt , and squish was at 18 thou .
      since then i went to a 262 cylinder ( which also needs a 262 intake manifold ) , a pop up piston , squish around 22 thou , 2mm off of the top of the exhaust port , reworked the bottoms of the transfers and about 1 mm off of the intake side of the piston skirt

    • @dynojoemods2764

  • @matthewbutcher203
    @matthewbutcher203 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Serious question what was the advantages of all that work to use a 372 carb versus using a carb block and 272 carb not being critical just trying to learn keep up the good work buddy

    • @dynojoemods2764
      @dynojoemods2764  ปีที่แล้ว

      I really wanted to use the stock filter elbow and linkage. Since the first round went that direction I stuck with the boot method. Now if you wanted to build a quick and dirty version of this you could use the 272 block and carb. Just remove the carb box floor and clearance the cases. The 272 stuff will bolt up.
