My mom was a gogo dancer there and took tickets. I remember as a little kid going there when she got off work. Sometimes we had to help clean up the theater before she and the other employees could go home. She had a piece of of film in her jewelry box for years that she claimed was a piece from “Deep Throat” when it played there
Wonder how Da Mayor determined that the theatre was a "nuisance", being that indoor theatres rarely become such, and she organized pickets & undercover stings. Of course, she free stated this was "the most fun" she had as mayor. Her idea of fun was to squelch 1st Amendment to the United States Constitution rights...her legacy as mayor was to force sexual repression on the public that even the "Good 'Ol Boys" she disdained (but who appointed her to Office) didn't find as necessary. Inexcusable.
Pussycat was a chain of adult movie theaters. We had one in Whittier, CA, that was taken out by the 1987 earthquake. It's still there but is the Starlight Village Cinema and shows regular movies.
I bet most people who land on this page are nostalgic fans of the theater.

Is this the one on 6556 Hollywood Boulevard?

the pussycat theater was a great place for men to go for their pleasure. some of the best adult films were shown at this chain.
hey she is entitled to her opinion! but ya it does suck that theater closed down, it sounded really cool!
Way too much headroom.
