Wow! You are coming right along. I fathered my two kids after my colectomy and ileostomy and having them did a lot to convince me that I was still the same guy I had always been. Babies are tough and having a newborn will be challenging---the healthiest person can get run down, so when the time comes be extra good to yourself. The great thing is that you will find that you are capable of loving the baby in ways and with a intensity you never knew was in you. Ultimately, becoming a parent will be the high point of your life.
I’ve had two children and try my very best to not give unsolicited advice to expectant parents. I have one exception, though, and that is to stock up on baby gowns! They are the absolute best! Especially when you’re trying to change a diaper in the middle of the night. No fussing with zippers or snaps and no folding a sleeping baby’s legs like origami to get them back into the legs of a sleeper.
Seems like these days everyone is using sleep sacks. My two grandchildren from my two sons are using them. I had never head of them until I had grandchildren. I used gowns for newborns and then sleepers.
Hi Maggie. I just remembered getting ultrasounds and having to pee sooo bad. I almost peed my pants because my foot got stuck in the leg of my pants once! 😂 Everything has changed so much since I was pregnant with my babies. That was over 30 years ago! I love seeing you beaming when you talk about babygirl and the pictures. I just love seeing you so happy. You both are going to be wonderful parents! So happy to see the furbabies! I love them! They're going to be awesome big sisters too!
Please make an Amazon registry! The fact that you feel bad which you shouldn’t makes me want to buy you something even more.. people are happy for you and want to show it.. 😍
Because she doesn’t need the financial assistance maybe she could put charities that support babies whose families need something and you could show your love that way.
@@Jdjustsaying most people have baby showers not for financial assistance.. But for people to show there love and happiness for the new mom and baby..💜💜
I'm glad everything went well with your appointments. And what an interesting ultrasound with her looking at the camera! Thank you for opening the package online letting me know you received it. I'm glad you like them. As I said in the card, I bought bath wrap up towels because that's something that you can have multiples of in case others buy the same thing for you. I hope you do make a registry available for your community to be able to get you things you need, too. It's as much fun for us as it is for you! Have a wonderful Christmas! 💜🎄
Check with your GI asap to get an appointment for fluids after the glucose test. You know your body best so be proactive. The only good thing about drinking the carbonated glucose stuff is that you get to choose the flavor. With my oldest, it was only orange, which is really, really sweet Fanta with an aftertaste. I don't think anyone feels good after the test, but with you knowing your body the way you do, I would also suggest having someone go with you so you don't have to drive after, as we all know that driving when you don't feel good just sucks.
that is one very annoying office/center... I would file a complaint with them about their communication issues... it's not the first time you've had issues there
this! The fact that they haven't assigned 1 OB to follow your pregnancy closely given your history is annoying at minimum. The patient shouldn't have to jump through hoops to do the office staff's job.
SUPER excited that your insurance might pay for a breast pump, bags, etc.! We didn’t spend one nickel on formula and stick with it-it’s hard at first for most of us. Congrats!
I would be changing offices. My doctors office was all done at one time and all with the same doctor, what a mess :(. Hopefully the rest of the of your appointments are not as chotic.
OK, so here’s my thoughts on the whole registry thing you put up your PO Box people are gonna send items whether you want it or not so why not it be the items you need and are going to use I don’t know just a thought
Great thought. Maggie is so sensitive and humble that I were going to have to keep telling her exactly what you said…might as well just sign up for the things she likes and wants.
Seems like your practice could use a new office manager! Glad things are going well. I slept a ton in recliners and on sofas because I was so uncomfortable laying flat!
I periodically have trouble with breakouts on my back and occasionally shoulder area. When it gets to be a little much (aka beyond the abilities of CeraVe SA Lotion) I use Hydrocolloid Acne Patches which speeds up healing considerably. Not sure about actual directions, but I try to keep patches on at least 24 - 48 hours keeping area dry. Amazon has TONS in many sizes at many prices by many companies. Some even have patches in graphic-format like stars or hearts in colors?! Not my style, but I make no judgements!😉 While I do not actually know Maggie and Zach (or the canine portion of the family), I am still so very happy for all of you.
My daughter just had her glucose test done and failed, so she just had to do her 3 hour one, and she passed it, thankfully. She said that she heard that happens quite a lot of people.
It’s funny to watch pregnant mommas always touching or cradling their bellies. It’s constant & without realizing it. I did the same thing with my two kiddos. Mommy bonding with baby.
So excited for you!!! Half way there and that little miracle is doing amazing! You mentioned that you brought dried fruit for a snack. I have an ileostomy and my doctor said I can't eat dried fruit is that true? Sending hugs and blessings.
Scheduling things must be a thing all over. I am in new New York Way upstate New York near Canada and me and my boyfriend don’t even have a primary care doctor because there isn’t one that wants to come to our area and deal with what do they call it the hospital that kind of took overa lot of our doctors and primary care. People from here are actually moving to the local reservation because they are paying them more and it’s less work and they don’t have to rush through their patients like our hospital wants them to frustrating. I agree.
I would highly recommend checking out another couple clinics. You should not be stressed out by all this run around or new people each time that seems crazy.
I had to have a lot of ultrasounds with my youngest because I was high risk. I was able to see the parts of her brain and I watched her yawn, even got a pic of it. My kiddos diaper bag ended up doubling as my purse, lol.
There is no reason they can't check your glucose by pre and post prandial blood draws (before and after a normal breakfast). I finally figured that out with my 4th. I didn't feel safe during my tests with the oral solution because I felt very faint and probably had some vertigo, but I didn't know that's what that feeling was yet then. I just felt like anything could happen to me out in the lobby and no one would know. I had GD with baby #3 and not #4, but I am type 2 diabetic now. I had hyperthyroid with #4 (most likely for at least #3 as well since I instantly shed 81 lbs after he was born!), but I have Hashimoto's so go figure!
this is sooo exciting!! ❤ so happy everything is going smoothly! im currently 3 months trying to conceive but getting nothing but negative tests, so send some baby dust our way! 😂
As the mom of many, just a tip in case it helps you or anyone reading...make sure your vitamin D stays at a good level, especially trying to conceive during the winter. Most adults are low, especially this time of year. With both naturally trying to conceive and using fertility treatments, it was found women tended to have more success during the summer. They theorized it could be due to higher vitamin D levels during summertime, and that was confirmed when they saw the higher success rates during the winter for those who had vitamin D monitored and were on supplements. Our first 6 natural conceptions, I only could conceive June through August, no matter when we started trying, which seemed strange and more than coincidental. My OB, having read those studies, put me on a vitamin D supplement to see if that increased our chances, where having good vitamin D is important for us anyway. That last pregnancy was the first time I conceived during winter. I've had friends who struggled finally conceive after their doctor tested and supplemented their vitamin D, which had been low like most of us adults are. Good luck!
I'm in England & We only have 2 scans.. one early scan 11-14 weeks to check how far pregnant you are & one 18-21 weeks.. to check everything is going OK.. that's the only scans unless there's something wrong.. is it normal in US to have so many scans as Maggi has
Friday when I left work I had to take an extra trip to my car. We had a couple of Christmas things at work. Friday we had breakfast at work and Monday I took my toaster so I wouldn't forget it( I took bagels and cream cheese). And Friday I took everything else. And Wednesday we had snacks at work and I took some roasted pecans. So I had to lug everything hone Friday. I put one think of bagels in the freezer and I gave one to one of my nieces along with the cream cheese. And the one that we opened i left out. I don't eat a ton of bagels (im diabetic). They thought my sister has spina bifida. She does not, but that mean a bunch of extra ultrasounds and my mom has like four pictures of me and about 45 of my sister.
I guess it’s important for us to remember to pray for grace and favor before we go for appointments and out in public because this kind of behavior is very common now in the health care field… They just need prayer and we need patience and a favor from Jesus.
@TerriSiler-hv8in It always sounds bizarre to me as someone who has dealt with Kidney and Bladder ultrasounds frequently as a child. That oddly makes sense so I never questioned it or realized it was a routine thing.
