I love Sarek and I love this! Great video, I've watched it multiple times. I'm going to return to Sarek in just a few weeks, super excited! It didn't cross my mind that I could go up Låddebakte while crossing Snavvavagge. May I ask how long it took you to do the walk/climb from Snavvavagge to the summit of Låddebakte and back again? Thanks again for sharing your trip, appreciate the little map constantly showing where you are!

      Thanks!
We normally have 2-3 rest days when we are a big group and many are beginners. The climb to the summit was on one of those rest days so we left most of the gear in the camp and only brought lunch and the essentials. From the very north of Snavavagge where our camp was it took about 2 hours up and 1,5 hours down. It was only 500 m elevation and about 6 km roundtrip. But we took it quite slow and easy. Also we did not go all the way to the summit. That would have been an extra 100 m of elevation, but the peak was covered in clouds. We just went along the edge of the ravine "Låddebákte-rännan" and back down again.

@@RafaelJern Thanks a lot for the info! I fully understand taking it slow and easy. What's the point of getting out in such an amazing environment without enjoying it to the fullest!? 👍🏻 I personally like to photograph the landscape and when I watched your video I got really inspired, especially by your ascent on Låddebakte. Looks super cool, and the view is just stunning. Hope you get a chance to go back to Sarek and shoot more videos for the world to enjoy. Thank you again!

Hello Rafael! I really enjoyed your video of your trip through Sarek. I was wondering if you could tell me how you did the map animation? I would like to do something similar and it would greatly help to have such a nice animation as the one you used in this video.
    Thanks!

      Thanks!
The animations are made in After Effects. I tried many different simpler programs before this but nothing else I could find did exactly what i wanted.
I don't use any tracker on my longer hikes so I simply draw the route by hand from memory after the hike. I only save the camp spots to make it a bit easier. I draw it on the real Swedish "fjällkarta", they are available for free in very high resolution: www.bengt.nolang.se/kartor/
The big animation in the beginning is just a simple line animation in 2D. The small sideanimation are made with a 3D camera for tracking. I make the animation about as long as the final video and then import it to Premiere Pro and cut it up day by day, sync it to every camp spot by speeding it up or slowing it down. So on every campsite the map and footage sync. In between it is not exact but close.
This is the only thing I have ever made in After Effects so I am very novice. Everything I have learned are from this two videos:
      th-cam.com/video/7HdJVC4vQxU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Q_7Qp4ESISrtl19X
      th-cam.com/video/u6fSn08REec/w-d-xo.htmlsi=tyw9UEV7QviTdjUi
The videos are not exaktly my workflow but close. I cut some corners and adjust it for my purposes.
