- Biomass stoves are an excellent option for those who enjoy outdoor cooking and with free fuel. In this video I share with you the new and improved Silverfire Survivor rocket stove that cooks extremely well with minimal fuel. A setup like this would be great for a tiny houser that has an outdoor cooking area. Be sure to checkout silverfire.us for more info. on this stove and others.
I have an original Silverfire rocket stove and a Scout... I just love it to cook on my patio, it is totally enclosed so rain o shine I can use it. I live in the woods so I can never run out of fuel. We do not need a reason to get one of these they are just great all around to have. I don't even have a tiny house, the size of your house should have nothing to do with anything. Worth every penny. Nice video I seem to pick up a hint when i watch these. thanks.
My rocket stove arrived yesterday. Tomorrow I plan to test it out.
If you read the instructions, you're supposed to close the door at the bottom to improve the process of gasification , right down on top of the wood. Leaving it open results in more left-over debris.
So few reviewers seem to do this...
@@Thalanox Todd points that out recently
@@voidisyinyangvoidisyinyang885 Who is Todd? What video? It's been a while since I've been watching a bunch of woodstove videos.

Bought one many years ago and also bought the dragon pot. Tried it out myself. Essential long term survival piece. Why? First, can be used in a fireplace without everybody knowing you’re cooking food. Virtually no smoke. (Think cooking outdoors over a fire in front of people who haven’t eaten in days is a good idea?). Second, fairly limitless fuel supply. Third, extremely strong construction. Spare parts not necessary. The dragon pot is designed to very efficiently boil water with the stove. Both items, well worth it. Not a good place to save a little money on a knock off.
This made me want to go camping.
Nice, I will be getting one of these.
Okay. So the Jasmine rice took 5 minutes to cook. How much for the rosemary and chicken? And what oil did you used?
How would you compare this to the BioLite stove? The BioLite has the added cool feature that you can charge your cellphone, but besides that, have you compared cooking with these? I wondering which stove is more efficient cooking-wise...
Is the top of the stove made of plastic?
No, it is cast iron.
Im wondering , with proper care , whats the life expectancy for this stove ? has anyone had one of these for a few years or more ? ty !
I still have mine and use it often! Other than the resin on the bottom of the pot, it's still like new!
I see this is an old post, but mine is going on 10 years old and still like new. I have a renewed interest since propane shot up in price and sticks are free. It looks like they stopped selling them.
@@DAS-Videos Thanks for letting me know , I have two of them that I bought over five years ago and still haven’t used them yet. They are still new in the box. Been waiting for the “crap hits the fan” situation which looks like we’re inching closer to every day now. I didn’t know they stoped selling them, I haven’t checked the website in years..
Take care and God bless, and keep building that food storage ! =)
@@billnott5811 Propane is going up in price, but sticks are still free. That's what's great about this stove.
I am guessing that you could modify an empty coffee can (the tin metal variety) for much less than one of these manufactured rocket stoves cost????
Looks like a good stove.
Thank You
Man you can’t cook but I’m definitely interested in this for medium term (1-3 month) power outages since I’m now living off the hurricane prone Gulf.
Great product. Nice, helpful video. You need cooking lessons, however. Eek.
Chicken with no seasoning. Yuck. That rosemary and bland BBQ sauce was not going to do anything. Especially in a fry pan. Basically fried tasteless chicken breat. Get a Biolite with the grill attachment!!!
A RICE DAT LOL
Dont cost my 200 dollars to dig a Dakota fire hole
