In all honesty, I think their idea for these cables is pretty dope, but my only concern is how well the magnet would hold in a situation where there's limited space for cable management. It seems as when PC parts begin to get "thicc-er" it will require companies to have to develop new technologies/parts to support those changes. I would be hesitant as a consumer to adopt the system, however, it does seem very intuitive, much like many of Hyte's products. I'm not crazy about the basic, "all or nothing" approach. I built a new PC in the HYTE Y60 in December. A 13900K with RTX 4090. I bought additional HYTE fans so they would all be consistent (although it turns out the ones in the case are PWM but the extra ones you can order are not). I specifically ordered the "skinniest" RTX 4090, the PNY XLR8 to get as much space between the gpu and the glass side panel. The THICC Q60 would have allowed me to get any RTX 4090 without it being up against the glass. Seeing these new versions of the case and fans really addressed the only minor complaints I have about my build. TBF they are very minor as everything still runs cool as it is. But its nice to see that they are focusing their time in the right places.

@ Steve, I want you to know the air measurement being "latent" from the fan on the radiator is important and a critical missed point in your aio reviews. It produces a similar effect to measuring liquid temp, which consequently allows you to base fan speed off that more important and gradual metric rather than the random hysteresis of the CPU temp, in a water cooled system.

    • @Zanpaa
      @Zanpaa ปีที่แล้ว +2

At that point wouldn't it be too much hysteresis? Liquid temp is ideal for sure, I wish AIOs included a liquid temp sensor to control the fans.

I can see the hypothetical increase in the fidelity of the adjustment of the fan curves with the new inclusion of the thermistor, leading to supposed better cooling and sounds. I like the look of the Fan software too. Indifferent to the screen, because I don't care for it but I think people who do will like it probably... The thickness of the radiator, I like the look of. Maybe they should give a list of a few cases its compatible with on their store page?
Cabling is whatever, I would like someone to set a standard; this is just something that will be phased out in a few months. What I find weird is spending the resources and adding unnecessary cost to the end user with the accelerometers in the fans. The use case is a complete gimmick I feel.

60mm is kinda standard thickness for a good radiator anyways, 45 min IMO. The problem with 30mm rads is they only have one set of pipes in them which makes them quite flow restrictive. Just going from 30->45 doubles the # of pipes and potential heat transfer to the fins. Going 45->60 adds 1 more row of pipes.
30mm rads are a bit anemic and the reason why AIO's simply don't perform much better than air coolers in a lot of cases. If we start seeing some 60mm AIO's they are going to start pulling ahead of air coolers quite substantially.

It really does seem like a lot of people are trying to get rid of the old PWM fan header. Would be nice if they could agree on a standard to do so.

Hyte is making me smile every time they release stuff. It all seems like really nice stuff that I'd be happy to own.
I'm hoping for a full tower Hyte at some point.

Now that Windows actually supports RGB control natively I would love to see folks ask about supporting that, as going forward I will not buy any fan that doesn't let me control the lighting from Windows. I DO NOT want to add 50 helper apps to Windows only to watch them consume 1-3% x [whatever number of apps I need] of my CPU. That adds up for power use over time.

I guess the bad part of the thermistor is, if you're not doing a push pull setup with 4 fans, the better option is push and not pull which is the side the thermistor is on.

This is actually a really good demonstration of how and why youtube reviewers do alter their opinion based who they are reviewing and what they get out of it.
Steve didnt pick up on any of the problems with these Hyte products, like the barbs at the bottoom of the loop, he didnt pick up on the poor finish of the fan blades, the poor fit of the screws on the fans,

GN doesn't get paid to expose any of this their computex agenda is what appeals to them so naturally they'll be more positive. This isn't the place for a final review

@@alr6435 Yeah he did, which makes the water loop configuration and the paint finish of the fan passing by uncommented even more suspect.
He commented on other vendors and their poor quality, but not the Hyte.

I'm actually curious about this too. The last time I checked any reviews/benchmarks was more than ten years ago, and virtually all thermal pastes, aside from the really cheap generic stuff you'd get from an Aliexpress cooler, all performed within a degree or two of each other. And while that's technically measurable, it was within margin of error. I'm wondering if TIM technology has gotten much better since then.

About the fan sensors detecting where they are in the case to work better with the software... meh, neat, but over-complicated. If they would focus more on just the software to feature every case out there, with fan positions, temp sensors, other sensors, etc. and then let you run a setup with the software, like... have all fans running by default, stop one fan from spinning - select where in your particular case that fan that turned off is located with a visual representation in the software, and then spin it back up again, and proceed to the next one ... etc. until all fans and sensors are detected and located for the software, and then let the software "auto-calibrate" your fans according to different hardware loads in the system (maybe combine it with a load benchmark)... I would probably pitch in some money for something like that kind of software, that could work with all cases, fans, RGB, and sensors, than I would for something that is proprietary to one companies' products. Oh wait, that's right, aren't you coming up with your own software like this to solve the problems within the industry? Wish I could help make this happen somehow, but I'm not a programmer.

I really wish that manufacturers would get the memo that aRGB lighting is best used when creating a consistent color theme to the build. Like, yes, I get it, you're trying to demonstrate that it's *actually* RGB and not just a fixed light, but *we all know that already.* The consumers has already come to expect case lighting to be RGB by this point, let's start seeing some color themed builds using them by default. If users get bored of the color they can change it and to me *that's the whole point of them* with some of the fancy lighting effects/reactive effects being a nice bonus on top
