Hi, like the video. Two hints, you might want to check that the z-axis is perpendicular to the bed with a large carpenter's square or maybe a shelf... The printer's design has excellent adjusting abilities. If it is skev you'll notice in higher prints. Second, you may want to increase first layer's nozzle % print volume perhaps going from like 100 to 103 or so. Considering the bed has such rough texture it consumed more filament and your calibration was probably very good. If I had this printer I would be printing helmets and a few large vases in pla silk.
Thanks for your Informative video, I love the artillery machines, I have a Sidewinder X1 and a Genius here (first models). Since it has an all metal hot end and can print large format things, I would love to print custom car parts on the machine, made from materials like PC-plus or NGEN.
Looks like a decent option as a larger printer. Missing some modern features but I'd stick with PLA to keep things simple. I'd try printing some photography accessories.
Thanks for this thorough video. Just last week, I gave away my Sidewinder X1 v4 to a young fella not far from my home, because he is interested in learning more about 3D printing. That means I have a vacant spot on my workbench now and need to put a good printer in that space. As soon as I get my new printer in place, I will be pulling a whole bunch of filament through that machine, because I have some project requests stacked up to make for other people. I'm a woodworker (retired Industrial Arts teacher), so several of my woodworking friends need some jigs that are "naturals" for the 3D printer. Also, I'll be making some PLA-printed labels to go onto some boxes that are being used for planters...and a whole bunch of tags for my friends who are gardeners, so they need labels for their seed starting ventures, as well as labels to use for plants they make for the farmer's market. Yep, that'll keep this fella really busy. Many of the things I make are efforts to complement and improve several efforts going on in my city.. Lots and lots of "plastic" labels have been asked for. So, it will be my pleasure to crank those out for my community.
Great review. I was looking at the SW2 for $199, but this new release with Klipper and new improvements seems like it will give better prints faster. I would be printing larger models of my own 3d scanned hand-sculpted sculptures an designs.
Loved the review. What to print???? Its gotta be big... so probably go with a canister for olding kitchen tools (spoons, spatulas, tongs, etc.) Yeah, that will do it!
*Wow! This video blew me away with the quality and versatility of the Artillery X4 Plus. It would be a dream come true to become the proud owner of one of these printers. I can imagine all the incredible creations I could bring to life with it, from intricate models to functional prototypes. I'm thrilled at the opportunity to experience firsthand everything you've showcased in this video. Thank you for the detailed review and for offering this amazing giveaway! It would be an honor to have the chance to work with an Artillery X4 Plus in my own workspace. Greetings from Spain, and best of luck to all participants*
Loved the viedo, I think that sw x4 is great 3d printer, I was so excited for its announcement. I would print some boats parts for my scout team. I already printed some but my old 3d printer died.
That's an awesome printer and review. Thank you so much! Probably I will use it to print very huge pieces, largest than now I can print in my friends printer (genius one). That's could include some game inserts, and pieces for fornitures and cars... I love how fasters looks... Thanks again for your review!
I would totally attempt and fail to print a helmet of some kind, but then I would use that failure as a learning opportunity, and print another one, and hope I’ve improved
Very interesting printer! If I had this large scale printer I would use it to print large scale dinosaurs bones for my son, he is absolutely obsessed with them at the moment!
With a printer this size, I'd print some challenging kids puzzles that had multiple levels, kind of like nested boxes with different methods of unlocking each one.
I've been hunting to a larger format printer with Klipper, so this fits the bill. I would be building high power rocket parts including nose cones using this printer. Very excited to see the release.
Seems like a very nice candidate to replace my ender 3 v2 neo, which has been breaking down constantly. I’d use this new printer to finally print my decorative water wheel that i designed for my terrarium.
Been looking for reviews for this printer. Thank you. I would print helmets with this one. And some bigger functional parts, that I currently need to cut to pieces before printing.
This printer looks cool. I am thinking about buying this or Neptun 4 plus maybe x3 plus. I would print a boat (not benchi, a little bit bigger one ;) )
Great video! Thank you for taking the time to do that. I am looking for my first printer, and the X4 is very high on my list at the moment. I am into RC cars and trucks, so my first prints would be bolt on parts, i.e., bumpers, skid plates, and structural parts.
Great video John!! Would probably print the eagle's head (bust) model. I think this printer would be a good run for that since it has a good size build volume.
Looks like an awesome printer , I would use a printer of this size to make all kinds of stuff but I'd especially like to make a pirate ship model for my 9year old nephew he would really love that
I just bought one. I've been using a Makerfarm from 2014 upgraded to an I3V and completely modded with a bed size of 180mm X, 190mm Y and 375 Z. I had it printing really good but it finally broke again and I'm tired of always working on it. The Sidewinder is going to be like moving into the space age directly from the stone age. Even the downsides of it are going to be upgrades for me.
How do you think the X4 Plus would do with solid bed mounts? I do not get along well with manual bed leveling. Is Klipper the full deal? Can one get in and tinker with Klipper settings? I love the bed size, display, and speed. I would be printing robot, robotics, mechatronics, and functional parts for myself. I need to print some Multiboards and such for my tiny studio apartment so I can have all my parts within easy reach.
Looks like a great machine. I would love to print custom-designed parts for hiking/camping. More immediately though, I'd like to print custom light sabor wall mounts for my daughter's room.
I like the fact that z-axis has supports, which were missing with very popular X2 model. But it's too bad manufacturers are still staying with "screws at the bottom" frame mounting system. I saw on Sovol S06+ it's done better and it's stiff even without supports. Anyway on that printer I would print many enclosures for my electronics projects as it seem to be good on solid walls.
I own the X1 and when you get these artillery sidewinder printers perfectly turned their print quality is amazing I never did like having to set Z with a piece of paper but I sort of expected that for a printer of that age, but I'm a little disappointed there still use this in 2024.
Interesting Printer. Nice that it has Rails, but why the Knobs. Like the large scale. If I had one my first print would be Westie. Something for the sample white filament.
I like the addition of the stabilization rods and the Spring steel plate ....but everything else. They added messes it up. The X2 was almost perfect if they had added those 2 features and a full metal hot end...... This is way more messy than their previous printers........ That cable system is absolute clusterf#@%...... I have an x one and couple of their x twos and they are way cleaner designs....... I do not know why everybody always b****** about the printer cables. That's what printer cables were made for. Never had an issue with those...... Really hope they go back to their original designs. So much more elegant and once the x two was dialed in works great There's still not a fan of the access plastic at the top for the spool holder little wonky......but other than that...... This seems like a major step in the wrong direction.😤
Nice review ;) I got X1 at home and using it for printing some terrain pieces for wargaming, but my main thing - I design and prototype my own mechanical keyboards and the large volume is awesome for printing custom cases - so probably would use that one for the same thing - keyboard cases... ;)
Looks like a nice, large printer. I would use it to print toys for Toys for Tots and Samaritan's Purse for Christmas - could fit a lot of little toys on that bed!
Lot of similarities to the Elegoo neptune 4 plus, but better in the ways it needs to be. I would print all of the things, thangs, printables, and more!😅
Pretty made review. A teardown would have been from interest for me, somehow. What I would print first? An inlay for my tool drawer, constructed matching with the tools. To store my tools in a orderly way. After that: Casings for my electronic projects, models (X-Wing, Tie-Fighter, Gunstar, Eagle, Star-Fury) and random stuff for the household would be on the list.
I am very interested in this printer, it seems to have some features similar to other comparable models, I like the rails, they seem more stable than some of the round tube rails. I am looking to print some models of Ships from Star Citizen, as my goal. Once I get some learning under my belt.
I would use the printer to print the myriad of adapters and holders that I need for my RV. Everything needs to be held in place when you are on the move.
Hello, I have the printer home... But the Slicer is verry bad. The settings are to low Speed and not much optimize and when I put the speeds up like you have in your video I get over extrusion with small parts and the nozzle scratches verry much over the printed surface. So much that the nozzle shoot the parts from the magnet plate. Can you post/show your setups I think you have much more experience with printer at all... Thank you very much!
I'm thinking of getting this one or the Pro. I'm not sure if I need a Plus, but it might come in handy one day so I won't have to cut and glue pieces together. I have so many ideas I need prints for. From tools, blinders, boxes, tubes for gardening, forms for resin for my fiance, even some chess figurines for my dad - he always wanted to have some cool and realistic looking chess pieces. I bought some filaments already. So excited to start printing soon :D
This looks incredible ! I am looking for a 3d printer that has a huge printing volume because my old wanhao d12 is broken and I cant print larges figurines...
Great information on the video I would use this in my business to print my Razor Stands and Shaving Soap holders this would be perfect for that plus my TPU soap molds
@frankthetank1912 You have been randomly picked by commentpicker.com for the giveaway! Please confirm that you live in the lower 48 and or the EU? You have 24hrs to respond to this comment. If you fail to respond in 24hrs, the will be another random picker. Congrats!
Super video, really informative. It'd be nice to know if you managed to get the first layer test to work correctly and how you did it i.e. it came off in one piece and not like a fly curtain. Love to make some really cool prints for my grandchildren, especially since they are into Spiderman and Dinosaurs.
The leveling wheels put me off from the get go, no auto z offset then! Those bed adhesives with the pads are a pain as they wear away well before even 10% of the adhesive is used, the spray ones are much better.
I just got a sidewinder X1 as a start out printer and 3 weeks in it messed up. So I'm in between getting a new one or repair. Like to print out marvel super heros for the kids
It's insane that they expect us to still use a piece of paper to set Z on a $500 printer in 2024... Seriously guys. EVERY company gets really close, then drops the ball.
I will print spools of filament, that way I'll never run out.
Hi, like the video. Two hints, you might want to check that the z-axis is perpendicular to the bed with a large carpenter's square or maybe a shelf... The printer's design has excellent adjusting abilities. If it is skev you'll notice in higher prints.

Thanks for the review. The printer looks like a beast! Live in EU and over 18 years old!
I will print toys for my kid, and DnD stuff for myself 👌
Great test, the printer is a development of Artillery X3 Plus, the company has potential
Oh a giveaway! 1st and best review out there! Many thanks for being straight forward like usual 👍
I would print some parts for my Volkswagen 😊
Looks like a decent option as a larger printer. Missing some modern features but I'd stick with PLA to keep things simple. I'd try printing some photography accessories.
I love the look of this printer if I would own one I would print a lot of helmets and nice big wall ornaments.
It will be my first printer, so I surely print tons of benchies. Great video.

The 3d printer is good I would print huge organizers and big usable objects for my store!
Nice printer. Great size. I like the full blown version of Klipper. I would print some bigger parts for pinball machines.
Great review. I was looking at the SW2 for $199, but this new release with Klipper and new improvements seems like it will give better prints faster. I would be printing larger models of my own 3d scanned hand-sculpted sculptures an designs.

New to 3D printing so I would learn to print all things possible with this printer
I'll be printing game piece holders for my board games. Like Settler's of Catan!
Great video!
Nice printer with nice build size. I would probably print planters & maybe some helmets.
Thanks for the review. I would print gridfinity stuff to organize my toolbox.
Great review. I’m looking to print RC sailboat and sailplane parts to build with my son.
Nice overview. I've got some home organization prints that I'd make with this printer.
Now I want one. Such good prints. I would print paint racks for my Vallejo paints.
Loved the viedo, I think that sw x4 is great 3d printer, I was so excited for its announcement. I would print some boats parts for my scout team. I already printed some but my old 3d printer died.

I would totally attempt and fail to print a helmet of some kind, but then I would use that failure as a learning opportunity, and print another one, and hope I’ve improved
I've been waiting for this printer to come out. But I would print an articulating robot arm. Or a full size Mano helmet. Great video!
Very interesting printer! If I had this large scale printer I would use it to print large scale dinosaurs bones for my son, he is absolutely obsessed with them at the moment!

Can you just buy a accelerometer and it be plug and play for input shaping?
Been looking for reviews for this printer. Thank you.
I would print helmets with this one. And some bigger functional parts, that I currently need to cut to pieces before printing.
This printer looks cool. I am thinking about buying this or Neptun 4 plus maybe x3 plus. I would print a boat (not benchi, a little bit bigger one ;) )

I would print helmets with this I loved my x1 and this is the improvements I would do to it
Seems to be a solid bedslinger. Great video! Would print a Mandalorian helmet.
Great video John!! Would probably print the eagle's head (bust) model. I think this printer would be a good run for that since it has a good size build volume.
My first real print job on this printer wold be a CanSat model for the high school students I mentor.
Looks like an awesome printer , I would use a printer of this size to make all kinds of stuff but I'd especially like to make a pirate ship model for my 9year old nephew he would really love that

acoustic panels in vasemode, looks like this printer makes some nice sides
Looks like a good printer, nice review! It would be great to have a helmet size 3D printer and be able to do some business with it!
Great video! with this printer i will print some mmpr helmets and live my childhood dreams of being a power ranger ahah
Great video! If I had a larger printer I would print more O scale Model Railroad train cars and larger buildings.
Great video! I would print a Mandalorian helmet.
I’d be printing tools and dinosaurs just faster than I am now.

I'm looking to upgrade to a larger build volume printer. This will be in the running. I will be working on larger scale sci-fi models for my prints.
nice looking printer. i would be interested in printing some acoustic panels
I would print drone parts and camera accessories
My new printer be here this Tuesday the 10Th :) The old man is making the jump into the 3D world!
i like it, would be too cute to print alot of stuff that i have on mind.
Interesting Printer. Nice that it has Rails, but why the Knobs. Like the large scale. If I had one my first print would be Westie. Something for the sample white filament.
My kids love printing and they have a pile of backlog my x2 can't get too.

It'd be nice to have a large build area like this. I'd print full cosplay pieces. Bummer they left out auto-z offset!
I'd probably print something for my mom. Flower vase or something.
Nice review ;) I got X1 at home and using it for printing some terrain pieces for wargaming, but my main thing - I design and prototype my own mechanical keyboards and the large volume is awesome for printing custom cases - so probably would use that one for the same thing - keyboard cases... ;)

Looks like a nice printer for that size and price range, maybe a different and less rough plate would be better tho!
I am very interested in this printer, it seems to have some features similar to other comparable models, I like the rails, they seem more stable than some of the round tube rails. I am looking to print some models of Ships from Star Citizen, as my goal. Once I get some learning under my belt.

6:06 the best c: Hello, after these 2 weeks, how is the printer doing? her sisters x3 have "bad" reviews
I'm curious if it supports Klipper plug-ins. Looks like a nice printer!
It is extremely interesting, it is a special printer which I would like if it were my first 3D printer, I would use it mainly for university projects
This looks incredible ! I am looking for a 3d printer that has a huge printing volume because my old wanhao d12 is broken and I cant print larges figurines...
Great information on the video I would use this in my business to print my Razor Stands and Shaving Soap holders this would be perfect for that plus my TPU soap molds
great video! Did you have a chance to try the fist layer test with another smooth plate?
Nice video, I really liked it. If I had this printer I would print some hardness tester parts and Iron Man costume for my son.
Looks like a great printer, to print helmets with. But I would print a R2D2, as a trash can just for fun.
Might be under-extruding on the first layer tests. Check your E-steps calibration.
I have the X3 plus and would like to compare it against the X4 😊
Great video. If I had one of these I'd finally be able to print some larger models like helmets and replacement parts.

thats soo cool. I always wanted to have a 3D printer. whenever i get one, i'll definitely have to watch all your videos for the tips.. sign me up haha
Not a Benchy. Maybe see if the 3D Chameleon can be adapted to it and do multi-color prints.
The leveling wheels put me off from the get go, no auto z offset then!
Those bed adhesives with the pads are a pain as they wear away well before even 10% of the adhesive is used, the spray ones are much better.
Beautiful filiment
I would like to design and print some custom plant pots and electronics enclosures!
I just got a sidewinder X1 as a start out printer and 3 weeks in it messed up. So I'm in between getting a new one or repair. Like to print out marvel super heros for the kids
Its a toss up between the Rocketeer helmet, or a large voronoi planter, or some shop organizers
If print very large rc jets!
I could see myself printing a giant benchy
I would add to my helmet collection.
Thanks for the video!!
I would print part that I have designed for work, home and friends.
It's insane that they expect us to still use a piece of paper to set Z on a $500 printer in 2024... Seriously guys. EVERY company gets really close, then drops the ball.
I really only have to relevel the bed like twice a year though.
This would be a nice printer to do gaming terrain
