That and DMCA laws makes it harder to be a musician on stream. You gotta work hard to build those communities. Some people lack the means to start up. But some people do start up after doing some white or blue collar work. Who knows, just keep practicing.
Innovator, professional, brilliant, humble, incredible human being. His introduction included no musical feats, but the fact that he's a husband and father. This is why he is one of the human beings on the planet I most admire.
The first song, What A Friend We Have In Jesus . THAT IS THE WAY YOU PLAY GOSPEL WITHOUT PLAYING A FILL AFTER EVERY LYRIC LINE !!!! WHEN THERE WAS SPACE THEN HE DISPLAYED SOME CHOPS, THAT MADE SENSE WITHIN THE MUSIC !! CLASSIC AND BEAUTIFULLY PLAYED !!!!
If you don't preach that!!!😂 Playing the pocket is a lost art with a lot of these kids today they don't realize "less" is more and don't let other players be in the audience ..Lawd help us! Forget the singer and the rest of the band!😂😂😂😂
I have been playing drums for exactly 50 years now (was 13 when I started, I am now 63), I studied primarily Jazz, Latin and Rock, having said that; 77 people gave thumbs down to this incredible drumming performance, I can't help but think that these 77 folks have to be extraterrestrial Phd drummers born with 3 hands and 3 feet straight from either Mars or Pluto.
I think that the reason for these thumbs down is the realization of the inability to play like that, and as a result, the desire to leave the profession.
@@cosmonatty4614 Yeah. It's an unfortunate response behaviour. I see this and I think, I can never be this good, but holy cow I can try! I've always been lucky to have that reaction instead, but it frustrates me to see so many friends who haven't built up confidence or skills give up before trying instead of seeing the sky is the limit if you give it your all. They see larnell, his final form, never thinking about the decades of honing...Sure he has an insane talent, but he also honed that talent. People, find your talent and hone it, then you won't have issues with confidence and little man syndrome, even if you are a little fish in a huge pond...Because you're doing the best you!
This is how a drummer should play, 1ST KEEP IN THE POCKET, 2ND ADD JUST. A LITTLE SPICE HERE AND THERE. 3RD WHEN ITS YOUR TIME TO SHINE SOLO WITH FIRE WHILE STAYING IN THE POCKET. Larnell you are showing other drummers who don’t know, how to get and keep a gig. Great job!
This is eons ahead of the pack. I realize now after all these years of playing that I have been teach 1st and 2nd grade drumming. This guy is a University Professor of Drumming!
I am literally in the middle of taking an online exam atm. Figured putting some Larnell on in the background would make for good midterm music. Nope. I keep switching over to watch his brilliance.
I feel so lucky having witnessed the mad skillz of the great Larnell Lewis! The musicality and creativity is overwhelming. It puts a big smile on my face. Thank you!
Maaaaaaan! That delay solo (10:38 - 15:35) is TAAAAAASTTTEEEE! and it goes straight into that FAAAAAATT groove part solo......(until 18:43) .........and than he plays this great marimba solo from his pad (til 21:55)...... what a great musician !!!!!!!!
Thank you soooooooo much for all the videos of the greatest drummers at your beautiful festival! Ash Soan, Thomas Lang, Zach Danziger and now Larnell.......... so much inspiration and information.....a dream!!
God Bless You Mr. Larnell Lewis. I especially like the introduction : What a Friend Faithful and Tender We Have INn Jesus Christ. Be Blessed My Brother. Praise God with tambourines. It is Written.
I love trying to replicate drummers setups and what’s great about Larnell’s Setup Is That nothing is custom gear except his in ears. I think him and Alex Acuna Are The Two Easiest Setups To Repeat
Just got one question who in the hell gave this brother a thumbs down! I guess they don’t have that it factor! Once a hater always a hater! This brother has my respect drum on my brother 🔥🔥🔥
Randy ThirdSun Lol not a chance. Listen to Carl Palmer. I have at least 20 other names that blow him away! I'm not saying he isn't excellent to be clear.
@@carlrest6553 I was genuinely curious to see what Carl Palmer could do and although he is very fast and skilled, I couldn't find anything as musically impressive as for example 16:29 to 16:36 so for my taste at least Larnell remains the best I've heard. But I love music more than anything else so if you have got another name or maybe an specific video please link it so that I can enjoy it
been a pro drummer all my life . now thinking about a career in accountancy . i cannot help but smile when i see this guy play. beautiful
Why are you quitting fam???
I think many artists are now quitting because of the plandemic.
@@budda777pl or they just quit because of Larnell lmao
I took you off 69 likes. Sorry.

Nah.....they’re just oxygen pirates.
They are people who either lack talent and grace, or perhaps lack ears and souls - I'm not sure which. 😆
Probably from Theiranus.
Larnell is on another level he knows how to make music, brilliant.
The haters subconsciously realize they will never comprehend his level of learning and execution, let alone keep up.

The arrangement of that final record is better than be did with Zildjian Live and Ghost Note. Both are 🔥!!!
This one here better than both, I listened to the Zildjian performance so many times I noticed the change.. th-cam.com/video/uHwfuFdYlRU/w-d-xo.html

Unbelivable right?! I sware he is the only drummer that can make that octopad respectable!!!!!!!!
119 people accidentally hit the thumbs down instead of up because they were so focused on Larnell.

Larnell, you're unreal
Epic Music...Tough crowd
Solid,,Tight ,,Excellent !!Cheers!!
Gospel at it's finest 🔥
Can't believe he played No Access with a 22" kick! :'D
It takes a lot of endurance to play at a high level for close to an hour. I wonder how long he has been practicing.
10,000 hours ;)
DrumAnalogy 1 this was his first hour ever playing... beginners luck
He has amazing technique so obviously endurance isn't a factor. Nothing he plays is forced, so at no point does he ever tire out.
he started when he was 2 and he's 35 now.
DrumAnalogy 1 he’s been practicing for 33 years so I think he’s good for 1 hour 🙃
What a friend we have in Jesus!!!!! Amen!!
Shout out to those "thumbs down" apparently super killing drummers 👌🏾🙌🏾👊🏾
🙃
Perfect like always
Fabulous drummer !!
Minha referência na bateria 😁
