Early in his career Julian felt somewhat "obligated" to play a couple Beatles tracks in his concerts as there were many older Beatles fans in attendance. His early concerts had to have selling power as he was just beginning his career. The emotional scars of John Lennon's murder were still fresh in the minds of many and the "Lennon" name was a selling point in the early days. still, Julian was always his own man no matter what songs he sang!
He not only looks like his dad, he sounds like him too. Shame his dad never lived to see and hear him. Or hear JulIan's own compositions which are also beautiful and right up there with his dads.
@@fshoaps I wouldn't say it sucks. Julian's voice only covers one small spectrum of his Dad's. Julian could never sing one of his Dad's more guttural songs like Twist and shout. But he could probably sing jealous Guy very near his Dad's voice. Paul son couldn't sing anywhere close to his father either. There's more to a voice than just the genes behind it. And even then, Julian only has half of John's genes. I am with you though: hearing Julian sing this song once is a novelty. Hearing him sing it a again would become torturous...
While Ringo and Paul are still with us, it really would be a wonderful gesture to have them play a set with Julian, and Dhani....I mean what's the harm!!???
OMGGGGG Julian is really soooo good😍😍😍 he is as good as his dad was.....well we know where he got his talent....wow im shocked....it feels like listening to John again 😍
@@GillsEllisyoungLifestyle Thank you Julian. Sorry that I am just seeing your post. From the first time I heard your voice singing, I thought you sounded like your dad. I saw the Beatles perform at Olympia Stadium in Detroit September 6, 1964. I was 13 years old and never forgot that date!! I was part of Beatlemania!! I am a lifelong Beatles fan and my two sons and granddaughters are too. They all grew up hearing me playing The Beatles songs. When you came out with your music, I thought you inherited the same talent that your dad had and you sounded so much like him! I was devastated when your dad was killed. My oldest son was 5 years old and says that he remembers me sitting at the kitchen table crying. It was such a sad thing that never should have happened. I wish you all the best and hope that you are living a happy life. My father drowned when I was 5 years old so I do know the effect that losing your dad can have on you. I still miss my father and I know that you will always miss yours. Again, I wish you happiness and love in whatever you choose to do. 😊❤️🎼

True, it is some great stuff. As a LOT of music from that era. So many GREAT records came out in just 1967! Jules was 23 when he did this tour (I'm pretty sure)....
Actually, on this show, the Valotte tune (Sitting on a pebble by the river), he plays piano on that. Pretty sure he did it on the record too. I remember him playing guitar and drums at rehearsals, but nothing in the show, just piano. Mmm, maybe I'll post that tune on here, it was a hit......
FORGET who his dad was (but loving how he looks so much like Cynthia) Julian kills it here, what a stage presence! I wish he would get back out there and do more music.
Well, Jules does have something new coming out and I'm sure they'll do some kind of tour for it. Probably smaller places unless the record takes off. Ya never know......
Oh, I am not taking anything away from Julian. If there were/are tough shoes to fill they don't come any tougher! And I meant about the vocal doubling on the studio albums that was difficult to reproduce live in those days. It was fun to see him do 'It Won't Be Long,' 'Day Tripper,' and a couple of other of his dad's songs. Felt strange sitting amongst all the teeny-boppers, though. Julian doesn't need a guitarist does he? ;-) Cheers, and all the best!
Do yourself a favor and buy EVERYTHING they ever did! It's all good! I forget which album that tune is on, but it's one of the first couple. We also did a great version of "Day Tripper" that didn't make it on the live video either. We used to do "Stand By Me" as well. Not his dad's tune, but he did a version later on in his solo career.
Julian is like Dhani with George. He is equal to John; i'ts a copy of john's face; he's looks more like john tah sean; i think that Sean tries to imitate to John
He has a MySpace page and a Facebook page that he updates often. He has some new music on these sites that will be released next year. He has also taken the collection of his father's things he bought back over the years, that Yoko orginally sold and has an exhibit in Liverpool called White Feather Spirit of Lennon. Go check out his pages!!
Learned a tidbit that I had never known before.....John wrote "Goodnight" for Julian!!!! Had never heard this!!.....of course Paul wrote "Hey Jude" for him as well...
Funny, I remember that!!!! LOL!!! And yeah, Glass Tiger too. Nice enough guys, they opened up for us at a few Canada gigs. No verb or delay at those shows. Didn't need or want it cuz the rooms were so live. Cut the boy some slack here, he was younger than his dad and not nearly half the live experience his dad had at this point. I thought he did a pretty good job IMHO.
Just a test, someone told me that the comments were disabled. So comment away! As far as Jules and riding the coatails, mmmm, maybe. But the crowds that would come to see us were all over the map, agewise. Lotsa kids that wouldn't know John Lennon from anything. Look at the crowd at the Japanese show, lots of younger folks.
NEWARK!!! Yikes!!! Nothing to brave in NYC!!! You've been to Newark!! LOL!!! NYC is way cool, I work there and is fine. Hard to say he'll hit those upper NY places, but if he's touring, he'll definitely play here. I live about 45 min out of NYC, so "here" is somewhat relative, I guess.....

Do u know what other songs he has done live from the Beatles catalog?
Nicely said.
He not only looks like his dad, he sounds like him too. Shame his dad never lived to see and hear him. Or hear JulIan's own compositions which are also beautiful and right up there with his dads.
I love imagining John's still alive and well and recording some tracks with Julian. That would be amazing
Woah, Julian, Dhani Harrison, Paul's son and Ringo's son could form the greatest tribute band ever!
Looking like his Daddy in the Cavern Club Hamburg days.
mylovofvideo It's probably because John Lennon never aged in the sense that he died young. We can only know what he looked like until he was 40.
We saw photos of John Lennon at 40 in highschool and most of us thought he looked extremely old. His son at 58 looks younger
Exactly.
And like 1000000 times less cool
Julian has a much better stage presence then John.
Julian Lennon is a lovely man with such a difficult legacy to bear. He's a credit to his own strength and that of his mother.
Where's this been hiding? It just popped up on my feed. I truly didn't think he sang any Beatles songs. Happy I was wrong.
On this tour we also did Day Tripper, which sadly did not get recorded...
Julian is so beautiful gorgeous handsome gifted & he sings this song perfect♥️I love him forever & always
Julian Lennon a awesome singer, and a great song, very talented.❣️
Good ritmy rock!julian lennon you are fantastic ❤
Good ritmy rock! Beatiful song the julian lennon
Damn! He's a spitting image of his dad!
Love how Julian embraces the songs written by John and Paul
Lennon never dies. He lives in his son. We love him!
Yes, are the same 😉👌🏻😁😁😁
Julian nailed this song. Great performance!💐🌹🎈❤️
He resembled John so much... But the voice, the voice is unique.
the voice sucks.

Julians so cool
Excellent cover
That is bad ass.. Thats a great track too.. THANK YOU JULIAN !!
i love julian lennon!!!
Love ALL the Julian footage-- can't get enough!! Thanks so much for posting it!

He is his son, the heritage to John's and Beatles fans.
Once John is not with us anymore, why not?
Julian was about 23 here, the same age as John when the Beatles broke big in England in '63. The song he does here was released at that time also.
A song his father made famous. He should have hooked up with Paul, George, & Ringo for a concert or recording.
wow, great performance.
I ❤ U Jules!
Live long, proper and rock on Jules; we love you and we love Johnnie!
Julian is amazing=) Love him soooo much!!!!
いいねえJulianずっと後世に伝えておくれ!
Thank you so much Julian for bringing back the good old memories of the Beatles and the song '' It won't be long..''
My heart belong to you...I 💖 U.Thank you Julian...🙏🙏🙏🙏
Woooooww!! Fuck! His voice, I don't believe, he sing like his father, sound like John live
Looks just like his dad and sounds good too! I love that beatle hit.!
Aaw this beautiful xx

absolutely wonderful.thank you!
That's my buddy Doug Worthington on guitar (with the big red hair). great vid. It's great seeing Julian singing his old man's classic song.
Paul
freaking awesome..
Julian, you do your dad proud that rendition was more then great, it was FABULOUS
Great band. His vocals are super too.
Timeless :) Marvelous :)
Wow, It's an old beatle tune!! Very old beatle tune. Glad ya like em.
Amazing!!❤❤❤
Cudowny syn, jakbym słuchała Johna ❤️👍👌
30 years have passed so quickly !
Looking just like Johnny. Never saw this before, thanksl
A worthy successor to his Dad and a credit to the Lennon name.
Awesooooome!
great cover of a good beatles song
Great performance he's got class
A credit to his mum and dad.
Hey, Jude! nicely done! sounds just like daddy!
That was very nice Julian! Dad would have put 2 thumbs up!
cool performance

Julian brings back the Beatles beat and memories of them...is like listening to John!!!
Julian is great and such a decent person.
Very nice!
Sounds just like John
Gotta love Julian =]
I would love to meet Julian and have a conversation - about photography.

Me enamoré :D
extra cool ! that he chooses this song.
Well, Jules does have something new coming out and I'm sure they'll do some kind of tour for it. Probably smaller places unless the record takes off. Ya never know......
Much better than his father. I love John Lennon songs but in this song Julian succced as well
Julian has the right to sing this. I usually don't like anyone else singing Beatle songs...only Julian and Sean.
He does, he always did. What people think of that is irrelevant, don't let it bother you so much.

julian and dhani and paul and ringo should go on tour
Actually pretty damn good.
I think this is a cool video of Julian reminds me of a younger John
I wish he would do a new album and tour.
He's working on something now, but as far as a tour? Who knows...
im guessin he still loves his dad and his work to do a cover of his music especially early beatles music.
