- One of my home lakes, Lake Ouachita, is hosting the bassmaster open! I am excited to see how the professional tournament anglers are going to come and fish the lake. I am going to share techniques and strategies that I believe will have a chance to win the tournament!

My partner& I fished a club tour there last weekend, we won with just under 15. At least 2 of your 3 areas were where we found them and with no FFS. The 3rd area was close to your #1. Lots of grass we found and did only 2 of the spots on the day it counted with clouds all day, started with little wind and ended with over 2 hours of rain. Shallow crankbait & topwater! Yes we found shad!
Awesome! I think the TB team derby last year was won without FFS. It can still be done!

This one could go many different directions, but I think you nailed it on the catching a limit with FFS and then heading to the grass!

So for that end of Ouachita there are a lot of fish up shallow right now. Senkos / truck worms is a start. Wacky rig or Texas weedless. I have also been throwing them on hover rig hooks. Appreciate you watching. Goodluck to you! If you ever see me at the ramp. Say hy

Is there a certain creek or area you like at Ouachita during this time of the year or techniques you would use? Coming down this weekend just curious what the bass were doing! Thanks!
I like a lot of the lake to be honest... I know that does not help. If you like to fish clear water check the north end creeks. If you like dirty to stained water then fish the west end of lake. A lot of fish are up shallow right now. Senko and soft plastic swimbaits are go too for sure right now. Now last week I did catch fish in 15-50 ft but those were during offshore electronic lessons.
