Sandra is probably one of the world's most effective shamans. She is wholly GENUINE - there are out there some fake shamans, but Sandra is a million miles from being one of 'em. She's an absolute treasure.

Thank you so much for your book 'soul retrieval' . I found it on audio cassette at a thrift store and it really brought light to an unguided and unintentional spiritual awakening I had experienced years earlier

"a direct path", this is very similar to zen in that you put your mind aside and just be. In zen, they often insisted the connection to nature as well, a famous zen poem says enter zen from the waterfall. I mention this only to illustrate the importance of putting your mind and thought aside in order to be more open to the greater spiritual world which exists beyond thought.

i agree with you fully. what i was saying is mst shamanic traditions use entheogens. i was replying to the other guys comment who said hardly any shamans use entheogens. entheogens are very important in many shamanic cultures, not only for the altered states of concioussness they induce, but some have ther medical benifits.

Yes..life-long. Whether anyone recognizes it as that, or not, that person will use their gifts to help others, to bring into this world, some kind of communications from the other world[s]. It can be in many different ways.

To accompany this, I recommend the video with this title: "Short Video on Native Spiritual

most shamanic traditions ive seen have some sort of entheogen for communication with the spirit world. i can name more cultures that use entheogens for spiritual reasons than that dont. infact, the inuit are the only ones i know of

Yet the inuit don't use any entheogen.

    • @Chimonger1
      @Chimonger1 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

[yes, I know...replying to fossil post].....Inuits DO use drumming, and other things. One does _not_ need plant entheogens. There are hoards of other possible focus tools, such as bowls of water, cards, tea leaves, repetitive body movements, repetitive and certain tones of sounds....all of which can trigger altered states of consciousness. One does not need to be drugged, to "get there".
Shamans understand certain knowledge, recognize altered states, and how to navigate those. Each one chooses how they do that.

Almost ALL traditional medicine men and shamans use entheogens(hallucinogens). look into it. entheogens are one of the central things in shamanism. its very important.

A shamanism that doesn't resort to enthogenic medicine work has lost a connection to its roots. the drums are nice & all but wouldn't it be easier & much more effective to just consume an entheogen?

Do you believe you understand Unconditional Love?
Do you understand that this can be done from a safe distance away from those who might cause harm to you?
Do you understand that Love is all there is, and that it is the strongest energy in all of creation?
Have you sorted out, via counseling, what the root causes of your fearful incidence might actually be?
Before you seek a shaman/medicine person, first do your homework. Learn all you can from seeking books and references to it. Read, study, go to events which include meditating, and learning what to do to handle what _appears_ to be an entity bothering someone.....it likely is _not_ what you think.

    • @treenafleming5691
      @treenafleming5691 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

If you are drawn to the shamanic path you might want to look into working with A shaman that can EXTRACT the entity from your energy field so that it may go to the light.

While you can certainly set clear boundaries, just like you would for anyone visiting your house etc. you might also think about why they are there..
Are they lost/stuck? (if they don't seem aware of you, or just seem to do the same thing over and over, they might be.. )
Are they there for a reason?
Do they just seem lonely? (in which case, definitely but kindly tell them they should move on, because they are *not* actually alone.. but just like the rest of us it can be hard to realize when you feel alone..)
Is it possible you are drawing the experience towards yourself? Have you been dealing with a lot of emotional stuff, and maybe want "someone to just be there"? (I am not making light of what you're saying, I'm saying they may be there because on some level *you asked them to*)..
I don't know if you are religious but don't be afraid to privately ask for guidance, and making very clear, in words, what it is you would most want to happen.
Symbols that mean something to you can help. It doesn't have to be religious or mystical.. Make it something that reminds you of something strongly positive, that reminds you of something happy, and that builds you up.
Sure, it can be a religious item, such as a cross, but it has to be something you feel a strong positive emotional reaction to.
Maybe it's a picture of you and your mom in a special place on a special day.
Maybe it's a picture of nature that speaks to you.
Maybe it's a scent you like..
Any and all of the above.
Do something creative. Clay is good. Pencils. Paints. Wood carving.. it doesn't matter. It also doesn't matter if the result is "pretty" it's about the outlet and in learning to funnel your emotions into something constructive.
      Then ask yourself:
      Do want to understand it?
Do you want it all to just go away? Do you feel mostly just insecure about what to do?
If you *do* want to learn more about it: (also a good idea if you don't, but a must if you do..)
First you must know, understand, and build up yourself. Know where your weak spots are. We all have them. Get to know yourself.
It's just like caring for anyone who is sick. As a caregiver if you don't take the time and energy to take care of you, you will end up burnt out, bitter, and hurting while trying to (ineffectively) help others..
You won't be able to really help anyone if you don't care for yourself first, and keep doing that throughout.
Make sure you are taking care of yourself, and *keep* taking care of yourself.
If you have too much on your plate in life, prioritize. Learn to delegate. You don't have to do everything all alone all the time.. and if something is too much, you may need to make choices.
If you don't make them, life will, so make them yourself ;)
      Be gentle with yourself.
If you treat yourself like you would never treat anyone else you really love.. you really need to make some changes.. Learn to look at yourself like you would look at someone else you love.
Gifts are never easy, but gifts are *gifts*.. and they do not require you to accept them, and you can choose to sort of shelve them for now as well.
It won't disappear, you can revisit it later, but it doesn't have to be in your way either.
That choice is, and always remains, yours.
Fear is a good alarm system, but a crappy advisor.
Try to stay very grounded and down to earth dealing with something like this.
Be sceptical in the sense that you should neither blindly dismiss nor blindly accept things anyone might tell you. Trust your feelings on this. If it makes you feel uneasy, back away from it.
Then, if you feel someone (spirit or otherwise) really is just simply being *rude*, tell them what you would tell anyone being rude to you. Tell them to leave, and move on.
This doesn't have to be said out loud if you prefer not to (or if you can't reasonably) but you must be very clear in your internal wording.
A simple: "Get out, and don't come back." is plenty.
Negativity, bitterness, anger, isolation, hopelessness, inactivity.. these are things that will drag you down, and spiral down. If you feel an urge to isolate yourself, put on music that you put on when you're happy. Set a timer to recharge alone if you need to, but then make the effort to go outside. Even if it's cold and you can just make it to the corner of your street or your porch.. do that for yourself. Grab a cup of hot cocoa if you like, but don't let yourself get stuck by not doing it even for 30 seconds..
It's about small steps towards a happier, sturdier you.. because it will shine to others, and open the door for them to do the same. Spirit or otherwise.
      *hugs*
I know this is a long message, sorry everyone.. but hey.. you'll know where to find me if you need to... just look for the big block o' text.. ;)

    Re: "direct revelations"
Is shamanism really unique in this though? You say there is no intermediary but a mentor/discipleship relationship is still more or less required just as in, say, Christianity.

once you have learned how to journey ( and that is a weekend workshop) you are in contact with your helping spirits. No mentors , no other person. it's only you and your helping spirits. Completely different than what I learned in church.
