The important skills here were Werebeaver III, which makes Initiating Nightmare Werepig fight need almost no rng, increase of Curse time, Weremoose mastery, which makes them almost unkillable, Quick Picker (even though it messes with the muscle memory), and Woodcarving for the walking stick. For those wondering, the Monster meat needed for the idols were obtained from Labyrinth spiders at 24:47.
I wish you could reskin the wereforms like with abigail. The victorian skin for woodie is my favorite and it'd be great to have it applied to the moose and such.
Just recently beat a boss other than just Deerclops (Eye of terror.) I've been absorbing information and gameplay like this. Hopefully someday I can get as good as this.
Try ruins rushing with wx-78 and killing ancient guardian. It's extremely easy with that character because of all their perks, and it teaches a lot while also leaving tons of room for error. Once you rush with wx you could try other characters as well but it will be significantly less merciful. (which also means you will learn more.)
@cookieruncandy There is a circuit you can craft with a moleworm that lets you see in the dark. Forever. The complete vision in the caves eliminates what I consider the main threat of the caves, which is the constant resource drain and time drain of trying to upkeep a light source which only shows you *most* of the screen. Basically, with this circuit, nothing could possibly sneak up on you, and you don't have to worry about carrying around torches or a lantern. Secondly, after making this dark vision circuit, you still have room for a level 2 speed circuit, which helps immensely for dodging attacks from enemies and for exploring the caves to find the ruins in the first place. Thirdly, there are a lot of threatening clockwork enemies in the ruins, including Bishops, but WX has a niche perk that heavily reduces the aggro range of Clockwork enemies, because they're similar to one another. The clockwork enemies are by no means passive, but they are significantly less aggressive, allowing you to just hug the edges of most the ruins and simply walk around all the clockwork enemies. You'll even be able to mine most of the ancient statues without attacking the clockworks. Finally, WX can eat gears to regain massive amounts of health, hunger, and sanity, and gears can be found in various locations in the ruins, including the maze to ancient guardian. (The maze being another area made significantly easier thanks to your speed and darkvision.) I wouldn't huff gears like some sort of addict, but if you messed up and got really hurt from the boss or some other enemy the gears provide enough health to basically be extra lives. I mighta missed something, but that's the basic gist of why WX is definitely the best character for rushing the Ruins.
With the big three of the latest update now done, who will you pick next? Personally, I'd like to see another crack at it with Wx-78, but I understand they're frustrating to run with, what with all the scanning and rabbit-catching, so maybe someone else?
A lot of it is the speed boost and light source from glow berries/magiluminessence Also, having a smaller light source radius actually allows you to finish nightmares much faster. They tend to spawn at the edge of a light source, so the chances they'll spawn within your attack range once they reappear are much more likely. That means that in one on one fights you'll be able to kill them without having to dodge for the most part.

I actually like playing Wx, its all worth it for that speed boost, but first i wanted to try a daywalker woodie speedrun
I am dying to 2 terrorbeaks with a spear, armour and a lantern while you dominate everyone with an axe
