First thing to use your brand new generator for? Make a cuppa. That’s a true Brit right there!!
Of course what else lol 😆
Excellent insurance against power outage. Pretty normal first oil change, that’s why we do several oil changes during break-in. Looking forward to seeing the house connected. Have heard you can get the full 3kw continuous from each unit if you use a proper parallel box and not just the factory supplied leads, might be interesting.
Thanks for the support definitely ready for any outages once my sparky has done the work I will definitely post that video.
Very informative and useful, thanks mate !
It's a pleasure glad to help please consider subscribing if you haven't already done so
@@DeathLazerBoy Have you figured out how to drain the fuel for storage ? not in the manual.
Thank you, this Video changed my Life.
I am glad to hear that please consider subscribing to help me grow the channel
Useful vid, thanks! Are we getting to see your connection to house cabling soon? I’ve seen this and the hour meter vids but can’t spot any others.
Yes I will be doing the house connection video soon just waiting on a qualified sparky to come and help me wire it up I have all the bits already. ( would do it myself but for home insurance purposes he has to sign It off)
3:27 i feel u man
Lol yea brilliant
Seen these on Ebay. I have MPR's 6KW model on a ATS switch ready for outages. For me running the central heating is very essential. I plan to upgrade to a natural gas standby next year
Great 👍🏻 that's why I bought mine .
@@DeathLazerBoy I also ended up getting the LPG version of this and came here to find out the best timing to do the first oil change - so thank you for this video :)
@petecoventry6858 you are very welcome thanks for supporting my channel 😀 did you know there is a Facebook group on this generator (not mine) but I joined facebook.com/groups/1507069526713978/?ref=share
Makes interesting reading
The oil is dirty because the engine is assembled with assembly grease because the generator may be in storage before being sold, perfectly normal.
Just being careful but thanks
Any thoughts on why it would go AC overload with nothing connected?
Had mine for a month or so and barely a hour of running
Not sure if I’ve done something wrong or if it’s faulty
Thats never happened to mine with or without a load i would ring customer services
www.maxpeedingrods.co.uk/api/contact_us
Mine broke after 2 hours. Support is based in China or India because they only reply to emails at 4am.
Basically if it goes wrong you have to ship it back to the warehouse and you can kiss goodbye to it for at least a month.
so watching this and noticed that the book says 430mls of oil which means loads comes out of the filler, great generator though...i made a cuppa and toast as the first test lol
Lol 😆 I made a cuppa too. First real usage was in a lay by on the way to Le mans 24hr and I had a crowd cheering me on making another cuppa
Hi mate thanks for this 😁 just curious what spark plug it takes pls? Are they easy to buy?
Just checking I will be right back
@@DeathLazerBoy did you get lost lol
@@darrenlewis1409 lol I had to take the side off to get to it so it took. A bit longer then it thought. I added a service / hour Meter whilst in there please see this video

Whilst there I could get at the plug which is an

just check the spacing as mine was way out

@@DeathLazerBoy thank you mate
I just changed the oil on this exact generator. It's my first. I followed the instructions, even watched THEIR quick video, but I leaked quite a bit of gas! Didn't realize until the smell hit me. The same happened to you. Is that normal?? Should I have drained the gas tank beforehand? I would love to hear your thoughts. Thank you so much.
I forgot to shut the red breather at first and got a leak after it was shut it was OK 👍🏻
Thanks for replying. Mine doesn't have that red breather, and it looks like it leaked from the bottom. It did not leak from the cap. Any thoughts?
@user-tu9kl6lz9h not really sure sound like you have a slightly different model to me if then red breather is missing from yours check out the FB GROUP its full if good advice and the may ne able to help you better then me. @@DeathLazerBoy Thank you so much for your help. I will subscribe!
Thank you for you support 🙏
Nice video. How often do I need to change the oil and what viscosity is best for these generators?
The SAE 10W-30 oil is recommended type of oil. The oil recommended change interval is every 6 months / 100 hrs. of use.
@@DeathLazerBoy Thanks, man. Much appreciated.😉

Why did you check the spark plugs?
To make sure the spacing was correct for efficient burning of fuel
I have the same. What kind of spark plug does it take? i
It takes an A5RTC Available here

I have no idea for the "blind AC plug".?
For what is this useful..?
Sorry for my English, just basic +.
Sorry I don't understand what you mean by "blind AC plug"
@@DeathLazerBoy
Watch the intro. It's under the cover/bag.next to plastic hose
There is a small plug without a wire.
Thx for answering.

I done all of that, it started fine, I switched it off now it won't start again.
Is the air vent on the cap open? 🤔
When they build engines they assemble them with a graphite based assembly lubricant. That’s why the oil is discoloured after the first oil change.
It also helps to protect the engine internals against corrosion whilst the generator is being stored prior to sale.
Very good to know thank you hope you enjoyed the video
Thumbs up just for your shirt. If it said MAGA. then I would have sent you money
Lol 😆 Iam in the UK and have a MAGA baseball cap lol 😆 a like and subscribe is enough thanks
why has the oil turned that colour?
First oil change, probably factory grease mixed in after first run
@@DeathLazerBoy gotcha
Many thanks for your support please consider subscribing to help me grow the channel
Hate to be negative just trying to be helpful, but why wouldn't you test the oil from each generator separately , so you know what came out of what generator , now if i were you i would use up all that lovely E10 or what ever E grade you use in them and stick to straight petrol only , ethanol is well known for causing major problems to carbs and fuel lines left sitting for months on end , if you do get a black out last thing you will need is to take carb off to clean out all the varnish inside . Best tip always run the generator dry ,so you start with cleaner fuel .
Good points however this is a really reliable little generator that I have had approx 16 months and I had to use it in a power cut a few weeks ago, after being in the shed 12 months and it started first pull ! I see your point on E10 but the only other option is E5 .
Its carbon in the oil, not metal
Yeah I thought I would do the change as I was worried that there may be same bits of metal left over from the manufacturering process but the did seem to be any, which is a good sign !
@@DeathLazerBoy I do the same thing, even on my honda when I first bought it.
