Only happened to me once, I can recall every bit of it: in my early 20s I was casually talking with a girl, and we were disagreeing on things, including spiritual things. I remember eye contact with her was very strange and the whole conversation was odd. The next morning about 9am I woke up to a loud, deep, drowning constant humming noise. I could barely breathe, pressure on my chest, I couldn't move, couldn't make a noise. the humming got louder and I began to internally panic. I could sense it was an evil presence. I began to pray and rebuke whatever this was in the name of Jesus Christ (in my head of course, still speechless). This continued for what felt like at least an hour. I was able to regain full control and was terrified and grateful and mixed up and just sat there for awhile. What's crazier is that a couple months later I found out the girl I was arguing with was practicing Wicca, white magic, and doing spells using goat bones and skulls. Will never forget that. The only conclusion I can glean from this is that girl was using whatever spells on me that night after our argument. I was a professing Christian then, and still am today, Jesus Christ is King and Lord.

I used to fear my sleep paralysis episodes but after I realized that calling on Jesus Christ would end the episode immediately, I am no longer afraid.

There is a Christian lady named Vicky Joy who wrote a book titled They only come out at night. it's about sleep paralysis. She wrote it to help people with sleep paralysis and how to deal with it.

Remember to pray and worship God before you sleep. God is the sovereign God. These things are not sovereign. Angels will protect you and your house. Or Christ within you. The sword of the spirit is the Word of God

I first experienced a "shadow person" when I was 6 @ 3am. He was sitting in a rocking chair in my room. It told me "my dad wasn't here" and laughed. No hat. I vividly remember his laugh and its eyes and mouth. They looked like the color of molten metal with many colors happening at the same time. No sleep paralysis at this time. I started screaming and my dad ran into the room. As soon as the light came on it was gone. It happened a few more times but differently as I got older. Once Jesus saved me, the dynamic changed :). It doesn't come around anymore and if it did, I can personally attest, calling out to Jesus resolves the situation quickly. I come from Native American and masonic heritage. Perhaps family who was involved in occult behavior can affect others who aren't. If you are struggling with these entities, repent of your sins and turn to Jesus in belief. He will save you. A natural byproduct of being truly born again is these things cant affect you the way they once did. God is sovereign.

@@xYusukeUrameshix I hear you Yusuke. That’s a particularly terrifying occurrence. From what I am able to gather, it’s very common in these instances for people’s voice to choke out or fade away. I had one experience like that in college and it was terrifying to feel so powerless. So I could only think Jesus save me… that was before I was a Christian too and still He did in his mercy. If it does happen to me again I’ll attribute it to more of a jump scare… surely there is a situation diminishing returns for these things at this point :)

Praise the Lord. Oh if America could understand that God is holy and not just a stuffed animal that we cuddle up to. He is a holy, righteous and just judge who we have sinned against by violating his law that is on our hearts. Because we are sinners he should judge us to an infinite punishment under his wrath in hell because he is a infinitely holy God. But God in his mercy became a human being and because he was also God he was sinless and he takes the wrath and punishment that we deserve upon himself on the cross. Now all who have a change in mind to turn from sin and turn and trust in Jesus who was God becoming a human being will be saved.

Thats how mine was, a type of dream paralysis where inwas unable to speak clearly. Used to happen very sporadically, once per year until I was finally able to rebuke it in Jesus name. Hasn't happened in over 10 years, we moved 8 years ago. I think it was something in the old house.

I started listening to this podcast recently and I kept skipping over this episode because I was afraid I would connect too deeply with it. I did. But i do not feel fear but just an overwhelming thankfulness to God for rescuing me. This holy week is going to be extra special.
When I was young i was molested and hated God and His church. I was so angry. I hated myself, I hated femininity, I indulged in whatever drugs I could get my hands on, cutting, as well as being very interested in the occult and witch craft, and being promiscuous. I remember suffering from this exact experience often. As well as constantly having disgusting and disturbing thoughts that didn't even feel like they were from my own head. When I was radically converted at 14. I still suffered from the intrusive disgusting thoughts and the evil heaviness on my chest, which was coupled with self hatred, terror, etc. One night I remember calling out to God and just begging for peace and rest and safety. I fell into a deep sleep and never had any of those experiences ever again.
God is so gracious and kind to save a sinner like me.

I saw the hat man while I was awake. I was pregnant with my first child, I could feel the malice and evil coming from it and knew it wanted my baby. I couldn't wake my husband at the time, and when the hat man finally left it completely destroyed my kitchen everything in the drawers and cabinets were on the floor. This was before I was believer in The Most High and His Son

For years my husband dealt with "sleep paralysis' episodes. Later I found out that this was a known phenomenon referred to as sleep paralysis. I read that scientists say that it's caused by chemicals in the brain that misfire or something like that. My question to those scientists would be this, explain to me how HIS brain chemicals woke ME up out of a dead sleep everytime he had an episode? I would wake up with a sense of total stillness, alertness and danger. I would immediately start praying and it would lift off of him. (After that first time, I knew what was happening and I knew to pray.) Once we were spending the night on our houseboat and it was cold so we had a propane tank with an attachment on it that put off one large blue flame for heat. It was a straight up flame that didn't waiver or move around any and there was no draft. When I woke up out of a dead sleep like all the other times before, I noticed that the flame was jumping around crazily which I noted was weird but then I just started praying and my husband was released from the hold that thing had on him and the flame went back to normal. We talked about how the flame had responded to the presence of that evil entity. But then we settled down and he dropped back off to sleep. I couldn't get back to sleep though. I kept looking at that flame wondering why it had danced around like that when he was having that attack. Then it started dancing around again and I knew immediately that thing was back and was attacking him again! So once again I began to pray and he was able to move and the flame went back to normal. I would like those scientists to explain how HIS brain chemicals not only could wake ME up to complete alertness and a feeling of danger but could also affect that FLAME. It never jumped around like that again. It was ONLY when he was suffering those 2 attacks. I don't know if he still has those episodes anymore because after 29 yrs of marriage in 2018 he decided to leave me for an adulterous relationship which he's still in today. One thing I did note back then was that a spirit of intense, unreasonable, and unexplainable anger would come upon him out of the blue from time to time and cause him to lash out at the people closest to him. Once he woke up and told me, "I don't know what's wrong with me! I'm so angry I just want to kill somebody! I want to rip someone's head off and I don't even know why I feel like this!" During the night before he woke up feeling like this, both me and my daughter had sensed a dark presence looking down on us while we were trying to go to sleep (but were still awake). We were in different parts of the house and we both responded to this threatening presence in our own unique ways. Then we went to sleep and pretty much forgot about it til the next day when we were talking. That's when I was able to put together what we experienced with what my husband/her dad was feeling when he woke up that morning. Looking back on it now, I believe we should've taken all these episodes and experiences much more seriously than we did and prayed against these attacks against our home and family much more fervently. I didn't really understand what was happening. I believe those evil entities were out to destroy my husband and our family unit and that ultimately they were successful. Of course that doesn't have to be the end of the story. I can at any time shake myself out of lethargy and stand and fight for his deliverance. God is able to deliver! I can pray the effectual, fervent prayer of the righteous that availeth much! The only question is am I WILLING to get on my face and REALLY pray until there's a breakthrough, a deliverance, and a healing?!...

I like to lean more in the middle when it comes to the spiritual and scientific.
I know the human body is designed to pick up on subtle things. Children have a knack for creepily standing over your bed in the middle of the night for a glass of water. Problem with that is, I can sleep though nearly everything (Causes problems for me when I have work).
So small changes in your husbands sleep pattern may cause you to have a primal reaction especially if your husband is afraid.
Further we absolutely cannot deny the spiritual side, but I’m just saying there is more than one aspect of things that come into play for things like this.
That’s very interesting and I’ll be praying for you and your husband. I pray he will see the sinful path he has chosen to walk down, and that he will do what is right by God and by you.

My parents calmed me down saying I was sleepy as it was around 10 pm. And when staying alone in the house, while parents were in the yard, I would make sure to close all doors firm because they would move or close by themselves all of a sudden. Nobody believed me.

I had that feeling with the water heater. I was 3 at the time, and I had very vivid dreams of the water tank basically being, like, a robot that would drag me under my bed and trade teeth with me, like we had dentures. This would have been around 1997-1998. I have never forgotten, and I was absolutely terrified of that water heater.

I have suffered from sleep paralysis since a kid. When I am frozen I try to scream out, my wife recorded me once and all that comes out is a quiet whimper even though in my mind I am screaming out to try and get someone to wake me. The last episode I had was while I was 42 years old. It was the longest time I had been stuck in this paralyzing state of fear and I thought I would never escape this one. I screamed till I was exhausted, knowing that I would not be able to wake my wife next to me because the screams do not actually leave my mind. I finally found a peace and said “release me in the name of Jesus” in an instant I was thrust up and awake! I was at such peace, knowing that the name of Jesus was all I needed to be set free from that bondage and have never experienced it since!

I was plagued by sleep paralysis and succubus demons for years when I was into spiritual and Wiccan practices. Not knowing at the time that what I was doing was ALL BAD, I was instructed just to “push past the fear to reach higher consciousness”. That didn’t go well and only calling on the name of Jesus (who I didn’t know well at the time) was the only name that could save me from these traumatizing experiences. After that, I had a wake up call from the one true God and I became a Christian. My nightmare ended instantly. 🥰

Love this podcast. Y’all have certainly identified an unaddressed niche. In my early 20’s (around 20 years ago) I began suffering from horrible episodes of “sleep paralysis.” Ha! What a misnomer! I was not asleep and the paralysis was the least horrifying aspect of the experiences. I was spiritually rudderless and was obsessed with occult and paranormal topics at the time. Having been churched in my youth, I finally called out to Jesus (mentally) for rescue in the midst of one attack. It ceased immediately. Having seen that spiritual evil was quite real, and that Jesus had power over it, I planted my flag on Christ as true North. Have learned a great deal in the subsequent years, but I always think it’s hilarious that the attacks of the adversary turned me to Christ. I’m sure some Wormwood or Screwtape somewhere in the aether is ruing the day they decided to lift the veil with me.

@@hauntedcosmos_ I’d previously read the “Hunt for the Skinwalker” several years ago, so was very familiar with that story. I was tangentially familiar with the highlights of the “Mothman” story, but had never really dug into it. Just finished listening to the audiobook (mostly in the quiet hours while falling asleep). Started to get super creeped out a few times, considering so many of incidents involve similar and traumatizing elements to my “night terrors.” Then a thought occurred to me that gave me great peace. These buggers won’t risk doing something spooky with me again, considering their last efforts only drove me into the arms of Christ. So, while I wouldn’t say Christians are fundamentally immune to such experiences, I feel sorta inoculated in my case. Was able to finish the book with far less anxiety. 😎
An aside, it was incredibly frustrating to hear Keel get sooo close to the truth, but then fail to grasp at it because of his assimilation of the “zeitgeist” of that era. In one breath, he’d mock the “materialists” who insisted these were “extraterrestrials” based on their limited worldview. In the next, he’d grasp at dubious “sciency” explanations of other phenomena, even when it required a stretch. It seems that his fundamental error resides in crudely lumping all “religious” traditions or beliefs together as one, then dismissing them as superstition or misidentification. It never occurred to him that one may actually be the genuine article, and that all others are deviations with an origin found in the fundamentals of the prototype. He seems to have never invested more than a cursory investigation into any of the religious traditions to which he refers.

I still do get attacked from time to time at night but nothing like when it first started, not even close. I’m currently seeking how exactly to pray from a biblical standpoint during these attacks, and in general for protection over my home and family, and of course myself.

Your Haunted Cosmos series is one of the best things I've heard. This one hit home. I went into a horrible prodigal son experience a couple years after I was saved. And having been turned over to my sins of substance abuse, I began being afflicted by sleep paralysis. I would say I have had at least 500 episodes of it. I became so acquainted with it, that I would be able to struggle out of the paralysis at times. But often I would struggle up to a sitting position, only to be pulled back down onto my bad and back into a state of paralysis. That's how I knew it couldn't be merely a medical condition.

I had sleep paralysis frequently as a child. Three times stick out in particular-- One was a dream that led into the awake-state of paralysis, and during the dream I felt paralyzed but also like I was being spun around extremely fast against my will. It seemed so real that I could feel the centrifugal force in my body which isn't something I've ever experienced in a normal dream. I didn't see witches in the dream but somehow I knew witchcraft was the cause. The next was awake-paralysis wherein I could sense, (but not see,) a dark being on the far side of my room. I called out to Jesus and the feeling of the entity slowly went away. (It probably happened pretty quickly but in my fear it felt like forever.) The third was when I was about 19. I woke up to see something crouching on the bed between me and my husband at the time, and it said, (just like Gollum from LOTR I kid you not,) "Why does it cry, precious?" Since being saved two years ago I continue to have weird dreams, but never ever the demonic sleep paralysis type that plagued me as a child. God truly is so good to His children.

He told me he was thinking, My wife is right there beside me and I can't even ask her to pray for me. I immediately woke up and was still and alert and could sense danger. I heard him make a sound and started praying for him. He told me that the old lady had stuck her claws in his side which caused him to make that sound. It was like when you expel air when you're punched in the stomach. Every time he had an episode from then on I would immediately wake up and pray. I've only made it about 12 minutes into this episode & will have to come back & listen to the rest later. It hits close to home. I went through something similar between 16-18 years old. Mine were a bit different than the ones you described. They would happen only when I took a nap, which was regularly at that time in my life. I would be asleep & wake up but not really wake up. I couldn't open my eyes, but I could see dark, cloudy scenes. The scariest part was that I couldn't move. I could hear what was happening around me but wouldn't be able to move. I would panic thinking, if I could just move a finger, then I could wake up & get out of it. It seemed like it would go on forever. It was absolutely terrifying. I didn't tell anyone about it until the last year or so (15 years later), when I first learned about the term "sleep paralysis". I just can't even describe the panic & fear that would come over me when it happened.

I do remember like screaming for help in my head but not being able to make noise. I was basically trapped in my body. I have very real leftover fears of being trapped.
What is interesting is that you mentioned Haiti. I stayed in Haiti for 10 days around the time this started & our neighbor was, apparently, a witch doctor. That was how he was described to me at least. I know for sure it happened after that trip. I just don't remember if it maybe happened once or twice before. I never had alcohol or did any drugs.

He never called it sleep paralysis but after hearing similar stories from others when I got older, it made sense that could be a possibility. I was scared to the core for weeks and would count to ten under the covers. Be sweating like crazy 🤣 but wouldn’t move a muscle.

I have seen her in actual dreams. Like I was on a slide and the end of it led right to her in the glass house. I could see her the whole time and the slide led me to her. I've also seen that sometimes we are given a package we can handle. When I was 9 I had dreams of hell but it was just a line of me and other kids being led into a bathroom getting haircuts with a banana by a thing that looked like Bane from batman. But we held our heads over the toilet and could see blood hitting the water from my haircut with the banana peel. I've also had sleep paralysis where you don't see them but it's the same thing they are there and need to be forced out through prayer and worship and the name of Jesus. I've seen the shadow figures twice but also been held down by what felt like a being with wings. Hadn't heard about mothman at the time and didn't know they could actually have wings at the time was so confused because I thought only angels had wings. Sometimes you don't see them but they are still there. You need God's angels following and protecting you. Not Satan's angels

I suffered from “sleep paralysis” on a monthly basis from about 15 years old to about 18 years old. It started with something portraying itself as my fathers voice screaming at me from down stairs, to then the old hag woman hovering over me and choking me, and then a demonic child sitting on my chest and many other manifestations after. I can thankfully say that now it happens very rarely and is much less extreme because I know the power of Christ over the demonic and I rest in the Lord now. But boy oh boy, when it first started i dreaded going to sleep for a long time

I had one with a demonic boy on my back. It didn't have hands or feet, just one talon. His feet talons were dug into the side of ribs and the hand talons were wrapped over my shoulders and dug into the chest. The more I fought it, the more they dug in. Eventually I realized that if I didn't fight, the level of pain I was experiencing wouldn't get any worse, so I quit fighting and accepted it's painful attachment. I had no spiritual walk back then

I've been subscribed and listening to your podcasts since I saw you guys on Apologia Radio.I'm so glad Jeff has spoken about the "UFOs" and "aliens" topic from a Christian worldview.
I've been a Christian for over 40 years.I have always been interested in the topic of extraterrestrial activity as well as supernatural topics like werewolves, vampires, and other topics you cover.I watched Ghost Hunters for years.I've watched TV shows like the X-Files and Supernatural. But I always wonder if as a Christian I shouldn't be indulging (by way of interest - not practicing any kind of witchcraft, etc) in these things - that somehow it might have been a sin for me to do so.I was just supposed to write them off as fantasy or stories that people have just made up.Because of that I largely kept it to myself.I didn't really think about these things from the spiritual, Christian worldview even though I always believed Eph 6:12.I just never put the two things together until now.
You guys are fantastic storytellers.I also love the audio production values of the podcasts - the creepy music and the audio additions of footsteps, cows, howling wolves, etc that add to our listening experience. It comes off like those great radio shows of the '30s and '40s.You both have wonderful radio voices.
God bless you in this endeavor.

I'm blown away. I have dealt with Spiritual attack in my dreams I don't know how many times.
Some of my dreams are warnings from God or prepping me for something. But the nightmares where I'm trying to call out to Jesus or rebuke the entity in my dream and my voice is gone. The thing actively keeps me from being able to vocalize a rebuke. I'm even trying to ask others around me to pray but I'm only able to whisper or gesture what I need. This has been my whole life. (I'm 46). I've seen demons leave my house when I was 4. They were in our house from the time I was born until a group of people from my parents church came and began to pray over us. I remember watching them stare at me with tattered moth eaten gray robes, red eyes, wild hair, mouths open, as they floated out of my front door.
I've always been super sensitive. I can sense (for lack of a better word) the presence of the demonic.
I don't have time to tell you all of my experiences. But back to your podcast:
Immediately on the open the thing with the mirror. Not wanting to look in a mirror at night has been one of my quirks. I'm afraid I'll see something that's not supposed to be there. I dreamt that a few yrs ago when house shopping. In my dream I was in the kitchen doing dishes and in the reflection of the window I could only see half of my face, the other half was a demon or corpse. There was more to the dream, but that's what you talked about.
    Another thing...
When I was 16/17 I was at my cousin's house. An old (built 1920s ish) 3x house
( in Central Fresno, Ca) turned into condos. I was afraid of the stairs, felt like something was going to push me. While my cousin took a shower I was sitting on her bed (studio apt). Suddenly, out of the corner of my eye I saw a man look through the wall, turn his head and look at me. And then go back through the wall. What stuck out? The hat, with a feather. Until today I have never heard of Hatman. 👀😱. I immediately began to pray, and turned on the only Christian radio channel I knew of & J Vernon Magee was preaching.
    And lastly, the succubus.
In my dream we were at my in laws and there was a demonic presence that we were praying out... but it wasn't working. Then a group of people circled me and began to try to sexually assult me. I was yelling stop, stop. And then with a boldness that I believe was the HS speaking through me. I grabbed her hand looked her in the face and said "I said Let go!" She let go, screamed a scream like I've never heard before. Her eyes flipped inside out and started bleeding down her face. I woke up. I didn't know anything about succubus but previously in the dream it was named. "The spirit here is a succubis"
Anyway, thank you for this because you are right, there isn't really a Biblically centered outlet or research for us.
I don't believe in ghosts. I believe that what people perceive as ghosts are familiar spirits/demons.
Anyway... I have more. But that's all I'm saying for now.

My brother and I saw the hat man in the summer of 2000 at about 1:00 pm. I was 13 and he was 9. It was summer break and our parents hadn't returned from work yet so we were home alone in northern Arizona. In broad daylight this figure in a black duster and black cowboy hat floated across our front porch as we watched from inside through our window. His face was featureless like a movie bank robber wearing nylons over his head to hide his identity. The whole thing only lasted about 3 or 4 seconds before we lost sight of him through the window. Nothing weird like this happened to me before that or since. About a year ago i heard about the hat man for the first time and was astonished to find out about the phenomenon. My account is odd in that it was daytime and there were two witnesses.

Another thing I've started to notice. There's an uptick in information on the web of these stories. Our entertainment (I used to be a huge fan of horror movies but they're not holding the same "joy" they used to for me) and saturated with demonic possession, seemingly malevolent ghosts that just need to be helped in order to stop the haunting etc. I really think that this is an intentional plan from the enemy to desensitize people to this evil. To make it more normal or soften it up so that when these events happen, people are less likely to see it for what it is (demonic) and more likely to interact with it, opening themselves up. Same thing with alien encounters. Satan and his vile cohorts are real and they are determined to separate as many souls from God as possible.

If you are struggling with sleep paralysis and are afraid a demon might be attacking you, I suggest picking up a systematic theology book and studying what demons are and how they can and can not affect you. I find MacArthur and Mayhues easy to understand but there are other great ones out there with reformed theology. I also suggest picking up a book on Spiritual warfare such as "How to Meet the Enemy" or a book about the inner man, such as "attitudes of a transformed heart" that will help you understand the basics of modern psychology from a Christian perspective. There are much better resources on this than simply hearing a bunch of cult ghost stories and a complete disregard for observable neurological conditions. If you have persistant sleep paralysis, I suggest getting in with a sleep specialist who can do a sleep study on you because sleep paralysis is a well known symptom of narcolepsy, sleep apnea (all three types) and sleep seizures. I haven't had a sleep paralysis attack "with the demon" but I did used to get it before my diagnosis of narcolepsy and learning the importance of sleep hygiene. Don't be afraid, Christ has not given us a spirit of fear.

In my teens I was into the New Age and used a lot of psychedelics and because of this my friends and I had many encounters with demonic entities, specifically at my house. An example of this would be one of the times there was 7 or 8 people over, and maybe 5 of us were high on LSD but the others were not. We were laughing and being silly and noisy and what have you when all of a sudden the lights in the room dimmed and there was a very dark shadow in the upper corner/ceiling of my bedroom and a very low and snarling voice growled "shut the f up" at us, it was a voice that felt like it got down inside of me very being, and EVERYONE - high or not - turned their heads to look into that corner of the room and it got REALLY quiet. We all heard it and we all saw it. Around this time, this same year, I had waking nightmares. I could not turn my mind off at night and I would have this demonic imagery just absolutely haunting me as I lay in bed, like it was being forced into my brain by some other entity. Imagery that was reminiscent of Dante's Inferno, people being tortured, strange and frightening beings, along with a voice that sounded like a fuzzy radio or police radio. It was ongoing and it was horrifying. But what could I do? I worshipped demons, literally. One night my friend Jessica was over and we were falling asleep and she started describing to me these clips and glimpses that were forcing themselves into her mind while she was trying to sleep and it was the same imagery I was experiencing. Now I just thank God for his mercy and love for setting me free from sin and death, and bringing me into the newness of life. But yeah. That stuff is real.

Pray and ask the Lord to help you if you are struggling with a certain sin, and I’m sure over time it will get better, maybe over night it will go away, but we will always be sinful by nature, until we die and go home to Jesus. It always happened at about 3am. I was able to go back to sleep after prayer & reciting scripture. Then it stopped & was replaced with different waking dreams: a few nights in a row, it was like I could hear and see my aunt moving around the house, doing things that had been her normal routine before she passed. After a few night of it, I talked to someone at church about it, then for two nights, I dreamed about her singing with her African students where she had been a missionary. After 2 nights of that, all of the events stopped. 26:46

I've had several different types of sleep paralysis dreams. The most common was the sudden and sure feeling that an evil entity was walking up the stairs towards my bedroom. If it made it to my bedroom, I was certain I would die. I had this one off and on in my late teens and early twenties. If I began praying, the dread would slowly subside, and I would slowly wake up. It usually happened around 2 AM.
The other is a loud buzzing that comes with a deep sense of dread. I still get this one sometimes, and it happens when I am exhausted or stressed. It doesn't last long.
The last one I had once when I was 18. I had a large confirmation banner hanging over my bed. In the dream, there was a white blue light shining from behind the banner. I moved the banner to the side, and there was a tunnel that led to a large chamber. There was a man there wearing a large cloak, but he was bald. He looked at me and felt compelled to go to him, but I knew if I did, I would die. So I put the banner back in front of the tunnel and prayed, and then I woke up.
As far as science goes, I think what scientists are seeing in our brains is the physiological result of demon exposure. So they may be correct, but they assume it is our brains doing it on their own instead of responding to outside stimulus.

I’ve been plagued with sleep paralysis for 20 years. It started when I was 19 and at the time, I was doing recreational drugs like ecstasy and mushrooms. I was also in a volatile relationship.
I started seeing shadow men walking at the foot of my bed and peaking in my room through the crack in my door. They would even whisper in my ear. Then I started seeing this ‘Hat Man’, basically a silhouette with a fedora and trench coat. He seemed to be the ringleader, for lack of a better word. The funny thing is, this was before the internet was in every home. I definitely didn’t have it. I had no idea what any of this was. Eventually when I was able to look it up online, I was shocked that people were seeing the same things I was. It eventually escalated to me feeling like I was being sexually assaulted, but it was just the sensation. I didn’t actually SEE anything.
Then I stopped seeing things all together and just started getting these malevolent feelings during my episodes. Like something evil was in my presence.
Once I fully gave my life to Christ, I started playing the Bible at night and the episodes stopped for the most part. However, I live in front of a train, and it’s very loud, so recently, I started listening to rain sounds really loud to block it out so I could sleep.
The other night, I felt my covers being pulled off of me. I ‘woke up’, only to realize I couldn’t move again. I looked down and saw another entity. Only this time, it was still black, but it had facial features. It looked like a demon from a modern day horror movie. Like someone with black prosthetics on and bright white teeth. I almost feel like they’re trying to break me down.

Sleep paralysis, real sleep paralysis occurs only as you are falling asleep, or when you are waking up. The normal occurrence of sleep is to first loose consciousness then voluntary movements. With sleep paralysis this is switched, you loose the abilities of movement, to open your eyes, to speak, but still fully conscious. One time aboard the USS O'Brien, I could hear a couple of shipmates talking at the foot of my rack. I understood everything they were saying, but couldn't open my eyes, move, or speak. When I was finally able to fully wake up, I got up and told them the answer to what they were discussing. They were shocked because they had assumed I was asleep. I was fully conscious.

I had no idea I encountered the hat man until I listened to this. Tears came to my eyes when I googled the hat man. My experience has not been what most have been though. He was not some dark shadow. He had full color and he came and leaned over my bed. Stared me in the eyes, inches from my face, and he looked like an alien that was wearing a disguise. Like he could not reveal what he truly looked like. He came in my room wearing a large, beige trench coat and fedora hat. Black business shoes. The collar on the trench coat was HUGE! Covered his face until he got close to me. This was all during sleep paralysis. He had curly-ish black strings of hair coming out from under his hat & it’s like it didn’t even belong. It’s like it was fake. It was all a disguise. His attire was that of an investigator from the olden days. Trench coat from his neck down. Looked like an alien AKA..was a demon. Before he left he spoke in a language that was not like human language. It wasn’t like a language we know….I’m gonna email you my stories. This all happened while I was a believer in Christ (still am of course). And I was smoking weed & in sexual sin during that time.
However, I still have sleep paralysis episodes and am not in any sin like that. No substance abuse, no sexual immortality, etc.
I was not into occult stuff even as an unbeliever. It was the sexual sin and smoking weed that gave the enemy a wide open door.
I just wish it would stop now because there are times I’m scared to sleep & I’m beyond exhausted. I don’t like being alone at all.

I am so sorry to hear this. I encourage you to pray in the name of Jesus whenever that happens. You could ask a pastor or any strong Christian friend or even better a group of Christians to come to your home and pray with you. Clean out of your house anything remotely questionable related to other religions like little Budda figures or dream catchers or Harry Potter books or crystals or anything like that. Fast and pray if you have to and call on the name of Jesus. Repent of any sins you can think of and ask for forgiveness and restoration with God. God bless you.

Wild how common the hat man phenomenon has become. I actually had an encounter with him myself when i was a kid. I was 12ish, not on drugs, and it was just after school probably 4pm. Sun was still up and quite bright in my room. As I was walking into my bathroom I saw, in the reflection of a picture, the hat man behind me. When he noticed me noticing him he turned and entered my closet. I ran screaming to my mother who came back up with me to look in my closet and nothing was seen. Just thought I would share my story since it's a bit different from the usual. It was broad day light, no drugs, and no negative emotions until I saw him, of course, at which point there was a deep sense of fear and dread. Also weird, it was common for my dog at the time to sleep in my room and I can't be certain of the exact time it changed, but there eventually reached a point where he would no longer stay in my room at night. Wonder if he could see what I couldn't?

I never thought it’d happen to me as a believer. I woke up one night to what sounded like someone breaking in. I tried to reach for my gun but found I couldn’t move. I could only watch as my bedroom door slowly opened halfway. I knew at that point it wasn’t an intruder but that there was something evil hiding behind the door just out of sight. I began praying “Jesus save me” and I fell back asleep almost like I passed out. When I woke up the door was closed again.

This is truly fascinating stuff, and I've been listening to quite a few of these episodes. I just think sometimes it's handy to have someone look at these things from a different point of view rather than just tending to believe everything all the time. For example, I (as a born-again, blood washed believer in Christ, Reformed soteriology and all) once had a sleep paralysis episode. It was during a particularly stressful time in my life when I had just recently moved out of home. I remember one morning waking up at around 4-5 am or so completely paralysed. The only sense of fear I had at that time was that I would be late for work (it was summer time so it was quite light in my room at the time) as I had no way of checking the time or even moving. As I say, this was a particularly stressful time in my life, I remember also having 2 stress migraines for the first and only times in my life. There was no shadow figure, no paralysis demon, none of that, just my stress induced brain forgetting to wake my body up. I do vaguely remember praying to Christ for help with whatever was happening and that he would keep me from stressing even more.
All this to say that I am well aware that there is demonic activity and a demonic realm, but don't go so far into the spirituality ditch that you ignore and write off natural explanations also. Sleep paralysis is a natural phenomenon also, though I have no doubt that evil spirits might use it to torment people. One question I always have with this sort of thing is, what use would demons have for tormenting an unbeliever when they are already on the path to hell? Wouldn't they be better off trying to give the unbeliever the most comfortable life possible so that they don't ever think they need God?

@billyfromla1117 it's possible, as I say, I don't want to rule anything out. As I look around at my world, though, it seems like the unbelievers are doing that pretty well without demon intervention. When I look at scripture, it seems to me that demonic activity seems to mostly be aimed at getting people to worship things other than God and trying to deceive the saints either away from worshipping God or failing that at least just making their lives less joyful.

I use to have sleep paralysis and it was around the same time that my 2nd born son (15 at the time) would scream like he was oppressed, he began to get dangerous with our youngest 4 and we had to send him to his dads, within the week my 4th born (then 6) started coming downstairs at night saying satan has told him to kill his dad and I .
My husband worked night shift and I didn’t know what to do. I just prayed over him. Our church at the time seemed unphased and unhelpful at the time so I called my Pentecostal hairdresser. She was so helpful and prayerful with us. We began reading the Bible out loud throughout the house and praying over everyone, which we should be doing anyway

I had a nasty encounter of sleep paralysis 30 yrs ago. A red misty ball was floating over my chest. I was paralyzed. When I said I claim the blood of Jesus because someone was witnessing to me but I hadn’t been saved yet. When I said that within myself my body flew up a few inches and it spoke in a deep voice speaking in a other “worldly” language sounded mad he flew away through the wall.

I’ve had sleep paralysis a few times. There was a period in my life when it would happen every few weeks and would go away when I prayed. In fact, the only movement I could make was to bring my hands together and pray. And as I would pray, it’s as if the fire feeling (sleep paralysis feels like I’m on fire) would increase until I finished praying and woke up.
The first time I had it, I heard a voice that sounded like it was mocking my brother call me “stupid” and then I felt like I got punched in the face. I got out of bed, and my brother was on the other side of the house, so I know it wasn’t him. There were sometimes that my mom and I had it the same night. I have many stories on it.
There are also times when I’ve had sleep paralysis that doesn’t seem spiritual. As not all seizures come from demons, but they can cause seizures, I believe it’s that way with sleep paralysis.
I suffered a spinal injury during training and have had issues of my leg going numb. When that happens, I don’t feel anything at all, as if I hadn’t even a leg. Many times, sleep paralysis is like that. In these events, the hallucinations are just the surreal and nonsensical things I see in my dreams, nothing evil or powerful. I believe that’s just a result of the fallen world we’re in.
However, there’s been plenty of times where I feel as if an evil being is there and sometimes even see one. During those events, it’s as if my body is on fire and only prayer helps. However, I must include that one time, for whatever reason, as soon as I entered into this state, my mind was all over the place and I thought of the pope and then it went away. I know that the pope is an antichrist and that Rome is a false church of demon worship, so I do not know why that happened. As the 1689 says, the pope is the antichrist. Perhaps this was just a natural sleep paralysis because I didn’t have control of my thoughts, in similar manner to a dream.
I stopped having those supernatural feeling sleep paralysis when one time I had it I suddenly got feeling in my upper body and turned toward my left and saw what I took to be Michael coming through my wall with sword forward and thrusted it into an evil spirit and then I was suddenly able to move.
I do not know how much of this is spiritual warfare, or was just the wild dreams of teen.

I'm a new listener, thanks to Steve Deace, and I only had a brief experience with sleep paralysis but mine I'm quite confident was NOT demonic. I was sleeping and was awakened but as if in a dream, and saw the figure of a man in my bedroom, going through the drawer of the night stand. I reached for the gun under my pillow but I couldn't move, as hard as I tried. The next morning I told my husband about it and he informed me that he was the one going through the drawer.

My first experience with sleep paralysis occured while still in grade school (Catholic School). I was sleeping on the couch for some reason and had intense "buzzing" in my ears. I had a vision of a blue screen on the T.V. (not sure if real or not because the T.V. was actually right there and I was seeing it from my POV on couch laying down). There was no picture on the blue screen but the song "Swing Low Sweet Chariot" was playing. I felt awake but couldn't move. I have had at least five more experiences through the course of my life. I am now 43. At least one other experience was coupled with the intense buzzing. I awoke once after an episode screaming "Jesus Is Lord"! So I agree with others; the name of Jesus definitely makes the demon flee. There is no question the presence is benevolent. The worst experience I ever had was when it kept happening in the same night. Each time I began to fall asleep the buzzing would start. I finally got up and grabbed a Bible. I opened it up and placed it next to my head. It was awful.

I have experienced sleep paralysis a few times in my life. I don’t ever remember seeing a shadow figure. I remember feeling like I was pinned to the bed and I couldn’t move, I would try to scream but nothing would come out. One experience, I was dreaming I was standing in front of a closed shower curtain, something was pushing the curtain from the other side. The curtain wound up being wrapped around my neck and when I woke up my sheets were around my neck. I have no idea what I was watching/reading at the time but something triggered it. It’s happened a couple of other times but that one incident was the most memorable and that was over 20 years ago. I have also been in such a deep sleep that I have thought I was awake and I wasn’t. It was like a dream within a dream. They were always very vivid dreams, I could smell and felt like I was awake but I wasn’t. That’s happened multiple times in my life.

I’ve always heard these stories from various people. My aunt (who is a missionary) told me that when she was a kid, one of these demons came and sat on her bed at night and she sang “Jesus Loves Me” in her head because she was unable to out loud and it went away. I always understood sleep paralysis to be an unrelated scientific thing, but that when figures show up that it’s demons. This is fascinating stuff. I’ve never really encountered one of these, but the idea of it is terrifying and always causes me to pray. I had a shadowy dream once in which I thought I saw something like one, but it could have been a manifestation of my fear rather than a real demon.

I've had sleep paralysis a few times in the past months. but once I was waking up in the morning and my face was under my covers and my hands were both laying up on my pillow and then all of a sudden, I felt something grabbing my wrists and pushing me down. I might have heard breathing as well but I'm not sure... my whole body was paralysed and I tried to say the name of Jesus, but my mouth was paralyzed as well. it lasted like a few minutes. when it was over I was afraid of going back to sleep as it was early. I went back to sleep and then I felt a nudge on my hand (not sure if that was an angel or still the demon?)
another time I was sleeping and In my dream I was in my bed in my room and felt something push me down then I looked towards the window and saw a shadow figure walk away. I woke up and my cat was by my bed and was looking above me all scared..
another time I'm not sure if this was angelic or demonic, but one night in april 2024 I couldn't fall asleep and at 5am suddenly I saw this flash come from the window and fill the whole room for a few seconds. it left me kind of scared tbh..
I've always been sensitive to spirits but sometimes I feel this heaviness in my room, once it was so bad that I started crying and getting super scared I had to sleep in my brother's room. I kept quoting psalm 23 over again.
not that much anymore but I used to also feel scared when I was brushing my teeth that something would be in the mirror when I looked up or behind or above me, or when I'm in the shower I get super scared.
I know that I don't need to be afraid because Jesus is with me but it's still scary
Another time I'm not sure if is was a demon or not but I was sleeping and suddenly woke up and lunged forwards and it felt like something tried to strangle me

My terrifyingly unprovoked definitely unwanted Demonic Adventures began when I was 4 years old. My family and I lived in a small one bed room cottage home,”Tiny” to say the least so we all shared a bedroom.
Me younger brav and I would share the kids bed , one would sleep on the kids bed and the other would sleep with mom and dad. When ever it was my turn to all sleep next to our parents,I would sleep on the far left side which was beneath a large long window and on the left side of my mom. During the night I would wake up around 12-3 with and over whelming feel of dread and an intense feeling that something bad was about to happen thsn I would lay there listening to any noise and I would begin to hear something out side. It would scurry around out side like it was blind and wand was smelling me fear . After I finally would make its way to the window where I’m right on the other side makin these strange scary Sounds thsn it wild knock three times on the window thsn it would knock again then it would begin to speak to me in a demonic sounding old womens voice snd it would ask me to come out side it wanted to show me something thsn it would scurry around making strange sounds then it sounded like it left snd I would lay there super silent not here anything. I would lay there in silence to only be startled by the knocking I then pledging for me to come out it wants to play with me. This would continue to go happen all night till I would fall asleep from fear. My encounters would continue snd would escalated . Many different things I went thru from a young age till about 21, and I finally started speaking out to my parents and we had our pastor snd other friends come over and would rebuke and use blessed oil over windows and entry ways and thsn. Over me and my forehead . And it stopped .

I have this really weird experience from when I was a kid and I'm not sure it's related to this but I'll recount it. It was dark outside and I was riding on one of those power wheels things in the backyard. I couldn't have been more than 4 or 5 because I hadn't gone to kindergarten yet. I noticed a shadow and what looked like one shining thing, almost like a star in the sky, inn the middle of the shadow. I stared at it from where I was sitting and all of a sudden this shadow turned it's head (I now knew what I was staring at was a figure) to the left and I saw that the shining thing was actually one of two eyes and I now had two of these shining objects staring at me and could clearly tell that it was the black silhouette of a man type figure and it was looking right back at me and just stared. I was so young but this experience was so terrifying that I remember it vividly. I ran back in the house screaming and told my dad. He came running out thinking there was someone in the backyard and looked everywhere. Even went up and down the neighborhood thinking that maybe he might see some creeper that was watching me play. It wasn't a human though because it was huge (I called it a giant) and those eyes were glowing. I'm almost 40 now and can still see it in my head. I asked my mother about it a couple of years ago and she doesn't recall but I sure do. I don't know how people go through life without the comfort of knowing that Jesus Christ is at the finish line. I've never seen the figure again but man alive, was it terrifiying in that moment. Thank you Jesus for being with me and protecting me from the evil of this world. Just thought I'd share as this episode seems right up that alley. Pray pray pray and put on the armor of God daily and there is nothing to fear in this world or the other.

I had sleep paralysis about 15 years ago, and it started right around the time I started going to church and becoming a Christian. I couldn’t move, and I could feel a presence in the room with me. Sometimes I would here a very loud bang in the house.
The cap it off, one night I was awake and my wife was sound asleep. She turns to me and in a slightly creepy voice says “We’re watching you.” I said “say that again?” And she said creepy again “We’re watching yoouuuu…” Then she crawled and barked at me for a couple seconds. Finally I got her to wake up, and she had no memory of saying any of it.
That’s the last creepy thing that happened. My faith in Christ was growing stronger each day and I honestly think the demons were lashing out because they lost another soul to Jesus.

I'm more skeptical about stories regarding mothman or MIB and such, but this stuff I don't mess with. I first heard about lucid dreaming and had experienced the cool aspects of it before knowing anything about it like dreams where I could control my actions and had cool abilities like flight and such. When I heard people claim it was possible to enter that sort of dream intentionally I thought "awesome! I got to read up on that and see if there's anything to it so I can try". The more I read though the more I saw how frequently the stories of people trying to bring on a lucid dream often where closely tied to experiences having sleep paralysis as they entered into a trance sort of state and then feeling demonic pressures and I quickly decided it seemed too real and something that I should keep my distance from.

I suffered from sleep paralysis almost every night many years before I was saved, back when I had a heroin addiction. I didn't know it had a name, or that it was a somewhat common experience till only a few years ago. The feeling was so horrible, I couldn't speak or move or anything, and i thought i was going to die the more stronger the feeling got. At the same time i would feel a very dark, evil presence in the room just waiting for me to leave my body so it could enter. (This is the sense that i got every time) A few times I even left my body, and would find myself up on the ceiling or partially out of my body before being snapped back into myself and waking up. It was also often accompanied by bizarre and very loud sounds, like smashing and crashing of metal or really loud, heavy metal music, or weird UFO-like sounds (or at least how they are depicted as sounding).
It hasn't happened for years now, though sometimes -very rarely - as I'm snoozing off in my chair watching videos, I'll feel it coming on very lightly, but it never manifests properly. It was one of the most frightening things I've ever experienced in my life. Thank you Lord Jesus for your protection!
Edit: i need to add that this all started after i stayed in these old decrepit rooming houses in Sydney, after a night of horrible nightmares of being harassed by demons. Needless to say, I wasn't a Christian at the time, but i knew it was demonic because i had been raised a Jehovah's witness. I'm not a JW now, I'll never go back I've been born again in Christ and freed from my addiction . Sorry this was so long!

I'm 66 now. I never knew there was such a thing, but when I was 14 years old, this happened to me. A white hooded robe-clad figure appeared by my window while I lay awake in bed. I struggled for a rational explanation so decided it had to be my mother come into my room to check on me, even tho I saw it go from transparent to solid. So I tried to say "mom, is that you?" But the words stuck in my throat and I could not speak. I then tried to get up to leave the room and found that I could not move. The only difference is I was not filled with terror and didn't feel a weight on my chest or anything like that. My eyes were stuck on the figure by my window which then started to disappear and as soon as it was gone my body shot up in bed from all my trying to get up. I left my bedroom and went downstairs and slept in my sister's room with her after getting a glass of milk. Shortly after this experience I ran away from home and traveled around the country with my boyfriend. I argued with people against God for a long time as an atheist. When I thought back to this I thought it was an angel but now I have decided it was probably a demon, but i really dont know if maybe it was an angel sent to protect me for the dangerous times ahead. I wasn't doing any psychedelics when this happened. Completely sober. This was the only time that happened.

I’ve had sleep paralysis a few times. Once in high school and another time in college. During high school, I woke up and saw a dark figured man standing in the far corner of my room. I couldn’t scream or move. He slowly walked closer to me, pulled out a knife and stabbed my chest. I woke immediately and was terrified.
In college, I had a roommate in the basement who started dating a girl and I found out was going weed in our basement. He started acting depressed. I found him listening to extremely loud, evil music. He’s cut himself and I’d find him completely hysterical. Finally he had a pistol laying on his dresser. So my roommates and I had a intervention with him asking what’s going on. He agreed to get rid of the weed and pistol. That night, I woke up in the middle of the night tossing and turning. I was sleeping on my side and all a sudden something shoved me on my stomach and my face in the pillow. I couldn’t turn over. I prayed for Christ to save me. The pressure on my back was gone. During it, it felt like something (demonic spirit) was angry. Probably because us Christians were calling out the evil and were carrying out steps to help our friend. Our friend ended up throwing his girlfriends stuff on the street and threw the glass terrariums for the weed on the pavement. Ever since then, he has been his old self that he knew before

I had something like this that happened to me for several years when I was a child. Sometimes it would happen when I was laying there fully awake and sometimes I would wake up and it would be there. But it was definitely demonic. It was like this kind of shapeless void in my room it wasn't a shadow or anything like that you couldn't see the stuff on the other side of the room through it but you can see the stuff on the other side of the room around it. Like I said it was kind of like a shapeless blob roughly oval shape that would just stand beside my bed at night several nights a week. There weren't any doors on the rooms in my house that I grew up in so laying in my bed I could look over and see my mom and dad laying in their bed,but I couldnt yell for them and I couldnt move. Like I was literally paralyzed from fear

Both my arms were pinned, on either side of my head, on my pillow. My husband was sleeping soundly beside me. I felt something on top of me, heavy breathing in my face. Now, I'm a Christian, so I don't know why, I couldn't think to call on Jesus. Instead, I called on my husband. I whispered, "Kelvin, help me, Kelvin, help me.." on about the 3rd time, he touched my leg, and said, "I'm here." And then I was ok. I thought I had actually been asleep. So I rolled over and didn't think anymore about it. Till the next day... I woke up, and saw this strange mark on one of my arms. It looked like a claw mark, long.. and felt like a burn. I knew it wasn't there the night before. It took a few days to go away. Then a while later, I was asleep in bed one morning, after my husband had left for work. I was laying on my side, when suddenly, I felt something on top of me, heavy breathing in my ear.. When I sat up, it left. I laid back down, and it came back.. same thing, heavy breathing in my ear. I jumped up, and got out of bed. Funny thing is, I had a sense of what it looked like. It had black, stringy, greasy hair that hung down into it's eyes, that were red. It had claws, and it's clothing was black, long, with a hood. I had a feeling that it stayed in my closet till night time, when it would stand at the foot of my bed. Several people in my household had seen it. My mom said several times, she saw my husband walk past her bedroom, when my husband was asleep. (my mom lives with me.) Eventually, I cast it out of my home, commanded it to leave in the name of Jesus Christ ✝️

I experience sleep paralysis on rare occasions. If that happens while I'm lying on my back I do start feeling pressure on my chest, like someone is pushing down on me, but I can breathe. And if I'm laying on my side I don't experience the pressure. But I never saw any entities or a demon sitting on me or the hat man. When I wake up like this I just say, "OK, here we go again", and just wait for it to pass and go back to sleep.
I am Christian, reformed baptist even, so I do want to take this seriously and correct my understanding of it if necessary. Perhaps these demonic things happen to more important Christians than me, who do more for God?
Don't get me wrong, I never want to experience seeing the hat man or other figures in the darkness, and I hope, after listening to this podcast and learning about this, I don't get any ideas.
I listened to Eli Ayala's show he did with Cultish a few months ago, and at one point sleep paralysis was mentioned. I don't remember the topic of the show (how easily we forget these things when there's so much to listen to today...), but the whole conversation in the episode made me think more about demonic influences in a life of a Christian. Is it something that we should pay more attention to? Because we know we have the Holy Spirit indwelling us, but could our bodies still be susceptible to demonic influences through depression, melancholy, and similar states of mind (which I experienced during the last couple of years, though much less these last few months)? I mean, these beings are intelligent and presumably know exactly how to oppress anyone personally and subtly, just enough to distract or incapacitate them in service to God, or for whatever other reason they do what they do.

I used to have sleep paralysis quite a bit as a child, teen and in my early adulthood and I'm so grateful that I haven't had the experience in many years.
I have woken up to see shadow figures but I cover my head with my blanket and the figure is gone when I feel brave enough to peek out.
I have also always seen super fast shadow figures run by out of the corner of my eye during the day but vanish as soon as I'm startled and look in the direction it came from.
I don't have any memory of a figure in a hat and definitely no red eyes but the one I wake up to appears to be clothed in a hooded robe and the ones I see for a split second during the day just have the shape of a human shadow face.
Only once have I heard one laugh from another room and it sounded identical to my cousin's laugh but I hadn't seen her in years and I lived alone.
There was one other time that a white mist figure was floating above my bed and I quickly hid under my cover but I didn't have a feeling of pure evil from that experience even though I still don't believe in good spirits.
I listen to the testimonies of formal witches and satanists that turned to Christ and they talk about practicing teleporting into people's homes at night. I forgot the actual word they use for it but I believe everything they say about it. One formal witch said that she couldn't see anything but a white veil covering the homes of faithful Christians.
I don't believe in organized religion because Jesus was and is against it so I just refer to myself as a woman of faith and leave it at that.

I've never had sleep paralysis but I have seen the hat man when I was in elementary school. Me, my sisters, and my friends were walking back from playing at an abandoned school. While I was absently looking around I caught him out of the corner of my eye, crossing the street away from us. When I focused my vision, there was nothing there. But I still kept an eye out for the rest of the walk back home. I even wrote about it during a school assignment about what I did over the summer. I wonder what the teacher thought. This was even years before I ever heard about shadow people or the hat man.

Went through this most my life. When you wake up paralyzed and can't move or speak, I would think the name of Jesus and it would let go enough to where I could say the name of Jesus out loud & and it would evaporate even sometimes hiss like it hurt and would completely go away.

I've experienced sleep paralysis twice. The first time was when I was 24. I was going through a lot of mental health struggles at the time and I ended up falling asleep on my back on my couch and I "woke up" and couldn't move. I tried desperately to get off the couch and call to my mom who was visiting. I don't remember seeing or feeling an entity in the room with me just that I couldn't move. The second time it happened it was the very first night in our new house as newlyweds. This time I "woke up" and actually saw someone standing in the hallway. It was a woman with long black hair covering her face and she was just staring at me. Again I couldn't move and I desperately tried to get my husband's attention but he wouldn't wake up. I've read that falling asleep on your back is the only time it can happen. If you fall asleep on your side it won't happen.

Lilith is mentioned in Isaiah 34:14 as the night bird, night creature or night monster, but the hebrew word is lilith and apparently it is only mentioned there. I had to look it up when the speaker said it was in the bible.

I have been plagued by night paralysis. Actually I dismiss most “entity” sightings due to this phenomenon. It first started in my 30’s where I would see a tall silhouette standing outside my master bedroom. I had them almost every week until I moved out of that house. I would have them on and off after I moved out but they were different but the same that someone was unseen in the hallway but I knew it was there. It went on and off for awhile and then we bought a new home and moved out to my current home. Then about 5 or 6 years ago they began again. I was able to wake myself typically by rocking my body back and forth or trying to call out to my wife. She would wake me up and say you were yelling and moaning but I don’t see anyone or feel dread. I feel like I can’t breathe. I still have them and had one earlier this week.
I will try prayer next time to clear anything giving me nightmares.

My sister and I have both experienced this with the hat guy. We were both hurt by our older sister in the same way growing up. Our hatman ALWAYS has a demonically sexual presence to him like he's going to hurt us. This only happened to me a few times, but it's common for my sister. It's been happening for years and we JUST told each other about it. I drew a picture, and we're seeing the exact same thing. I told her it's a demon, and we need to rebuke it like a demon. I haven't seen it since rebuking it, my sister still sees him.

47:57 good example is Tunnel Pipes (We All Like Tunnel Pipes). It’s a song on TH-cam, but when I was an unbeliever, I used certain substances, and heard and saw things. Songs were definitely a gateway to the demonic and enhance that kind of spiritual experience. Now I know how wicked that thing was, but Jesus Christ delivered me from that, and most of all from my own wickedness. Christ has put those demons to open shame in His victory on the cross. Praise God

I had sleep paralysis that went away completely after I repented of sexual sin. Oddly enough, it started when I was a preteen when I wasn't sexually active. I think because I was sexually abused by my father that gave the demons access at that time.

Nope, can’t listen to the full thing. If it didn’t have the background creepy noises I would. But if I feel a little bit of fear when I’m listening to something like this I stop. I’ve had some nights where I have to cry out to Jesus to be able to be free and have a good nights sleep. But listening to this I feel might open up a door for my sleep to be disturbed tonight.

I’m a Christian and this happened to me a few times but it was not POV he just came into my room and was leaning over me watching me. And I’ve also had a “succubus” experience
