My hair has been super dry and I've lost a lot of it since COVID. It does grow back often but I have a few tiny areas where I can see the scalp/bald spot at times through my hair which has been SUPER thick my whole life. I've been cutting it myself during this time (I am now 39 years old) and sometimes I feel like I haven't cut it properly, and that may be affecting it at the roots and/or scalp. The middle part of my hair doesn't feel nearly as thick as it did. I refuse to believe in "male pattern..." that sounds like giving up to me. Epigenetics>>>>Genetics! I'm really healthy generally but I feel like there's something missing emotionally or nutritionally or in my environment (my bathroom is kind of too humid because the fan broke and my landlord refuses to replace it [mold!!?], that may be an issue). Anyone have any tips?
My hair feels like straw and I haven’t done any of these. I used to put my hair up in a pony tail but I don’t anymore. I only wash my hair once a week as it could damage you hair if you wash it to much, though I might just start watching it twice a week~

Thank you so much. Great tips, this happened to recently, I was washing my hair too frequently and not using much conditioner as it was making my hair limp. Switched up my shampoo and conditioner and eliminated heat for a while. Beautiful location 🤩
My hair has been feeling like straw for the last two years I have tried everything from no using heat on my hair. Washing my hair to once a week, using hot oils such as olive Argan and coconut oil to even avacado and jobaba oil and nothing has worked. I don’t know what to do I try use serums to maintain it but it still becomes crispy and straw like.

I am trying new things like water rise treatment, and flaxseed gel, I just love flaxseed gel, I you ever try it ? But I just discover you and writing down tips you give and products you use like Olaplex 3, terax crema etc thanks so much 🌈💐
Hii , I’ve been a swimmer for a couple of years now. When I just started swimming, my hair was transitioning from straight to curly. I didn’t know that back then, now that I’m older I started notice why my hair wasn’t as straight anymore. So I started to reduce heat on my hair and use the methods I’ve read, it made my hair way better but it never gave me the “perfect” results I wanted to see. So I started thinking about why it wouldn’t and it’s definitely because I swim a lot. I’ve been on a break for a couple of weeks now. It started out amazing but now it just looks dead and feels really dry and even painful. Does anyone know what I should do? ( English isn’t my first language so sorry if the grammar isn’t used properly😅)
Have you done anything else to your hair that it could be painful? Dyed you hair? How often are you washing it and how much and how hard are you washing your hair?
I don't dye my hair. I don't use any heat I brush very carefully I only wash my hair twice a week I never go swimming Hair feels like straw with or without a cut. I don't eat poorly I am not on any medication
I have natural curly hair & it has always been extremely thick I also Don’t have any oil in my hair. So my routine is I wash it once a week I use a leave in conditioner the one you recommended by Shea moisture? I do olapex as well cause my hair is dry, frizzy but just the top layer? The underneath is soft and willing to curl, idk how to make the top layer to curl like the underside? Also my hair is down to my waist, will the weight stop it from curling?
And hard water and extreme humidity and heat climate combined. I'm never cutting the length of my long hair, but I would like to have less of a battle with tangles. My long, wavy hair is a symbol of my freedom from a malignant narcissistic mother. She can't take this away from me anymore. I wish I could find a product that works as well as my sea salt texture spray, but nothing gives me the perfect mermaid beachy waves(2b/c) quite like it. And it's been discontinued. There are just so many factors. You mentioned menopause, and I'm entering into it. I'm also chronically ill, so I have to take medications to survive. TH-cam is great, but it's also depressing because we'll never have the perfect hair we see these influencers with. Things are so expensive. I hope your well though. I'm reading comments at 6 am trying to get to bed😩
@@YurinanAcquiline yeah it does. If the cuticles on the hair shaft are not closed from damage, this will make the hair feel rough but it can't physically change the thickness of the hair itself.
