This was by far the most informative and easy to follow guide for used i3 that I’ve seen yet. Well done!

Thank you! I really love hearing that. I absolutely love my i3 and hopefully that passion came through in the video.

nice to see that some people are still happy with this amazing car!
There is one more interesting option: Adaptive led lights, and an optional heat pump. (at least in Europe). It's a very much under valued EV, with an amazing low battery degradation.

I’m fascinated by it! Here in the U.S., the LEDs are adaptive beginning I believe with the 2019 MY and only automatically level due to our archaic laws at the time. All full BEV i3 models in the U.S. have a heat pump as standard equipment.

i3S also has wheel arch trims in black to accomodate the wider track and tyres. good info, great car.

Very nice straight forward video, Thanks. I was surprised that you didn't mention the G3 communications that was changed to G4 somewhere in the 2017 year (I think). And that the G3s are not upgradable.
Me; I'm hunting the 2018 or later I3s Rex model. I owned a Fiat 500e and got burned almost every week by that 90 mile range.

Glad you enjoyed it! Also, I wasn’t 100% sure about that G3 to G4 telecommunications changeover so I didn’t raise it in the video, but it’s a good point and buyers should be aware that any pre-2018 model may have outdated G3 communications and wouldn’t be able to use the app, etc. Also interesting that you had a 500e, as that was the first EV I owned back in 2013!

@@MichaelDrivesOfficial My first EV as well. When I bought it is when I learned that FIAT just like BMW are not going to do anything about it. If the I3 or 500e had the sales numbers the early Nissan has I think someone would build a fix although I do see I3 recoding kits which are about $50 for everything are now out for the I3. It's just such a usable size. What a totally cutting edge car in 2014. Not bad for today actually.

If you want to save time and hassle, get the Rex....this even extends the life of the battery.

    • @Eishocker
      @Eishocker 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Recommendation of a rex in a time when the combuster technology passes away? Curios. 2nd and more important: The rex only charges the battery. This has no physical/chemical advantage for the battery. It's more reciprocal. The battery is more often charged because of the rex, even while driving. That shortens the life of the battery. Take the 120Ah battery and you will be fine for 95% of your trips.

@@Eishocker for me the rex is there so i never fast charge i never use public chargers i only charge at home which is of course good for the battery
my battery has lost no capacity in it's 6 years and even if it did, the rex is there, so to sum up with rex i have a ev with no downside i never needed it , no hassle for me no planning journeys no waiting for it to charge if i want to drive anywhere in the uk i can.....without a plan...

@@whocares264 Sorry, there is no hassle with 120Ah. In Germany, where i am resident, i travel 200km even on the highway. After 200km I need a pause and pee and buy a coffee where I charge if needed. At home I charge from my photovoltaic system.
The BMW i3s 120Ah is the best and most reliable small car I have ever owned.
And moreover I "kill" every BMW M3 starting from traffic lights.

@@whocares264 true, plus most I3 owners have been given bad information about charging to 100% all the time, it's no different to other batteries in preferring to sit at a low charge in hot weather or to be charged in a smaller range for longevity, eg. 50-70%, with the REX I can do that and not be caught out if I want to do a long trip. The only real difference is the lower nickel content so it's not so damaging or slow charging when going from 80-100%.

Good to hear from a I3 rex fan , I am with octopus here in the uk I have the car set to change to 80% and it only costs 7p per kwh so less than 2p per mile , it is a car which is hard to replace.

Very shallow review..no interior points, space or comfort statistiques..highs and lows..
