After my conversion to Christ, at 22 years old, many years ago, I began reading my precious Bible intensely. Later providence led me to the wonderful Reformed preachers of that time and the wonderful Puritans... and others from the past. Besides my Bible the 1st book I read, and meditated on, yet today in 2023, 50 years later from 1973, was Dr. Martyn Lloyd -jones. Today at almost 80, I still say, with all the great 100's or 1,000's of the great books of past and present preachers, the volume that changed a young convert as none really before or after...is his "Studies in the Sermon on the Mount." I thank God today that in the 1970's this gifted man of God was alive and well and answered my letter to him re how/what his book had done for this young Christian and we corresponded for 5 years. How I treasured that time and experience always. I have read...and heard all his writings and the audio sermons that are available, thanks to him & his surviving family after he went on to glory.

Along with the Bible, MLJ 'Studies in the Sermon on the Mount' and 'Spiritual Depression' and Spiritual Warfare- Ephesians sermons' the Lord used to heal my depression and set me straight on mistaken ideas I received from (some helpful, though) mostly indifferent preaching over years. I think Dr Martyn Lloyd-Jones teaches Christians to think with so many blessings flowing to Christians in workplaces as well as other fields, missions etc Through the MLJ Trust and Banner of Truth we have been richly blessed. As you mention, thanks to the Doctor's foresight, and his family's ensuring many, if not most Puritan works weren't lost to us.(I hope to read Christopher Catherwood's biography of his grandfather). The documentary "Logic on Fire"(2015) my husband and I have watched repeatedly. It must have been wonderful to correspond with the Doctor, have his instruction and fellowship thereby. So great to hear this particular sermon again and be encouraged by your testimony...what a start you were blessed with in the providence of our great God.
