@@narionario54321 yeah because they're not as funny. I think there's potential but the usual quicksand is used so much just to have something that kills you when you touch it. Lava only does damage and death planes kill you within a certain distance

I'm honestly surprised that the "obscure enemy" wasn't the Bouncing Blade, a weird blue... spike thing that can only be found in a jar in level 5-2. There's only one in the entire Mario franchise, and it's so out of place that there's debate on whether it's a test object that was left in by mistake.

Did you notice the dark frame in this game's intro? The framed portion of the screen is the same size, in terms of pixels, as a GBC screen! It literally shows off how much more screen you have!

Okay I looked into it, apparently that thing is called a "Spark Chaser" and can be used to clear out sparks. It doesn't hurt you so it's not even enemy. More of an item.

Spark Chasers, also known as Faceballs, are objects appearing in Super Mario Advance. They clear out Sparks on the floor, ceiling, and walls, and are harmless to players.

@@vurvo574 that’s a good argument for why you should count Wario Land, not for why you shouldn’t count Yoshi’s Island. Fortunately Yoshi’s Island has many other reasons it’s considered a mainline Mario game.
mario advance 1 is imo the definitive smb2, but if you didn’t grow up with it then you’ll hate the screen crunch. its not as bad as deluxe’s crunch, thankfully.

FYI, when you get to Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World, completing the game technically includes getting to a certain point in Mario Bros. Classic, as it has 1 to 5 stars on its selection. Or at least I think it has up to 5, I’ve made it as far as phase 78 and have 4 stars. It’s probably 5, as that’s what you get after completing Super Mario World on it’s menu selection.
