watching this vedio and simultaneously watching tata steel flames through the window i am damn proud of my city...
Jamshedji founding the Tata Steel gave jobs to thousands. My father came to know about a Steel Plant in far away Jamshedpur hiring people. He travelled all the way from Kerala to this unknown destination in the hope of getting a job. He got a job there. Another twenty people from the village followed him and ended up in Jamshedpur. We were brought up there. But for Jamshedji, many would have rotted under poverty and starvation. Thank you Jamshedji. Thank You.

i have been working with tata group for past 3 years...although currently the condition in tcs is same as other private companies sometimes even worse...but seeing the tata dynasty and history..i am proud to be working for tata group..
My Grandfather used to work at Tata in Jamshedpur. I am not sure what year he started but he retired in 1952/53. He would have fitted right in with Jamshedji as he was a kind gentle man and was loved by all. There were hundreds of people to see him and my Gran off at the station when he left. I think he was a bookkeeper/paymaster. Always spoke of his life in Jamshedpur with great affection. I visited when I was a baby. India is always in my heart.

Jamshedpur has not changed much but some suburbs have been developed which would have been barren then ...you will like it if you visit us..

Steohenveritas8, the response to the insult at 7:24 was to build the Taj Mahal Hotel (with no entry restictions), which you can see around 8:32. Try Google Maps/Street View (use Gateway of India as an adjacent landmark).
Regrettably the better Bird's Eye view in Bing Maps does not show sharp images at low level there.
It is an extremely famous incident and has achieved legendary status (for those connected with Bombay).
