Hi and happy new year to you , thankyou for watching and subscribing, I’m glad you enjoyed the vlog, Maryland is a beautiful place to live , watched your blog on visiting Santa, unfortunately there was no Santa visits in the uk this year , the screen was a good idea .😀😀👍👍
Great vlog again Martin. Happy New Year. I have not fitted my new air pump yet. Hopefully this week sometime. It’s been -6 degrees here where I live also. My pond is not heated or covered but to be honest it never has been. Pond temperature the other day was 3.5 degrees 😡. Thanks for sharing 👍🐟
Happy new year my friend , 3.5 corr that’s a bit parky, yeah minus 6 couldn’t believe it when I got up and went to take the dog out , get that pump on 😂 I’m really impressed so far 👍👍😀😀
Great pumps. I have both of those and used for approx 1 week only. Large one bought for a retro drain now removed so bought the smaller for my airstones. Since have bought an eazypod which came with new air pump so currently running that. Certainly agree the Jebao are quieter and cheaper to run.
Happy new year graham , agree with you mate so far they seem to be really good pumps and at a wallet friendly price point , time will tell if they are as robust and reliable as the EA pumps but I’m impressed so far 👍👍😀😀
Happy new year mate, I remember those pain full days of rewiring boxes, I put everything on IP rated standard plug sockets now, so much easier to replace things without killing the power, think I got them from screwfix, about a fiver each, worth every penny
Hi Michael, thanks mate , it did cross my mind when I was buildingthis pond to go that route but I just love the matsuko switch boxes , it would of been a lot quicker and easier if I could of felt my fingers 😂, I’ve got a few up rated switch boxes and plug sockets darted around skimmer pump ashp etc . Happy new year 👍👍😀😀
@@K.W.P.R hi mate, I still have the switch boxes, I just fitted single waterproof plug sockets to each of the outputs from the box so I can just unplug anything I want without having to kill the power. I still have the switch boxes working as normal to turn pumps on and off, its just a hell of a lot easier to put a 3 pin plug onto a new pump or UV ect then it is to rewire direct in to the box. I did this after one of my uv's developed a fault and was tripping everything off, even with the switches turned off it was tripping the power and I had to disconnect everything from the switch boxs to find out what was causing the problem, now I can just unplug everything and try one thing at a time in minutes.
Happy new year to you , I’m adding extra media as my fish load is getting bigger with the koi growing and feeding all winter , my water tests are spot on before adding the media but by adding more now it’s a precaution for spring and summer , the only way you can truest measure its affects is no spikes in ammonia nitrite etc but you can , by physically looking at it ,tell how fast it’s maturing, I.e settling in the water and colour change as the bio film builds 👍👍😀😀
I got a 50ltr bag of K1+ media for half price direct from EA as I'd just purchased a new 220+ filter and it came with the old media.I gave them a call to have a bit of a moan and they were brilliant about it and 2 days later I had the new media 👍
@@K.W.P.R I already had 40ltrs of mature K1 and just added the 50ltrs of K1+ media to it. Probably took around 10 days for it all to start sinking but all ok now 👌
Thanks martyn , it’s definitely a cold one this year , thing is there’s not a lot else to do now than play around outside by the pond , roll on spring thanks for watching and a happy new year to you 👍👍😀😀
Keep up the good work with the videos... Very informative. Where did you get your red electric box from please... Looks much easier to wire than the one I'm using
Hi Kev , it’s a matsuko switch box , there are a few different models with timers and pump guards that learn how the normal operation of your pumps works then monitors it and shuts it down or slows it down if there is a problem , they are pricey , but if you shop around on line there are bargains to be had ,think I got mine from eBay 👍👍😀😀
did you find the PA 35 ok for your bottom drain air flow ? I`m having the same issue. Was thinking of the 45 but if 35 is ok then I will get one of those instead
Thanks mark , I get what your saying but by adding the extra media to the nexus it puts that size pump on its limit , well according to EA and by running 2 if one fails I’m still putting 02 in to the water 😀😀👍👍
@@K.W.P.R I’m glad you have done a review on air pump as I’ve been buying second hand air pumps but been looking at these for a while now I will be buying one
Nice one Martin, keep us updated on the K+ and the pumps buddy. Stay safe & well my friend.
Will do my friend, I’m really interested in the k+ to see if it does what it says on the packet , you stay safe to 😀😀👍👍
Thanks for this unboxing vlog. Greetings and Happy New Year from Maryland my friend 🥳🎉🌹🍻

@@MikeZak101 clever idea that mate worth thinking about , 👍👍😀😀😀
What is the purpose of adding K+ media? How will you measure it's effects? Great video as usual.

Bit of a result there Glynne👍did you put both in ? If you did have you noticed if the k+ is maturing faster than standard k1 👍👍😀😀

Hi chris , the 35 is plenty powerful for the bottom drain in fact I’ve had to t off and vent some air to stop it boiling to much 👍👍😀😀
I dropped down to a Hailea v20 on my bottom drain and I have found that as powerful as I would like it.
-6 thats not too bad. Actually a bit warmer here.
I have to get air pump soon for my nexus that I will be hooking up in the spring. This is great.
Good video buddy
Cheers mark 👍👍😀😀
Why not use the EA air pump for both nexus and bottom drain

K1 is so expensive but its great..
Good thing about the k+ is it’s the same price as k1 , at the moment I should say ..👍👍😂😂
