Preparedness for shocks: the UK had a 'plan' to deal with an epidemic, but it was the wrong one - flu. I don't think the country has still adjusted to the actual pandemic that turned up on our doorstep. And even our preparedness was undermined by the Health Secretary who refused to implement the recommendations of the 2016 Cygnus emergency exercise.
Seeing lots of COVID around in Sheffield (personally know more than 5 people who have caught it just this week), I think that spike may not have peaked yet... anecdotally. It's annoying how people cannot report positive tests in the community any more.
