Actually, plugs have three prongs in America as well. It's just that at the time this game takes place, two prong plugs were more common.
I'm American, and when I was younger, basically everyone's plugs had two 'nubbies'. The first time I saw one with three, I asked my dad about it and he said it was for safety reasons. Our house only had outlets that could support two nubbies, so we had to have a power strip for our vacuum cleaner. I've since moved to an older house, and we still use LOTS of power strips. Most American plugs still have two, though.
In japan, they have 2 tall nubs. They're actually called prongs iirc

This game looks really interesting. The whole series does really. I can definitely see why people were so pissed at Nintendo for making it a platformer.

@DazzLetsPlays I've watched pretty much everything from both of your channels (not including zzadazz), even the stuff I wasn't into at the time (LoZ) or I'm still not interested in (SotC and LiS [a bit]). The exceptions are the "top 10 creepiest pokemon" video and the Portal 2 credits video, but I doubt the latter had anything other than the credits, and as for the former, I don't like scary stuff.

I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be pronounced 'foh' news, as in fake, as a little jab at news stations. I never would have gotten the joke that it's supposed to be a parody of Fox News, though.

I think Tao's name is pronounce "Dou" like the religion, however I've been playing this game since i got a game cube and I've always said it like "Tay-O" like you, and will continue to say "tay-O" because i grew up saying it.
Also, is this really based in the 1950's? i never realized it, but thinking back it makes a bit of sense, since the most advanced thing we really see that came from humans is chibi-robo. Huh, i never knew.

I imagine that all the other pikmin just have little holes where ears should be
