I ordered the same kit for my 5.0 and I ran into the same issue as you with the flange not being on before they welded the pipe. I don’t have access to a welder currently so I’m trying to figure out what to do, doesn’t look like I’ll be installing it today like I had planned.
I have the WWP side exit kit on my 2016 F150 (install video on my channel). I deleted the resonator as well and love how this exhaust sounds. Much deeper than most.

Take it to an exhaust shop. They can make a cut and tack it back for you. Shouldn’t cost much at all.
That’s actually what I ended up doing. Now it’s finally install time and can’t wait to hear it. Really appreciate you making this video.

How does it drive with it. Does it flow better or does it feel restricted at any point especially under heavy acceleration?
Does it drone during hwy driving?
It doesn’t. It’s only aggressive during acceleration and goes quiet below 2k rpm.
