Heard a scream just like this on a mountain top cabin in the catskills near big indian summit with not a soul around and everyone asleep at 12:45am. I walked out to the shed to get some dried wood to stoke the fire in the stove. It was about 25 yards from the cabin. When I was coming out for a second trip this echoed deep in the woods. Needless to say I went back inside and didn't come out until morning. This was 1995.

This is one of the only videos I can find that sounds similar to the roars I heard in the lost coast of California. Near shelter cove. Crazy thing is I also heard a dog barking back and they sounded so different. I’ve also heard elk. Nothing like a bugle. The craziest thing is about an hour before I heard the roars I was walking my dogs in the forest near our campsite and I heard something big in the trees. I stopped, hoping an elk would come out. Then it got quiet for about 30 seconds and then I heard the loudest wood knock “BANG”!! It was SO loud. Like someone with a wood bat hitting a tree. No joke!! Only happened once. I looked at my dogs. They looked perplexed too lol. I decided to go back to camp. And then to hear the roars later was just freaky!! So loud!!!

This is one of the only videos I can find that sounds similar to the roars I heard in the lost coast of California. Near shelter cove. Crazy thing is I also heard a dog barking back and they sounded so different. I’ve also heard elk. Nothing like a bugle. The craziest thing is about an hour before I heard the roars I was walking my dogs in the forest near our campsite and I heard something big in the trees. I stopped, hoping an elk would come out. Then it got quiet for about 30 seconds and then I heard the loudest wood knock “BANG”!! It was SO loud. Like someone with a wood bat hitting a tree. No joke!! Only happened once. I looked at my dogs. They looked perplexed too lol. I decided to go back to camp. And then to hear the roars later was just freaky!! So loud!!!
