Funny how people saying its a 1939. Looks like a 1940 to me with the smooth hubs aluminum dash and 4 spoke wheel. My 47 2n don't have all that.

The aluminum dash and sterring box and the smooth rear hubs , horizontal front grill slates make it a 39 .

The aluminum dash/steering boxes were used until early '41. Smooth hub were used until somewhere around serial number 40K in 1940. Horizontal grills were used until late '40 when the '41 solid vertical bar was introduced. The 4 spoke steering wheel is also original which would have ended in 1940

@@kirk-nj6344 We had a mid year production 1939 9N that had the veritcal front grill, cast iron dash and transmission cover, and the six bolt axles. Have you looked up the serial number on this tractor? I agree with Andy Sol, it really looks like it is earlier production than 1940. Of course, after 70 years, many parts could have been replaced or updated with the only ones available. A huge amount of the parts were common to the 9N-2N-8N tractor line.

@@cdjhyoung No it's a 1940 bought from original owner. All original paperwork. There has been nothing switch out on this tractor except for grill and the tires. The "oversize" tires 11.2x28 came with the tractor which was an option at that time.

...wow.. that's a nice one!...still has the smooth hubs, 4 spoke steering wheel...obviously, the grill is not original...a great restoration candidate!

It's a '40 not a '39. Bought it from original owner and have the original bill of sale.

...nope...the 40's had a lot of the early features the '39's had, too...it has the single-rib rear fenders...the earlier 2-rib type were most likely found only on the '39's...plus, the '40's also had the aluminum grills with the horizontal bars, like the 39's...obviously, this is not the original grill in this tractor...
