3. You don't talk about veer savarkar whose book inspired Bhagat Singh.

Many important incidents left out or ignored:
1. Khilafat movement - fiasco
2. Naval mutiny in Mumbai and its effects on the Britishers
3. The role of the revolutionaries.
4. Gadar movement
5. Red Fort trial
6. Total silence on Savarkar.
In fact, totally followed the official line without adding anything new.
Decision to grant independene to India was taken way before Naval mutiny. India remianed in Dominion status till 1950 and self rule was already in the manifesto of British Labour Party in 1945 uncleji

1.1857:brahmin and low cast story to batai lekin sekh paltu jisne mangal pandey ko pakra and british ko handover kia.uski kahani chupa gaye Rajput saab.sekh paltu was promoted later on for treachery .Again 1857 revolt is incomplete without contribution of peswa nana saheb and tatya tope.
2.krishna balawant rai fadke:a man who started gurila war fare against british and was silently taken to yamen and hanged.was smartly skipped.
3.Bal gangadhar tilak:guru of veer savarkar and competitor of gokhle,was sent to rangoon jail for wrighting article in support of khudi ram bose .after which congress was in hand of gokhle and his disiple gandhiji.
4.veer sawarkar and INDIA HOUSE:its strange you skipped such important part of indias struggle movment.india house and sawarkars brothers sacrifice,madan lal Dhingra so many...
5. Kala pani and khilafat movement.
6. Ali brothers reqest for making india a sultanant.

I am a tribe from south odisha, tribes didn't allow the Britishers to inter their areas, many of them killed but at the end tribes got their success. Now the same tribes are dependent on missionaries.

Even after independence he lived in independent India for 19 years but still didn't badmouth the Britisher who have done 200 years of oppression. While butukeshwar dutt who was also sentenced to kaala pani jail completed his whole sentence and participated in the quit India movement. Even bose in his Berlin speech condemned Savarkar and jinnah for supporting the Brits. Savarkar recruited Indian soldier to fight against azaad hind fauz of bose to show his loyalty to brits.
The books I have read are India's struggle for independence by Bipan Chandra, From Plassey to Partition, Inglorious Empire by Shashi Tharoor, {{why I am an athiest by Bhagat Singh}}, {{Inquilab by S. Irfan Habib}}, {{13 years by Ramchandra Singh}}, All writings of Bhagat Singh, Annihilation of Caste (ambedkar), Book written by the judge who sentenced death to Godse, Gandhi: what is hinduism, Gandhi by Roman Rolland, Gandhi hind swaraj , Gandhi autobiography. The Indian struggle and azad hind of bose, arthik evam videsh neeshi and our Indian problems by sardar vallabhai patel, "gandhi, Nehru, Subhash" By patel and the discovery of India by nehru. All this books but some I have not read it fully, but know the essence.

Btw subhash bose condemed savarkar on radio in 1942-43 for boycotting "Quit India Movement" and encouraging youth to NOT participate in it (cuz he was compelled to serve the british as per his own words in mafinama)
When I look at savarkar, I don't have any hate for him for serving the british cuz I understand that he was in the fear of getting jailed once again.
Neither do I have any respect cuz afterall he gave up in the kala pani jail while many 100s of revolutionaries either didn't give up or joined back protests after getting released unlike savarkar who didn't raise a single voice again british post 1924 (when he was released).

When I look at savarkar, I don't have any hate for him for serving the british cuz I understand that he was in the fear of getting jailed once again.
Neither do I have any respect cuz afterall he gave up in the kala pani jail while many 100s of revolutionaries either didn't give up or joined back protests after getting released unlike savarkar who didn't raise a single voice again british post 1924 (when he was released).

Bose and Nehru had impacted the young minds and Gandhi was favourite of all age groups. Later Bose choose militant way where as Nehru chose non-violence. In short freedom movement was not possible without Gandhi, because he was a crowd puller.

The credit for Independence goes to every man and women along with the leaders who stood tall and fought against the injustice. Everyone played their part and role, many at national level and many more at local level, we sit at our comfortable rooms and criticize some of these leaders but the truth is that the Independence was won not because of one man or one method but because of contribution made by every single Indian in whatever ways they could, some fought and some took part in satyagraha
