    Amazing to think how old this music is yet it still comes down to us and is being heard. Would love to see people dancing to this!

    Best version of this I’ve heard this song and played it since the 1974 or something like that. I’ve heard thousands of versions of this this is very cool and the sound quality is phenomenal.

    I heard a group called Fanus also playing this piece on a hurdygurdy.

    A bailar en las ferias al son de los músicos cortesanos, con las musas y vengan los caballeros a las justas con sus caballos y armaduras mientras el borrachito es puesto en un cepo! Bravísimo!!

    Amazing! I especially like the middle eastern feel of this arrangement! Also, cool to see the lute-kulele played by a pro musician, mine is next to my work desk for whenever i take a break. :)

      Thanks for noticing. I significantly altered the instrument, both visually and functionally, but it was a great starting point as the lutekulele.

      @@BlackberryOrchestra Yes, you did a proper pimping, I might just steal that idea with a second top ornament from you! I restrung mine with an A bass string from a classical set (greatly enhances the range and fullness) but have not yet put proper gut on the others as you have. CGCG tuning is fantastic for cantigas which I mainly use that instrument for.

    Thank you for the consistent quality, I'm impressed by the diversity of instruments you're adding to your range one by one! I'm also curious about what your sources are and how you figure out/decide how to interpret these old pieces 👀

    It seems to have a Middle Eastern feel to it. Maybe it is a modal key.

    This is my second favorite version of Ghaetta after Ensemble Micrologus' version. Their bass just 30% better, sorry broskis.

      Dude. I'm you from a year from now! I need to tell you something, and I cannot stress this enough, do NOT go to Miami in August of '22 (heads up, stop saying "two thousand and blahblahblah. In the future we just say '22. There's a lady at Tony's that makes fun of you for it in June and everyone laughs. I'll know when you get this message because the memory of ridicule will disappear). I can't say what, but you'll never be the same again. It took me weeks to recover but I'm completely fine now.

    Clearly a Turkish connection, not sure who influenced who.

    • @karlpoppins
      @karlpoppins ปีที่แล้ว

      Arab, not Turkish. It was the Arabs who separately influenced the Ottomans, Spaniards and even Italians.

      The lute comes from the oud and it exists in many many versions.

    Im not supprised medieval italian music has a near eastern feel. Southern italy was mainly byzantine and arab for centuries.
