@@BlackberryOrchestra Yes, you did a proper pimping, I might just steal that idea with a second top ornament from you! I restrung mine with an A bass string from a classical set (greatly enhances the range and fullness) but have not yet put proper gut on the others as you have. CGCG tuning is fantastic for cantigas which I mainly use that instrument for.

Thanks for noticing. I significantly altered the instrument, both visually and functionally, but it was a great starting point as the lutekulele.

Oud with frets isnt a real lute
The lute comes from the oud and it exists in many many versions.

Im not supprised medieval italian music has a near eastern feel. Southern italy was mainly byzantine and arab for centuries.
