Was later affiliated to KNUST in 1988 by Flt Lt. Rawlings. As of now, the UP-NPP fraternity have not built a single university in Ghana. No ifs, buts or ands. They reap where they have not sown. They only go about naming edifices after their ilk. Period.

University of Environment and Sustainable Development at Somanya was built by Akufo Addo's government. For the records, the said university was a manifesto promise by Mahama government, but it was not fulfilled. He Only cut sod in December 27, 2016 and left office.
It took the Akufo Addo /Bawumia government to secure funding for the construction of the University. The funding was secured by the President Nana Addo on 21 May 2018 between Milan and Somanya - Contracta Costruzioni Italia (CCIT), SACE (Group CDP) and Deutsche Bank have finalized a deal to support a €45.6 million contract for the construction of the University of Environment and Sustainable Development of Somanya in Ghana. The University was commissioned on August 5, 2024 by President Akufo Addo.
Again, University of local government studies was built by Akuffo Addo.
