    That's a beautiful cinewhoop. I built a 3 inch with very similar components about a year and half ago. Even put a bottom sensor on it for altitude and position hold at low altitudes, which works decently. It is an old school frame though and even though it flies real well, I love the looks of this one. I think II'll move everything over to this frame in the near future. Time to update Inav on it as well, so I'll be looking for your setup video.

    • @WhirlyBloke
      @WhirlyBloke  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      INAV is the only to go if you want performance similar to a DJI Avata. Maybe not the long flight times, but certainly the smooth handling, altitude and poshold to get great cinematic footage.

      @@WhirlyBloke Just pre-ordered the pro direct. Shipping is free as well. Great deal on a beautiful frame! Thanks for showing it to us. I will be using a full size flight stack, which they said would fit, but be a bit challenging. Can you tell right off-hand what the difficulties will be? Will the USB port be difficult to access? Using the Speedybee V2 full sized stack.

      Hey Kurtz,
      Were you able to wedge the full size FC into the Bee 35? I'm auditioning flight controllers right now. Every thing I'm reading including the Speedy Bee 35 manual advises against the 30mm stacks for this build even though it has 30mm holes... I'm looking at 20 and 25mm FCs and all in ones but I'm hesitant because I've only ever used the full size versions. Happy flying amigo. 🍻

      @@Sonic_Ox Gracias compadre. Yes, I was able to fit the Speedybee V2 30 X 30 stack, but it is a weird build with the flight controller on the bottom and the ESC upside down on the top. It flies great though, so it was worth the trouble. There is a really good build video by Bilu Media showing the 30 X 30 stack mounting. That said, I'd probably go with an AIO if I didn't already have a few of the V2 stacks. Found a deal on F7 40A aio on Nick Burn's channel and bought two, but haven't received them yet. Oddity RC is the place where I purchased.

    • @Sonic_Ox
      @Sonic_Ox 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for the reply Bryan. I've been enjoying your channel and did see that you were able to fit the full size stack. I do think I'll look at the AIOs if I find one that satisfies my wishes for this build. I intend to go digital with the 03 air unit and I also like to have full GPS functionality (INAV) and I'm planning 6s power. So I want an AIO with sufficient UARTs and with sufficient amp rating on the ESCs. I've been looking at the offerings from Diatone (Mamba) but I am also still thinking about the mini F405 and keeping it all Speedy Bee. I'm running their full size F405 V4 55 amp in my 7" build and it's been flawless. It's nice to have options. Thanks again for your input Bryan. Happy flying amigo! 🍻

    Good content. Love your channel. Lack of artificial happiness present elsewhere is so pleasing :) I wonder how much quieter is this as Avata screams as kid during first vaccination. Flown it at dawn to make sunrise shoots and woke up people nearby, not mentioning all birds. There are phone apps measuring dB, maybe you can do short test making next vid. The only thing I'm missinig with these builds (have 5" cinewhoop) comparing to Avata it ability to make easily nice top-down footage.

      It's got mounting holes for 20*20, 25.5*25.5 and 30.5*30.5mm stacks. Height may be an issue, but there's no problem adding some spacers between the bottom alloy plate and main body to give you a bit more room.

    Thanks for another brilliant video Whirly Bloke. As always, your content is interesting, informative, and entertaining. This video was the main inspiration behind me ordering a Speedy Bee 35 pro led frame just yesterday! This build will take me awhile though because I plan to go digital with no compromises. My drone budget is currently only $100 per month so this one may take over a year lol. Oh well, I have my recently completed 7" analog build occupying my time and imagination as I slowly acquire parts for the 3.5". I too plan to exploit the GPS functionality that INAV offers though I've found INAV 7 to be inferior to INAV 6 as far as GPS functionality is concerned. Have you (or anyone reading this) experienced this? I seem to get fewer satellites to lock with INAV 7 than with INAV 6 and the GPS hold function is way less stable.
    If anyone has suggestions, I'd love to read them. But I digress lol. Thanks again for another great vid Whirly Bloke. Happy flying amigo. 🍻

    • @WhirlyBloke
      @WhirlyBloke  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks a ton for your awesome comment! It's fantastic to hear that you enjoyed the video and that it inspired you to order the Speedy Bee 35 Pro LED frame - that's a solid choice! Going digital with no compromises sounds like an exciting plan, and it's great that you're taking your time to build something special.
      Your budgeting strategy is both disciplined and admirable - a year might seem long, but the anticipation will make that first flight even more rewarding. Your 7" analog build sounds like a blast too!
      As for the INAV GPS functionality, your insight is valuable. I haven't personally experienced the differences between INAV 6 and 7, but your question might resonate with others in the community. If anyone has suggestions or experiences to share, feel free to chime in!
      Happy flying on your 7" and best of luck with the upcoming 3.5" build. 🚀 Cheers, amigo! 🍻

      I wanted to mention that I think I've discovered a fix to my GPS functionality issues in INAV 7. Well, I didn't come up with it but I did just discover a video from Mr. D - Falling With Style. Darren explains that in INAV 7 the GPS page looks and acts differently than the GPS page in INAV 6 and when you activate all the constellation tabs in INAV 7, they will reset to a deactivated state upon save & reboot! Darren also suggested activating the UBLOX 7 tab if you have a newer GPS module to see if it is UBLOX 7 capable. I live in Arizona, USA (Darren is in the UK) but I activated the constellation tabs for EU and CN (not RU) as well as activating the UBLOX 7 tab and VOILA! Upon save and reboot, I acquired 15 satellites INSIDE at my computer almost instantly! I was lucky to get 10 outside with INAV 7 before. I was routinely acquiring 20 outside with INAV 6. I can't wait to flight test tomorrow (hopefully). I will paste a link to Darren's video at the end of this comment. I just wanted to gain exposure for Darren's video because I think quite a few folks are seeing decreased GPS functionality with INAV 7 compared to INAV 6. Happy flying amigos! th-cam.com/video/JvUGgpCr_eQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=4h6AnKoS1g1aBfIu

      It's a combo I've used on my Shendrone Squirts for a while now with no issues. If this was an all out racer drone, then no.

      At the moment it's just DJI or analog, but maybe they'll upgrade it. It only really depends on the fit in the bottom metal frame plate.

      I put the new Walksnail V2 (Dual Antenna) in mine, it fit fine. I didn't use the metal CNC bottom though. Just the standard carbon one.

      @@AxxieFPV That sounds great. If the Walksnail is too tall to fit with the bottom CNC plate, you could use longer screws and put spacers between the bottom plate and the central frame piece.

      If you use BetaFlight you're 100% correct. However my followup video will show how to use INAV that has sub cm accurate GPS position hold, altitude hold, optical flow/lidar, waypoint missions, reliable and accurate RTH. And that's how this excellent frame becomes a DJI Avata beater for a fraction of the price. Here's a small sample of what INAV can do th-cam.com/video/4odtIEl0q2M/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching.

      @@CappaGTC The DJI O3 camera and Air Unit are almost exactly the same as the system on the DJI Avata including all the stabilisation processing. You can use the built in RockSteady or process the footage quickly and easily using GyroFlow for free. That has horizon lock if that's what you're after. Personally, I prefer to use GyroFlow cos I think it produces better results and you have more options and fine control if you need it.
