The filling of the pool with water can be seen in this video. From the opening of the tap of the garden hose until the moment the skimmer fills up and the pump could be switched on followed by my first swim. But also the covering of the pool with the summer cover, roll-up system for the summer cover, excavation of the soil as preparation for the paving and the gravel, paving of the path and terraces around the pool, pouring of the gravel, preparations of the border tiles, decorating the garden, winterizing the pool, covering of the pool by the winter cover and drainage of the pool water after heavy rainfall.

Super inspiring! My husband thinks we can’t do pool ourselves but guess I will try. It’s ok to fail but I don’t want to think about failure at this point. Will do my research and start with baby pool and move on to big one. Thank you.

Beste Martin, allereerst mijn complimenten! Wat een engelen geduld, en wat een fraai resultaat! Je hebt alles heel helder en duidelijk in beeld gebracht. Wij zijn hier (almere haven) ook bezig met een zwembad, en al is het niet op dezelfde wijze gedaan als bij jou, het geeft op sommige punten wel een hoop duidelijkheid. Heel veel zwemplezier gewenst weer de komende zomer, hopelijk wordt het net zulk fraai weer als afgelopen zomer!

Hi, thank you.
Good to know that you will look at the videos again when you start making your own swimming pool. That is why I created the videos, to support others. The pool in the garden of my previous house was build by a contractor and he used stabilized sand to strengthen the walls and to support the edge tiles. He used ready-made "stabsand". When I surfed the internet I discovered that it is easy to make it yourself.

@@MartinVledder i live in the caribbean myself. Ive been telling ny wife i think i can do it by myself and have been looking at videos for months lolol. This video series inspired me especially seeing how you went through the process for months virtuallly ALONE with patience. I mean the time is going to pass anyway so you might as well do something with it and i feel like it will be more enjoyable every time you sit out and watch what you accomplished. Again, well done sir!
