Yeah, AkuShio is one of the older ships and it was kind of a submarine for a while, because it went below everyone's radar. It doesnt stand out like OkaKoro or NoeFlare. Even now many western fans just see them as "siblings". But the truth is that they mostly have a "Kaguya-sama Love is War"-esque dynamic, where they want the other to confess their feelings. They always fight, but in the end they also always tease the other "You love me too much, don't you?" whenever they are nice. As far as Aqua goes, Shion is pretty much the only one she can act naturally around and it really shows both online and offline. That's why everyone ships them on the JP side, rather than just because they have fun interactions in Neighbour Wars and stuff like that.

Im still pretty pissed that they cancelled Aqua's participation as guest star on Mea's sololive, imagine if both of them having duet live with their own sololive dress.
