Are these 2-stroke V8s running flat-plane crankshafts or 90degree crank throws? It sounds like a flat-plane (180degree throws) crank, but at such high rpm I can't tell for sure.
I am trying to build one of these as we speak. I want it reliable though. Can you give me some tips on what you did to build that hp. What compression it has, parts etc. Thanx for the help.
I was testing the V8 in the tank at OMC in Dallas in 05/1982 working for Larry Frogg of OMC.
Dat Sound! Damn, I love 2-stroke outboard engines!
That thing makes some serious power. Great job.
I have this same type of motor on a 26' sleek craft and it is crazy fast!! Mine is a E300PXCUR 3.6L love it.
I have one on a Stoker that's finger ported. Sounds SWEET at 6700 stroking it down the river!!! OMC baby!!
she's a beast!
It allways amazes me that some uploaders don't want to answer even the simplest of questions. Like the displacement of this engine.
The Best money can buy.
372 hp at 6200 rpm 341 ft at 5200 rpm,
Nice!
Epic sounding, and well that sounds a lot higher than 6000 rpm
Healthy one for sure.
