After seeing a lot of their performances live on TH-cam, I have noticed Kat's guitar is rarely "tuned". It almost seems standard for her. How about people stopped ripping on her and just enjoy the music! Welcome back Babes! You still rock! This is the music from my teenage years. It's still great. And I rarely tune my guitar either.
To the people saying "but Kat's guitar is always out of tune!"-you clearly don't play guitar nor do you have a musical ear. I've watched footage of dozens of their performances and her guitar is always distorted and "crunchy" sounding, but out of tune? Never. The toy guitar she had to play for a good chunk of this set kept going out of tune when she'd play and it in effect ruined her flow and butchered some of the songs. It's especially noticeable how out-of-tune it is in "Bruise Violet." It got better when she got her main guitar back, but just for the record, no, her guitars are not "always out of tune." What is mind-lowing to me is that it took the guitar tech nearly 20 minutes to restring her main guitar-that makes zero sense unless there was some other problem.
I disagree. If I restring a guitar it immediately goes out of tune until I have played it for a bit. So I imagine the guitar tech restrung the guitar, played on it and retuned it a couple of times.
I loved,I wish my teenage daughter would enjoy this kind of band like I do......It reminds me when all of the 90s good bands came out.great babes......welcome back!!!!!

I saw them at Riotfest in Toronto and they kicked serious ass. This video is not a good representation however I wish I got a chance to see Maureen in action!

For everyone ripping into Kat's guitar playing - look up their Bloomington show. It was perfect! I have seen a few shows where it was out of tune but it's part of the appeal to me for some reason. Just pick up a guitar and start screaming out some tunes whether you understand music or not!
also she tried to tune it multiple times throughout the set so obviously something was wrong with the guitar and not her playing.. kinda sucks but at least half the set sounds amazing

Oh damn, I was at this show, and had to leave after a few songs. I think they were using borrowed equipment, and a string snapped within the first tune. Kat looked absolutely devastated and it was difficult to witness.
they got done so dirty, by giving her that guitar and also by taking way too damn long restraining it... but spun, sweet 69, right now, handsome and gretel sound sick
those vintage sg's are so finicky, you can tell they're rusty and really low budget but it's great to hear them again, glimpses of what made them a unique and great band.

I saw them open for Skinny Puppy back in 1990 and have been a fan since. I hope things make a turn for the better and they tour again.

Loved this band in the 90s - saw them at the Queen's Hall in Edinburgh in 1992 too. Really compelling and Kat's still got the amazing voice.
