I cleared up a very bad Sulcus Thrush on a School Horse I began leasing back in 2011. It was a wet muddy month but I had success . My Ferrier suggested Tomorrow (Dry Cow). I used that every day for a week . Packed it in with cotton and a hoof Pick. Then I went to every other day for a week. After that I began using No Thrush at least 3-4x per week. His feet began strong and healthy no cracks just a beautiful frog and Sulcus. I continued to use No Thrush over the years and still to this day my present horses feet are great! Thanks :)
I make a mix of equal portions, 1oz tube of triple biotic ointment, 1 oz. tube of athletes foot cream(clotrimazole), 1 oz vicks vapo rub and 1 oz. destin. Mix together and use a trimmed down wooden handle paintbrush to apply daily. Takes about 7-10 days to notice healthy hooves. Smells great due to the eucalyptus and menthol in the vapo rub!
@@Ginnyshorseproductreview yes I try to repurpose plastic containers. I apply around the frog and into any heel cracks and continue around the coronet band. It's about $10 to make if you have a lot of horses might not be economic. I just have one spoiled mare, lol
My horses are currently readjusting to living in a moist environment after being in a pretty dry climate for past three years. I’m sure we will be dealing with a little thrush here and there.
Hi, love your videos! Thank you for reviewing horse products, I don’t think there’s enough product specific videos out there. Question: what’s the best/ fastest way to dry out the hoof to treat it with desitin?
Thanks! Yeah, there’s definitely not enough horse product reviews out there! I think the best way to dry the hooves are just to get them out of the mud/wet conditions and clean them. There were times this past winter that my horses only got to come out of mud here and there a few times a week. We just pulled them out and cleaned hooves and Desitined them, and put them back. Sounds like you got a program that works! I didn’t have luck with the dry cow remedy. 🤷🏼♀️

Wow!! That sounds like a great concoction! Will have to make some and try it! Do you just keep it in a little container?

Sounds great! I’m going to make some! We have two spoiled horses! 🐴🐴
@@Ginnyshorseproductreview my horse was neglected and her hooves were in bad shape. Good trimming and applying this healed them.

Would you use this for heel cracks?
I slather it on just about everything!
No Thrush. BTW it even works in wet muddy weather.
