Ohhh man this game brings back so many memories. This was one of the first NES games I ever owned when I got my NES back in '88. The joy I had when I finally beat it was amazing, having the whole family cheer me on too was so amazing. So glad you love this game too!
I said this in a comment on another video, this was the very first NES game I ever bought with my allowance money. Oh, sweet memories. Loved the music.
The game actually has a different stage end screen depending on how upgraded your weapon is. You get "here?" if you have the lowest level weapon and kickass action scene still if you have a fully upgraded jeep.
I find it hard to believe that you never even played this game in the 80's considering it was a Konami. It is a great co-op game as well. Glad you're experiencing it! :)
Played this today for the first time on my Famiclone. We didn't have this in Europe for some reason. Nice to find these kind of great old games, that I have never played before!
I used to beat this game over and over and over and over and over. Thanks to this game, along with Tecmo Bowl, Gradius, and Wrecking Crew (Don't judge me!), many a boring night was salvaged.
I remember back when i was a foster child. The guy who was taking care of me had like 30 or 40 games for the nes. this one i was so obsessed about. i called it "The Jeep Game" though i died alot and fairly easily. it never stopped me from playing it. playing this game and watching films like Terminator 2 and speed 1994 while listening to 80's music. I had a fun time. nostalgia is the hi ho bomb digady
I didn't either. Back then games were abundant at garage sales, thrift shops, and flea markets for a few bucks. I grew up with a NES and then a Genesis. I got an SNES with 15 really solid games for $20 at a garage sale when the PS1 and N64 were in their prime. I don't remeber all the games but Super Mario World, SMB All Stars, Zelda, Final Fantasy III, Super Metroid, and the first 2 Donkey Kong Country games were in that lot. That was the lot that got me into collecting.
Man, can't believe I forgot about this game. Probably amongst my most played and enjoyed games from my childhood, and it has an awesome soundtrack. Jackal needs to be recognized for the classic that it is.
OMG !!! Thank You Mark !!! I was looking for this game for ages, i saw it when i was a kid like 20 years ago at my local supermarket !!! I thought it was a clone or something... i remembered jeep, crush enemies and saving POW sending to the chopper Man, i am still looking for a lot of the nostalgia games i played
This is one of my favorite NES games ever! I played it over and over and over again. It was a quick fun easy to play game... alot like how Contra was for me too.
Got this on psp :) Jackal is beast better than contra remember playing with my uncle which was a teenager I myself was around 8 man I miss those days no bills no worries
Glittery Jim! Game Grumps is where I best know this game from, I never heard of it until then. I lived in the middle of bumfuck nowhere as a kid. My town didn't even have a video store when I was little. The only Nintendo games I got to play were whatever the gas station had for rental on their one wall along with their VHS tapes.
The hardest thing about this game is how close you have to be to the edge of the screen to get it to scroll. Your missiles often fail to explode properly off screen.
I can't think of the game right now, but it's from the last 11 years or so (Vice City Stories maybe?) and there was dialogue where someone said, "You Jackals!". Back to this game though, I had a friend who had this game, and yeah, I think it's pretty great, per Konami tradition at the time.
I've been mentioning JACKAL since the 90's. Antagonist, Gamespot and every other game related site. Users would say "WHAT?" And I would say "JACKAL! You've NEVER played JACKAL?" This game was obscure and forgotten. No Rental store had it, I couldn't find it in any of the stores. They ALWAYS had CONTRA but not JACKAL! My neighbor had it, he was the spoiled brat kid that had EVERYTHING! His parents bought him EVERY Nintendo cart as they were released. If it existed ... he HAD IT! He had JACKAL! 😀
I can get to the very last boss but have never defeated it. And yes it was without cheats and by myself. lol I know it is possible, but it takes a lot of patience and time with lots of practice. Hopefully someday I will beat it once. One of my favorites as well on the NES.
so I was unsubbed from you for whatever reason. I randomly thought about your channel and was wondering why I never saw your videos anymore. I'm sorry sir but I am back

Jackal is my favorite game of all time. Its always In my NES ready to rock N roll.
You're awesome man! And I mean that! :)
I loved this game, I had it as a kid!!
This game should have been on the NES classic edition
Right!? I was so disappointed
Couldn't agree more 👍💯
Yes way all of the Konami games including the contra the castle Vania trilogy and jackal are rare games
@@ronaldhenson9170 no they aren't.
They clearly should've left Castlevania II off and included Jackal.
One of the 5 games I had back in the 80's for the Nes but would play for hours!
This is when Konami was great.
+SupaPixelGirl They stopped being great near the year 2012, and when they cancelled Silent Hills.
They were at their best in the 80s. Some of the best arcade games .
Jon Baha, whats so great about them now that Kojima is gone?
I wish they were still the same, renting these games from blockbuster I always looked for konami, capcom and hudson soft.
and then they screwed everything up
if you don't die and rescue everyone you get "We made it!" instead of "Here?"
On my game it said "YEAHHHH!"
I had this game when I was a kid! I never knew anyone else who did. I liked it, I sucked at it, but I liked it!
Crunch! Machine gun! Crushh! Squaash! Explode!
6:14 Always thought it was cool how the grenades would decapitate soldiers as it flew by. No explosion necessary.
I said this in a comment on another video, this was the very first NES game I ever bought with my allowance money. Oh, sweet memories. Loved the music.
This was my game back in the day..but I had to blow into the cartridge a lot to get it to work.
Ma ma hahaha that works too.
Not me I clean my Nintendo entertainment system games with q tips rubbing alcohol and glass cleaner
Never blow in the game cardtridges the oxidation from your breath will mess up the Golden contacts
Or you could, I don't know, maybe clean it?
The game actually has a different stage end screen depending on how upgraded your weapon is. You get "here?" if you have the lowest level weapon and kickass action scene still if you have a fully upgraded jeep.
I loved this back in the day, I need to pick it up again.
I find it hard to believe that you never even played this game in the 80's considering it was a Konami. It is a great co-op game as well. Glad you're experiencing it! :)
I've heard a lot about this game but I have yet to play it... It does look and sound nice though!
Played this today for the first time on my Famiclone. We didn't have this in Europe for some reason. Nice to find these kind of great old games, that I have never played before!
A game I had growing up and I still love to play it. A great game for one or two players.
I used to beat this game over and over and over and over and over. Thanks to this game, along with Tecmo Bowl, Gradius, and Wrecking Crew (Don't judge me!), many a boring night was salvaged.
Jackal is one of my favorite NES games as well and probably my #1 co-op game.
Yes, that along with Contra too!
One of my first NES games and one I can still beat with a half hour of good, hardcore gaming.
This game is a lot of fun, I still play this game to this day and enjoy every second of it.
I used 2 play the heck out of this game back in 92. I lost this game couple years after that. Miss those days.
I remember back when i was a foster child. Found this game used in a Kmart around the time ps2 came out. My Kmart was weird and had a lot of used nes games.
David Holbrook my old kmart sold used nes and snes games well into the PS1 era.
yeah, I passed up a Power Blade and an Earthbound... I did get Contra and Super Castlevania though at that Kmart though.
Mad Ape Productions nice! Back then I never dreamed nes and snes collecting would become a huge business like it has.
I didn't either. Back then games were abundant at garage sales, thrift shops, and flea markets for a few bucks. I grew up with a NES and then a Genesis. Mad Ape Productions man I miss those days
jackal was one my favorite nintendo entertainment system games
That is just classic Konami graphics, though. I love it. Konami games just had a distinctive look to them, Capcom too.
One of my top 10 as a kid and an all time great. I just replayed through a few months ago actually and it's still amazing.
I remember jackal on the Nintendo entertainment system
My favorite nes game (with willow, blaster master and so much others) coop mode was great
picsou081
Don't forget the Mega Man series! 😉 Later...
This was a game I played with my brother all the time when we were kids. Great times!
Loved Jackal back in the day, best music ever....this battle will make your BLOOD boil!!
One of the best games on the NES and one of the handful of games I owned back in the day.
Always loved this jam.
Man, can't believe I forgot about this game. Probably amongst my most played and enjoyed games from my childhood, and it has an awesome soundtrack. Jackal needs to be recognized for the classic that it is.
great yet difficult game!
OMG !!! Thank You Mark !!!
I was looking for this game for ages, i saw it when i was a kid like 20 years ago at my local supermarket !!! I thought it was a clone or something... i remembered jeep, crush enemies and saving POW sending to the chopper

Glittery Jim! Game Grumps is where I best know this game from, I never heard of it until then.

It's totally worth playing jackal on the Nintendo entertainment system
Holy crap...haven't seen this game in 20+ years.Used to be my game back in the day on NES.
Jokes on you! My parents' Grand Cherokee has *3* weapons, and one of them is a _BAZOOKA_! HA!
An incredible arcade two player game and one of my favorite NES games eventhough not arcade perfect.
Anyone got a link for a video that had the bonus disco music? I really liked that bit of music? XD
I remember my friend found this game in a field back in the day...we're talking back in 1991 or so...
Randomly finding games outside is awesome.
Yeah this game reminds me a bot of ikari warriors but also metal gear solid.
One of my favorite nes games
I was 8 years old when this game was released I remember throwing some crazy fits when I got far and lost😂😂
Choplifter in a jeep by way of Commando.
I grew up playing this, me and my lil brother rented this constantly from blockbuster, I was 5 when this came out.
I was seven.

one of the first games that i saw in my life. to be exact this was the second one after allmighty Contra.
do read comments Mark?
he said POWs or Prisoners Or Whatever then they're both POWs aahhh
my friend had this, I always felt the stages were designed to be played by two players
This is a fun game, one of the better ones for the NES game play wise that isn't an expensive one.
I've been mentioning JACKAL since the 90's. Antagonist, Gamespot and every other game related site. Users would say "WHAT?" And I would say "JACKAL! You've NEVER played JACKAL?"

The Ninja Turtle van from tmnt, lol
Ah, I miss classic Konami shooters. Where's my Contra 5, Gradius VI, or Salamander 3?
Best intro known to man!
Fuck I loved this game...
What an underrated game!
Wait till you play the PCB Mark, it's even better!
everytime I play this game I always get all the soldiers for the bonus points
I can get to the very last boss but have never defeated it. And yes it was without cheats and by myself. lol I know it is possible, but it takes a lot of patience and time with lots of practice. Hopefully someday I will beat it once. One of my favorites as well on the NES.
Have you done it yet?
Grab your friend, crash your enemies and see them dead before you, hear the lamentations of their prisoners.

"I love games where you can run over people."
Mark, you have to play Carmageddon: Max Damage for Xbox One then.
epic game. love it
Anyone who loves music of Level 3/6 just like me?
Great game!
Some of the sounds and music seem reused from contra
They are both from the same company.
I beat this game numerous times
This was the best NES game... I still remember the great feeling after beating it... actually that may be the saddest thing I ever posted
This was my best game. But I had a diferent version...
Here?!
so close to Sega Master Systems Rambo... but faster.
Konami made great games
jackal, jackal, jackal, its a jackal! 😆
Dear snk : Don't mind getting punched in the face, but the whole getting lit on fire thing? No
game for people who have a fetish for jeeps or tanks.
Is this where I make petty complaints about the nearly endless supply of free entertainment Mark provides?
badbirdkc Yes, yes it is. How *dare* he provide fun, well produced reviews of cool video games!
i play it on my ngage
hi John cena
so I was unsubbed from you for whatever reason. I randomly thought about your channel and was wondering why I never saw your videos anymore. I'm sorry sir but I am back
