Completely understandable. LOL ! :)
Happy you came along for the journey! I almost bought the Jane Austen as well, but I'll probably pick it up during my next visit to B&N. I figured get a set from a different brand since I already decided on the Dracula. I think that one will be the one I try out first from the bunch. It's gorgeous, but no, I think I'll skip making a visit to that castle. 😱
I visited Barnes and Noble just yesterday and found lots of puzzles that I could have bought, BUT knew I had missed last months sale, so will wait for another sale. They have a fabulous selection. They typically have their BOGO 1/2 off in January and October. So you may have to plan another shopping trip there for the fall.

Wish we had one in the U.K. Look forward to your next video. I would also be very interested to see the Dracula puzzle. I have the Shakespeare and Agatha Christie puzzles but haven't opened them yet.
You are so welcome! So happy you joined me on this trip 😊 I just asked my husband (who's from the UK) if there any stores there that are similar to Barnes and Nobles, and he said Waterstones Bookstore. I just checked their website and they look to have similar selection. Part two might be released this coming weekend, but that'll depend on my filming/editing progress with my 2K puzzle. And of the bunch that I picked up from this video, I'm planning for Dracula to be the first one that I try 🤩

I've done three Lawrence King puzzles. They are all literary themed. I did Jane Austen, Dickens, and Sherlock Holmes. Whoever does the illustrations really knows the books very well. I've read all the Austen books, and even taken college courses on her, so being able to pick out scenes from the books was so much fun. The puzzles even feature minor characters from the books, as well as real people from the author's life. For instance, Austen's mother and brother were part of her puzzle, and Dickens fellow author and friend Wilkie Collins was pictured in the Dickens puzzle. Definitely a great brand for literature lovers. I wish they'd do a Mark Twain one.
I absolutely love the artwork in those Laurance King puzzles. I've never seen anything like it. It's so intricate and laid out so well. You can definitely see and appreciate all the thought and care put into it. That alone can make me understand the higher price tag. I think this experience is going to feel very special, especially being a fan of Dracula. I can't wait to pick up the others.
Wow, what a nice selection at your B&N!! Can't wait to hear your thoughts about the Dracula one. I saw it (as well as the others) but didn't pick it up. Also loved the VW Bus with the metal tin puzzle... found it at Amazon and might have to purchase that one! The Agatha Christie puzzles are also a future purchase I'd like to do. I love her books. Can't wait for the next video! Barbara
I can't wait to get into the Dracula puzzle, and if it's a really good experience I'll definitely pick up at least a couple of the other sets I saw there. That VW puzzle set was really cute. The tin itself would look great on display.
For Better or worse, you inspired me to go to B&N and get some new puzzles. 😂 I also got the Food Truck puzzle because is m curious about the brand. Thanks for sharing your shopping trip!

Wow, I would have struggled to choose which puzzles to take home! They have the best of the best. I agree with your comment on Clementoni ; their puzzles are of amazing quality but the images are not as interesting to me. I love the Galison and Eeboo images. Thanks Mandy!
Believe me, this was a very tough decision to make. I probably had about 15 puzzles that I was contemplating. Hopefully my next trip to B&N will offer me more enticing Clementoni images. I much prefer to buy sets that pull me in or connect with me in some way.
I'd really love to see you do the Dracula puzzle! I've seen it in stores and I've held myself back from buying it, Because i'm scared it will be to difficult so I'd love to see another person's experience.
I actually did work on it recently, it was one of my last videos "Unearthing The World Of Laurance King Puzzles With The Tale Of Dracula." Hope you enjoy it!
I have tried Galison, it is a great quality brand. I own three or four New York Puzzle company puzzles but I have not done any yet. The Barnes and Nobles you went to is loaded with puzzles. You brought the hubby along shopping? That is a patient guy, Lol. The one gradient puzzle you found right on top is a “Cloudberries” puzzle. A brand from England. Great quality brand. Can’t wait to watch part 2 🧩😊❤️
Glad to hear that about the Galisons. The first one I tried was much cheaper, so I'm looking forward to trying out the fancy one. Yes, hubby drove me out there and waited around whilst I filmed for an hour, and was carrying all the boxes, poor thing 🤣I honestly didn't expect to film for that long but there was just too much goodness on those shelves. I'm hoping there are more images from Cloudberries, Pomegranate, and Clementoni when I head back there again.
Wow! You got some great puzzles! And you're B&N store has an amazing selection of puzzles! I haven't been in to our store for quite sometime but i feel like i need to stop in soon! 😅 Although, I'm trying not to buy more puzzles! Haha! Great video Mandy!
You must go! And keep an eye out for those puzzle sales. Someone else told me they should also have a puzzle clearance section. I had no idea and feel like I need to head back there already 🤣
Hi, I have a Lot of the Laurence King puzzle. They are on my list to do. I also Love the New York Puzzle Company Puzzle. Some day I will fly to US with an extra laguage and Bring Back Home a Lot of puzzles.
🤣You might need more than one extra luggage. One for each store you visit 🤣 I may be heading to England in the summer, so I must plan luggage space accordingly as well in case I just so happen to walk into store with lots of good stuff 💸💸💸
I always enjoy your shopping videos. This was extra fun cause I just went to B&N a couple weeks ago. I had to drag myself quickly away from the puzzles, as I was there shopping for hubby's birthday gift (hard to focus with puzzles in the vicinity). I'm excited to see you work the Dracula set!
😂Oh it really is so hard to focus when you're meant to shop for something else. I do my best to avoid aisles whenever I can LOL. I'm looking forward to Dracula too, and I'm thinking it'll be the first one I try out from the bunch.
Looking forward to seeing what you think about the quality of the Dracula one. I learned recently that Laurence King puzzle quality varies quite a lot depending on if it was made in the Netherlands vs China, and possibly even the year of manufacturing. I got the same Flow camping puzzle for my birthday in January. It was hard to stick to a 2 puzzle haul during that sale!
I'm really looking forward to working on Dracula, and thankfully it says manufactured in the Netherlands. It better be considering the price I paid 😂 I also can't wait to work on the camping puzzle. That image instantly transports me in there. I know I could've walked away with a lot more than 4 puzzles from that haul, but I knew I was going to check out another store afterwards. Maybe for my next trip to B&N during that sale, I pick up more than 4...or maybe that's not a good idea 🤣💸💸💸
What a great haul Mandy!! Congrats! Next time you go back to Barnes & Noble, check their puzzle clearance, you can get some amazing deals! I had to ask someone where it was because in my store the clearance puzzles were not with the full price ones. I am told on the Laurence King puzzles that they are better quality if they are made in The Netherlands vs China. I have tried New York Puzzle Company and loved them! I have some Laurence King but have not tried yet. Btw, Re-Marks puzzles to me are really good, they have wonderful images, I have done a few of those and like every single one! Looks like you got some hours of enjoyment there. Thank you for sharing! 🙂
Wait a minute...there's a puzzle clearance section 🤯🤯🤯Looks like my next trip may be sooner than expected LOL. Thank you so much for telling me. I will definitely investigate in my next visit. Thankfully my Laurance King puzzle says the Netherlands, so I'm in for some good stuff! Glad to hear about the Re-Marks puzzles too. They had so many amazing sets that I wouldn't have mind picking up as well.
@@thepuzzledmandy You are welcome, last time I went to Barnes & Noble, I came home with 5 puzzles with nothing being over $7. It was awesome!! Good to hear on your Laurence King puzzle. Good luck when you go, hope you find some good clearance ones 🧩🧩🧩
Very nice selection. I personally woul never buy a $35.00 puzzle unless it had tons of pieces. But I guess, other people have different budgets for their hobbies 😂
Yea, I'd struggle to part with $35 for a smaller count puzzle. Even for a 1k, it seems like a lot to me. But it would have to be something really special in terms of image and quality for me to consider it.
I did The World of Agatha Christie. I loved the image but the crumbliness drove me nuts. I’d like to see you do the Forest Feast by Magic Puzzle Company. My husband and I are working on it right now. I’d love to see how you approach it Lucky you to have such a well stocked Barnes & Noble. Our not so local one has maybe 2 dozen puzzles, most of them Ravensburger.
Oh no, I hate crumbliness! That's terrible. I hope I don't deal with any of that with this bunch of puzzles. Forest Feast is in the plans for the very near future so stay tuned 😊I've heard a lot of interesting things about it, and was told to maybe watch a video on it, but I want to go into it blind so that I get the full natural experience. I'm really looking forward to it. Hopefully your B&N will get some sense and load up their puzzle stock at some point. There are so many other wonderful sets aside from Ravensburger.
Dracula looks awesome. Too bad there wasn't more Clementoni, currently working on one right now- 1500 piece Titanic picture. Those murder mystery ones looked interesting also.
I really can't wait to work on Dracula. That'll definitely be the first of the bunch that I try out. Yea, hopefully my next B&N trip will have more Clementoni sets. I can't bring myself to buy an image that is not fully calling out to me, especially at that price. That Titanic set you're working on sounds interesting though! I really liked those Murder Mystery sets too. I might even pick on up next time.
I just went to B&N yesterday, unfornately missed the Jan sale. I ALMOST got that camping one (we camp a lot). I got the Ravensburger Circle of Colors Rainbow Cake and Winged Things, that I've wanted for a long time.
Maybe missing the sale was for the best 😂Too much goodness can make you spend more than you planned. Maybe next time you can pick up the camping set. I heard B&N do another sale similar to that later in the year so we gotta keep our eyes peeled.
I am sorry but the individual puzzles are called puzzle a set is several puzzles with a connecting theme. I love your you tube but this one thing grated and grated. I have subscribed not to complain at you but because you have such a refreshing view of puzzling. Sorry and thank you.
That's ok. From watching/editing my own footage, I've come to realize that my grammar is quite terrible, and it makes editing quite hard at times. I'm pretty sure others notice as well, but honestly that's just how I talk. It might be a combination of my hometown colloquialism , growing up in a bilingual home, I don't know. I grew up hearing and using a lot of common words differently. I also hate hearing myself repeat the same words over and over again, so I say "set" because I always understood it as a collection of pieces for one image. Really, that's what I've always known, and that's just me.
That gradient puzzle you pick up is a cloudberries puzzle 1000 pieces puzzle a lot of fun put it together the green and yellow pieces were a nightmare I have the same puzzle you have hanging up behind you 2000 pieces and I haven’t put it together just yet
The Cloudberries looked like a really nice quality set. I'm hoping that I find more images from that brand the next time I head to B&N. I've never tried a gradient before, but I do have a Ravensburger gradient krypt that was sent to me. I can see how the green and yellow can be a nightmare though😱I'm gonna have to put on my big girl pants and try it out soon lol.
@@thepuzzledmandy that would be nice to see more cloudberries puzzle and never been to B&N I never knew they carried puzzles I always thought it was just books

Those Murder Mystery puzzles look soooooo enticing :-) The Dracula, Frankenstein, and King Arthur ones seem to be really great......That Extraordinary jigsaw also looks awesome 🙂 Is it just me or has the number of pieces in the jigsaws you are choosing to do increased? Im seeing you choose a lot more 1000 piece and up which is a great show of your progress doing these 🙂 Only if you can and as an idea, with the Dracula one, can you dress up to play the part....cape and fangs etc....would be hilarious and also add to the vibe while you're putting the puzzle together lol
Hi Ernie! The selection there was so amazing, I really could've walked away with a lot more. I definitely prefer to spend that kind of money on 1000 count sets, as I feel like I get more bang for my buck. And like you said, I do kinda feel like I'm getting better with my puzzling skills. As for the whole set up for the Dracula video, do you think adding some fake blood would be too much 😉🤣
@@thepuzzledmandy I think one of the ways to quench your thirst is to have your own jigsaw puzzle shop lol Yep, ya deff getting way better and faster. Next thing, we'll be seeing you get 2000-5000 piece puzzles 🙂 Grand idea...fake blood, white tablecloth. Blood spilt yet dried (even if it's paint that looks like blood.......go full hog/ball/way with it. I honestly feel your audience would love it and in some parts of the video, lower the lights and have some themed music in the background....maybe at the start of the video.....your views would go thru the roof :-) :-) :-) A long long time ago in a land far far away, Mighty Mandy was bitten in the neck by Dangerous Dracula. To pass on his legacy, she became a vampire herself and moved to the US where the new lands enticed her and of new ppl, filled with fresh flesh and...blood to enrich her desire for everlasting life...in the darkness. I got a puzzle sorter without even knowing when 😂bought KI Puzzles, recommended by you. It is Midnight in Barcelona. Beautiful puzzle,. Sadly, they changed the wonderfully small box to a gigantic box just to fit the sort-r-box. Shame...
@@bettyc.6280 Yes, someone else mentioned this to me! I really don't know why some brands move towards bigger boxes. I get the whole adding a sorter to it, but like sometimes the boxes don't fit nicely on the shelves. And a lot of puzzlers already have sorters LOL.
If you had bought them in pairs, you would have saved a little more. Maybe a dollar +/-. You would need to pair the higher priced ones and the less expensive ones.
This is such a great idea, I wish I thought of this. I could've had my husband ring out a pair whilst I did the others. I'll make sure to remember that for next time, thank you! Every dollar counts 💸
Clementoni has great Disney puzzles but they are not exactly cheap on your side of the pond. Conversely, American brands come at a premium over here, darn it.
@@thepuzzledmandy Sometimes we also throw caution to the wind and buy something we really want. A Galison became affordable though, just before your video came out. Storrings’ Paris is beautiful, and so is the box it comes in. One more expensive puzzle on the wish list is the Japanese Woodblocks. Perhaps you already looked it up, but “woodblocks” refers to an old form of relief printing used in Asia. Think of The Great Wave off Kanagawa, that is a Japanese woodblock. Almost every puzzle maker in the world has used it. Nothing like public domain, am I right?
The pieces were kind of loose and wanky. The overall fit and the variety of pieces weren't great. I didn't like the glossy finish nor the colours itself. At a closer look, I got the impression, that they din't put much effort in choosing the image or editing it. One time a got a new and sealed puzzle with damaged, missing and double pieces. I think I wasn't lucky. @@thepuzzledmandy
I did the the New York Puzzle Co dog on the steps tag sale image. I must say of all the hundreds of 🧩 I’ve done over many decades this was the hardest one. It appears the artist used colored pencil and colors were somewhat “smudgy” and blended with no sharp outline of each image. I almost gave up but persevered and I did finished it. 😅
Oh yea, I understand what you mean. A lot of painting-like images, like my favorite Thomas Kincaid, can pose a ton of challenges because there are no sharp outlines details. It can all look like a blur in the puzzle pieces. But once its complete, it looks insanely beautiful. Glad you persevered!

What a big slection in the store. My barnes and noble does not have that big of slection. What a fun time!
Your B&N needs to get busy and fill up those shelves! They have no excuse!
I was coming to say same thing. My is so sad. Thankfully we have a few local puzzle stores here in Boston area.
I bought some of those book puzzles because of this video 😅 luckily i found them on clearance.
Clearance?! That's fantastic! Was it a really big savings?
I loved doing The World of Dracula. It's more than I like to pay too, but I felt the quality was worth it.
Oh this is great to hear! Now I'm really looking forward to working on it. Thank you for letting me know 😊
What a great haul Mandy!!
First! I always look forward to your posts 😊 thanks for making my day! Great haul btw, I'll be keeping a lookout for pt. 2!
Thank you so much, that means a lot! 🤗 Part 2 might be released this coming weekend, but it all depends on my 2K puzzle progress.
I would love yo see you piece together the New York Puzzle company puzzle.
It’s such a great image. I’m looking forward to working on that one and seeing what the quality is like.
I Did the Mickey Collection two Years ago, It took Me 6 Weeks to do but Fun!!!!
Oh my goodness, you got guts! I high five you! And fun? Really? I feel like I would lose my mind trying to figure out even the smallest section 🤣
@@thepuzzledmandy true, because I'm sure I would have bought 4! Btw, your B & N had way more than ours does!
@@michellehartsfield1342 B&N needs to get busy and start doing a better job at stocking those puzzle shelves in all locations!
@@AmberRaymond The locations I've been to in the past only ever had a small selection. So I was very surprised when I saw this grand stock of amazing puzzles.
Those Murder Mystery puzzles look soooooo enticing :-) The Dracula, Frankenstein, and King Arthur ones seem to be really great......That Extraordinary jigsaw also looks awesome 🙂
Is it just me or has the number of pieces in the jigsaws you are choosing to do increased? Im seeing you choose a lot more 1000 piece and up which is a great show of your progress doing these 🙂
Only if you can and as an idea, with the Dracula one, can you dress up to play the part....cape and fangs etc....would be hilarious and also add to the vibe while you're putting the puzzle together lol
Hi Ernie! The selection there was so amazing, I really could've walked away with a lot more. I definitely prefer to spend that kind of money on 1000 count sets, as I feel like I get more bang for my buck. And like you said, I do kinda feel like I'm getting better with my puzzling skills.
As for the whole set up for the Dracula video, do you think adding some fake blood would be too much 😉🤣
@@thepuzzledmandy I think one of the ways to quench your thirst is to have your own jigsaw puzzle shop lol
Yep, ya deff getting way better and faster. Next thing, we'll be seeing you get 2000-5000 piece puzzles 🙂
Grand idea...fake blood, white tablecloth. Blood spilt yet dried (even if it's paint that looks like blood.......go full hog/ball/way with it. I honestly feel your audience would love it and in some parts of the video, lower the lights and have some themed music in the background....maybe at the start of the video.....your views would go thru the roof :-) :-) :-)
A long long time ago in a land far far away, Mighty Mandy was bitten in the neck by Dangerous Dracula. To pass on his legacy, she became a vampire herself and moved to the US where the new lands enticed her and of new ppl, filled with fresh flesh and...blood to enrich her desire for everlasting life...in the darkness. She has found part of her past in this jigsaw where our journey starts....tonight. Behold, I share with you my story of putting pieces of my past together in this fascinating picture of.....Dracula. lol
I would really like to see the dracula one.
Yes, I can't wait to work on that one! It may be the first one I try from the bunch.
Wanna see the build of Food Trucks because of the puzzle sorter and your impressions on it
I'm really curious about that puzzle sorter as well. Doesn't seem like it'll be much just by judging from the box, but we shall see!
Maybe just a sneak peek video?
@@bettyc.6280 😂
Yes they are pretty pricey! I need to look more into their Disney puzzles though. If it’s an image I can’t resist, then there goes my money 💸
I have tried 2 clementoni sets. I really didn't like the quality.
Interesting. What were your least favorite qualities about it?
The pieces were kind of loose and wanky. The overall fit and the variety of pieces weren't great. I didn't like the glossy finish nor the colours itself. At a closer look, I got the impression, that they din't put much effort in choosing the image or editing it. One time a got a new and sealed puzzle with damaged, missing and double pieces. I think I wasn't lucky. @@thepuzzledmandy
Lawrence King has two manufacturing sites, one is China and one in Europe. The ones made in Europe are much better quality.
Interesting! Mine looks to be from Europe so I'm looking forward to some good quality stuff 🤩
I did the world of shakespeare. the details of this image are so crazy! So much fun! You must try it 🤩✨
Shakespeare is definitely one of the next puzzles from this brand that I'd like to pick up.
@@thepuzzledmandy I'm looking forward to watching the video of you working on it ✨🧩
I did the the New York Puzzle Co dog on the steps tag sale image.
