Loved the full conversation. Respect for Smita and Rubika for bringing up such issues and talking in detail. Hope this changes minds of Muslim youth who easily gets driven by politicians
I always avoided programs and debates that was anchored by Rubika. I never watched a single programs of hers. Just recently Iwatched Smita Prakash on internet and because of the genuine quality of her interviews I became curious about Rubika Liyaquat Ali. I grew up in Delhi where You could have President's granddaughter in my class as well as President's chuprasi daughter in my class. I had girls coming to school from homes of Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs. I have an old photograph of my father when he studied in Goverment College lahore. In the photograph my father is three of his best friends., one of them Christian, the other Sikh and one Muslim. My mother tied rakhi to Sagar Nizami, a national poet who wrote two famous ghazals sung by Master Madan. This is my background as a refugee in Delhi from Gujranwala in Pakistan in 1947. Now watching Smita's interviewing Rubika makes me feel abundantly happy . it is a real pleasure to know you both and I will be watching your programs with great pleasure. May God bless you both and may you grow from strength to strength.I am just about your grief on losing your Mum's passing away. Just remember her with gratitude that she was part of your life. Just think of those who never experienced the love of mother. I am lucky my children gave me motherhood. I married a widower who died within six weeks of my marriage. I raised two children aged just four and ten as a single parent. I feel blessed. I am moving towards my eigth decade and have had a rich life and continue to do so.
I can relate to Rubikaji when she says "main uss galli se nikal hi nahi paayee"and when she says " my memories of my mom is that of ICU"... Alhamdolillah I have born and raised in progressive Indian Muslim family, which gave me wings to fly and become a doctor . No one wears hijab or burqa in my family but alhamdolillah we all practice Islam in it's original form. All females in my family are well educated working decent females. Thanks to the progressive nature of our male members in the family be he my father, my brother or my maternal grand father. Sad to say my paternal family was conventional conservative family but still hijab was never forced on any women.
Education is the best weapon especially for women to be free like a bird and make a families outlook change for the good. My 83 year young Mom is an example
The problem is some progressive Muslims present hijab/burqa as a choice rather than a regressive practice. Although That may be easy to proclaim in a democratic country like India or in west, but they forget about little girls in Afghanistan, Iran, rural Pakistan and many other Islamic countries, where it is not a choice..
It is so amazing to watch two successful personality talking so casually about life n problems... Thanks ma'am... Love u million hearts n billion respect...♥️♥️♥️...

From 12:30 to 15:30 absolutely true story of every person who is an "outsider" to the "English-speaking liberal elite" of our country and considers Hindi to be the dominant medium of communication among Indians. This is primarily the reason why such elites have a problem with Narendra Modi. He speaks English in desi accent. Whereas the elites have not yet come out of the colonial hangover and believe that only a person who can speak English like an Englishman should rule over this country. They forget that the British Raj ended in 1947 and then again in 2014.

Great. I love the way Rubika Liyaquat Madam articulates. I have watched her debates on Hindi news channel several times. I pray and wish her all the best.
The characteristic of a fine interview is that the viewer, at the end, feels that s/he has come to "know" the interviewee. Smitaji got Rubika comfortable enough with professional competence and natural warmth, to let the public up close and personal....And Rubika did full justice to that opportunity.🙏🌾

Hats off to you Rubika. We need journalists like you. You are a very honest and genuine person. What is in your heart, comes in your mouth. I am sure people slowly and surely appreciate you, your views, your interviews, your debates. I am proud of you Rubika. God bless.
She is a great anchor. Fearless, yet not brash, she can put irritating characters in their place without being abrasive and stick to get subject. More importantly she can be very witty and humorous without being loud and irksome. Pray for great power to her. May her tribe increase. I never see her as a Muslim woman-journalist , just a cosmopolitan Indian . Arnt we all Indians at the core ?
It's ironic that Rubika mam mentioned that Men don't cry in the interview and tears rolled down my eyes when she was remembering her mother, happens rarely with me. Stay strong and Shine more mam.
Heartiest compliments to the two charming ladies in this engaging conversation. Usually, I do a few ‘fast-forwards’ on long videos. At the end I checked, and without realising so, that I listened every minute for 2 hours, 7 minutes, 28 seconds non-stop. Super diction of course from both sides as expected. What I found most special? Well, everything was special & stated in a very special way : patriotism, love for your religion, respect for others, love for and devotion to the family, passion for your profession, self discipline, taking care of your body & mind, moral courage, honesty to the core, mixing healthy fun with work ………. I can list several more gems …… everything expressed straight from the stomach. Very inspirational not just for young folks but for elders too. Keep it up you Bold & Beautiful Ladies. Wishing you great success. Major General Harwant Krishan.💃💃
48:00, This is the culture and tradition of an Indian family of remembering their 7-generation grandparent names. When Rubika said about 7 generations, I remembered the hindu way which is still in influence even after converting to Islam. This 7 generation is how hindu decide their family relation on marriage(getting married in the same gotra is prohibited with family relatives till 7th generation is complete, so knowing all 7 generation family relations is important in hindu), yearly pooja for their dead parents by paying prayer on all the 7 generation parents name on both mother and father side.
Lubika , I am presently 58 yrs and I am in forces and has been a child of the parents in forces. I remember as a child in 1975 we had one Aunty who was ANSARI from Bihar , she would wear sindoor . As per the understanding we has we just happened to to talk to her and she explained that at our place we get married with si door only. So when listening to the podcast I realised that she was following her kabila tradition. A great insight into the problem associated with hardliners in any religion.
I don't know why but I have a deep respect for this women Rubika Liyaquat in my heart. Very strong women. Always feel good when I see her doing anchoring.
Excellent story about her family. Very supportive father and successful females. Also, it's difficult to find the right talent in many women who are modest. Encouraging them is next thing. Supporting them to succeed is ultimate.

Its almost midnight here in Perth,Western Australia and listening to my favourite podcast to keep tabs on India-country of my origin.I belong to the generation when I used to watch Salma sultan on weston black and white doordarshan as a young kid. They were a class apart.Watching this young lady on fire gives me hope and so does general hasnain who I refer to India's chanakya.Look after these pearls well India and It gives me so much reason to return to India soon someday after decades and give back to society-A christian from North East🙏🏽
Oh! Nice words Sir! From where are you may I know? Actually I am from Assam.

Everything but the last sentence struck me in dismay! Can't we be just Indian or human beings?
@@sajaldatta6991 We could but India seens to be heading that way and one could get clubbed being a Muslim or a Hindu supporting or negating her.I threw a spanner in the works by saying I was a christian from NE so we just dont have basket cases.
It's moving to see that how, Rubika's mother after completing PhD kept her thesis at her father's feet. That's what understanding each other's sacrifices and support. Appreciating each other. This happens only when two normal healthy mindsets come together and commit for each other.
Rubika is truly amazing and courageous, intelligent and speaks her mind. She does not shy away from a conflict that’s why she’s an inspirational person.
I am from Udaipur and can relate to what she said about her growing up. So proud about a fellow Usaipurite achieving such great heights.
It was real joy to watch this Interview , of course these both ladies are my favourite journalists all the way ,but this was real treat , Wish there were more like you . May Almighty bless you both with lot of happiness.and in your carrier sky should be the limit . ढेर सा प्यार सुर दुआएँ ❤️❤️❤️👍
One thing i can't forget was the interview with swara Bhaskar....Rubik'a nailed that interview...
That was an awesome moment 😂
"Aapne Bill padha hai !?" Rubika exposed her that day Man ! 😂

I have been watching and admiring Rubikaji on tv for some years . After this interview I admire her even more !
Rubika’s story talks about how important is if you have one strong family with you.. I feel his father is the hero of his life.. she is lucky having such a wonderful family.. ईश्वर इस परिवार को सभी ख़ुशी दे 🙏
Thanks Smita ji for introducing me to this powerful woman.
Believe me, I am throughly enjoying you two though I have been away from India for the last 36 years. Keep doing the good work girls. Jai Hind!
I want my daughter to watch this beautiful podcast . She is going to write her NEET exams next month and keeps pestering me to say some thing to motivate her. This podcast will just do that to her! Thanks Smitha maam for bringing this fiery no nonsense avatar on board.🙏

This is the best one yet! I've felt the goosebumps on my skin throughout the podcast, it was so fierce and empowering and at the same time it has humbled me. Lots of love for both these very strong and beautiful women. I look up to you.
Rubika Liyaquat is a new age, intelligent journo & is proud Nationalist. Kudos & more power to her!
You can either be a muslim or nationalist. Both can't be together. There is no concept of nationalism in islam. Watch ex muslim youtube channels to know reality of islam. There is no such thing as modern/moderate muslim.
she is following western culture what is proud in in😂
@@mohammadbilal4009 she should either follow islam properly or call herself ex muslim. Why this drama ?
Fully endorse what Rubika is doing to assert herself as a liberated Muslim woman ..

I really like how Rubika confronts her guests if they are wrong. That’s why she is loved by those who think she is doing really good job 👍😊
Rubika rocks ! Moments such as mother being at ICU on her last journey are the most painful moments in the life of daughter. I also had my tears at Rubika’s story.
Rubika and Smita, What a special show!! This talk has done SO many things for us, but most of all, increased my love, trust and respect for my Muslim brothers and sisters. I live in a colony of Muslim army families, who I respect and adore. I worry about the dialogue and the flavour of Islam that is emerging .... Not what we grew up with, this is new and divisive! The candor and pride in her roots Rubika brings to the conversation is refreshing! Well done! I do wish desperately for more of your tribe and more power to you!❤❤
Inspiration for millions young women Salaam Respect Namaste to Hosts Guests their parents and viewers...This is India you should proud of.... Blessings and Prayers 💕💕 for two illustrious stars of beautiful Hindustan.
It's a year since my Amma expired and the trauma she went through when she was on the ventilator and the wires of those bp managing machines never gets out of system... a hugh hugh respect to Rubikaji.. i have always liked her fire brand journalism and anchoring but this side has made me her Ally... God bless you Rubikaji...🙏🙏🙏

Possibly one of the best podcasts, I have seen. This is a beautiful conversation between two good friends, who, during the course of the podcast, have become completely oblivious to the fact that the conversation is being telecast. Thanks for this beautiful conversation, which gave some great insights into the lives of journalists, more so, women journalists and the struggles behind their success. Wish you both great success.🙏
These two journalists are the best and my most favorite ones. Smitha is cool and clam and Rubika is firebrand. Their research and knowledge is exemplary.

Very true ❤
@@vicky1bturn to Allah before its too late.
Why sad? To be conventional is to grow with values.

Kudos to you and Rubica Liyakhath forv this memorable interview😮
From 12:30 to 15:30 absolutely true story of every person who is an "outsider" to the "English-speaking liberal elite" of our country and considers Hindi to be the dominant medium of communication among Indians. This is primarily the reason why such elites have a problem with Narendra Modi. He speaks English in desi accent. Whereas the elites have not yet come out of the colonial hangover and believe that only a person who can speak English like an Englishman should rule over this country. They forget that the British Raj ended in 1947 and then again in 2014.
Appreciations for both of you.
Appreciated for the rights and humanity.

Though I am from Nepal, i really love how rubika conduct the show, she is against the extremism of any religion ....i have seen replying to maolanas of her faith and also the pandits and sadhus who talk non sense. I find her liberal practitioner.... and strongly stand for more education to muslims children rather than politicizing it .. specially i liked her stand on tripple Talak & Burka at schools.. You are doing just great
I find myself overwhelmed as a woman listening to these extraordinary struggles of these great daughters of Ma Bharati.... it never stops amusing me as to how these lot do justice to their careers, parents, children, partners, relatives & friends and non friends-- ALL AT THE SAME TIME!!

Absolutely wonderful!!! Made me cry about missing my dearly departed mother who passed in 1991. God Bless You All!
