  • Noted journalist Rubika Liyaquat made a name for herself in the field of TV journalism with her fiery style of anchoring news bulletins. Whether in Zee TV or now in ABP News she continues with the same style of picking up contentious topics and getting all sides of the debate on her shows. Rubika does on-the-ground reporting and is often criticized for editorialising news. She is active on social media where true to her style, her posts are fearless and bold. Being a progressive Muslim woman professional, she finds herself at odds with those who want to box her in. In a candid interview with Smita Prakash, Rubika talks about her life, her family and her reason for becoming a journalist. She speaks her mind on the Hijab controversy and other issues related to the Muslim community. She, without hesitation, shares about her struggle to break stereotypes and explains the many trials she had to go through.

@@punam5978 LORD KRSNA'S FOOLISH DRUNKEN WIVES ARE READY TO COMMIT INCEST WITH HIS SON (SAMBA)
Samba's mischief and that of the women combine here in one neat episode: he misbehaves with them. Thus the destruction of the race of the Yadus (Yadavas) is blamed on Krsna's wives, on Krsna's son, and on the rage of Krsna himself:
"One day Narada came to Dvaraka to see Krsna. All the Yadu boys received him with respect, but Samba, proud of his young beauty and deluded by the fated, inevitable force of the curse, disregarded Narada. To teach Samba a lesson, Narada told Krsna that all of Krsna's sixteen thousand wives were in love with Samba. Samba (Krsna's son) was summoned, and the women, whose minds were blurred by wine, showed unmistakable signs of passion when Samba appeared. Furious, Krsna cursed them to be carried off by barbarians after his death, and he cursed Samba to be afflicted with leprosy. Therefore the women were carried away under the very eyes of Arjuna. Later, Samba remembered what had happened before, and as he was impelled by inevitable fate, he enraged the sage Durvasas and prompted the curse that destroyed his whole family." -- Samba Purana 3:6-55; Bhavisya Purana 1:72-73.

Hinduism teaches that Sudras are trash & should be named accordingly:
"The Namadheya (naming-rite) must be performed as soon as the term of impurity (caused by the birth of the child) is over. (The name to be chosen should be) auspicious in the case of a Brahmana; Indicating power in the case of a Ksatriya; Indicating wealth in the case of a Vaisya; Indicating contempt in the case of a Sudra." -- Visnusmrti 27:5-9.

I always avoided programs and debates that was anchored by Rubika. I never watched a single programs of hers. Just recently Iwatched Smita Prakash on internet and because of the genuine quality of her interviews I became curious about Rubika Liyaquat Ali. I grew up in Delhi where You could have President's granddaughter in my class as well as President's chuprasi daughter in my class. I had girls coming to school from homes of Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs. I have an old photograph of my father when he studied in Goverment College lahore. In the photograph my father is three of his best friends., one of them Christian, the other Sikh and one Muslim. My mother tied rakhi to Sagar Nizami, a national poet who wrote two famous ghazals sung by Master Madan. This is my background as a refugee in Delhi from Gujranwala in Pakistan in 1947.
Now watching Smita's interviewing Rubika makes me feel abundantly happy . it is a real pleasure to know you both and I will be watching your programs with great pleasure. May God bless you both and may you grow from strength to strength.I am just about your grief on losing your Mum's passing away. Just remember her with gratitude that she was part of your life. Just think of those who never experienced the love of mother. I am lucky my children gave me motherhood. I married a widower who died within six weeks of my marriage. I raised two children aged just four and ten as a single parent. I feel blessed.
I am moving towards my eigth decade and have had a rich life and continue to do so.

I simply loved listening to Rubika. I was sitting in rapt attention in awe of her. She is the new age firebrand who is an inspiration not only to the girl child of her kuom but also to each and every girl in the Country. Behind every successful man there's a woman, but in her case it is a man,her father. Her father too is a source of inspiration to every father of a girl child , to be the wind beneath their wings. My father too would always tell us his children to do what we thought was right and not listen or worry about what people would say. It is the right kind of grounding to give children and make them strong in their thinking.

Lubika , I am presently 58 yrs and I am in forces and has been a child of the parents in forces. I remember as a child in 1975 we had one Aunty who was ANSARI from Bihar , she would wear sindoor . As per the understanding we has we just happened to to talk to her and she explained that at our place we get married with si door only. So when listening to the podcast I realised that she was following her kabila tradition.
A great insight into the problem associated with hardliners in any religion.

You are inspiring so many of young women of both communities of our country as well as several others, and remember you are going to be role model and guru for many after your lifetime. So don't be under any pressure and talk and walk the truth as you know it sincerely. Sabash, don't carry victim card. I would add here one thing. Add ownership card to own (it's a very high responsibility as well remember), that this country belong to me as much as to you - it's the fundamental principle of Hindus as well.. let good views and knowledge come from anywhere so that it's ours, all of us -the good. Can anyone dispute it?

From 12:30 to 15:30 absolutely true story of every person who is an "outsider" to the "English-speaking liberal elite" of our country and considers Hindi to be the dominant medium of communication among Indians. This is primarily the reason why such elites have a problem with Narendra Modi. He speaks English in desi accent. Whereas the elites have not yet come out of the colonial hangover and believe that only a person who can speak English like an Englishman should rule over this country. They forget that the British Raj ended in 1947 and then again in 2014.
