Hi Rachel, hands down love the pedestal bowl. So pretty. When you said the mum plaque was giving you paneling and shag thoughts I laughed so hard. 😂I was saying oh yes that’s a 70’s piece. You brought it right into 2024. AWESOME ❣️I enjoy finding 70’s pieces and seeing what I can do with them cause they can be challenging.
Lol . . . I loved the form of the mums as soon as I saw them, but they definitely took me back haha!! I'm glad you liked how it turned out! And I am really happy with how the little pedestal bowl came out, too!! :) Thank you so much!
Loved all your projects! Happy junking Sunday, I love to go thrifting! I always take pictures of my items too to see if they are worth anything! Have a very nice weekend!
Rachel, loved every one of these, but the mum plaque was my favorite! So surprising at how it turned out, but I love it. Good luck on the reset and hope Sunday’s junk run is successful. Thanks for sharing
Everything you did was wonderful but I happen to notice at the very end you are standing in front of the table with the chickens and roosters on it I love that table you're standing in front of😂😊❤
Rachel: some history behind two of those pieces might be interesting to you. First: the square pedestal is from the middle to late 60’s. When I started my job as the home furnishings co-ordinator at Macy’s, this was one of the accessories that we showed on the furniture floor in the model rooms. Second: that mums plaque was one of many that were very popular. I believe the name of the company was Syroco. I hung them amongst picture galleries. Very popular. All of their pieces came in brown or white with a gold wash. About the same time,- 1965-1970. You have to just love retail! You really did a nice job with that plaque. Carol from California
Thank you Carol! I am always so interested in hearing some of the history of the items that I find. I really loved the mums. Now that they are a bit "updated" they fit in my cottage perfectly with some of the floral art pieces that I have hanging. :) Glad you liked how it came out!! Thank you so much!!
Oh dear! I liked the flower wall hanging better before painting. I wonder if it would have sold in your shop as was. Oh well. It still turned out nice. Thanks for sharing all your wonderful projects!
I absolutely don't expect that everyone will always like everything I do, so I take no offense that you liked the plaque in it's original state, lol. This world would be so boring if we all liked the same things!! :) Thank you!!
Yes I don’t watch Her Channel a lot because she usually never paints much in Blues, But she’s a Very Sweet Lady, and very Talented, I just hates all the Green color people are using, it’s so ugly to me, I am 65, and always love Blue , it’s so relaxing,
That is all gorgeous. I remember my grandma had that type of wall art. Yours is absolutely beautiful. I love the color on the candle sticks 😍. The decoupage is stunning 🌼🤩🌼
Hi Rachel! Love the Cole you painted the candle sticks! That wood pedestal turned out beautiful with the transfers. The last piece is to unique and stunning! Great video😊 Jeanne Baton Rouge 17:14
The Pilar holders were my favorite. FYI Yvonne of Ginger Chick Rehab, say's and uses Shellac when things are slick. She sprays on 2 coats and let's it dry, then paints her project. She says never had a problem with the paints. Hope that helps you Rachel.😊
I usually use spray paint, but I appreciate the tip! I really wanted to see how the Cottage paint did over a slick surface, though and honestly it did really well without any help! :)
*Your #3 Project is my FAVORITE...I just L🤍VE how the musical 🎶🎵 🎶 notes behind the cute little bird's🐥head make it look like she is wearing a crown 👑❣️😁😉👑*
Of course, they're all gorgeous. You are so talented. But, my very favorite was the pedestal bowl. 😍 I appreciate all the instruction you share, too. Thank you for the video ~
The mum plaque. I like them all but the mum once you were done with it changed my mind. I’ll tell you that I would never have picked it up but you seem to have an eye for what could be. Looking forward to what you might find for future projects come Tuesday. Good luck with your reset and beginning of another growing season. Happy weekend Rachel!!!:):):)
Rachel, what would one of your flips be without paint on your hands?😁 All of the projects are just wonderful, the pedestal bowl color really pops those flowers. My favorite is the bird and nest. LOL, shag carpet and paneled walls. I remember those days, ugh. My friend, please don't push yourself too hard. That leads to exhaustion and sore muscles. hehe We will watch whatever you post and love every minute of it. Show us how the nursery comes together. That was a fun video last year. You have such good instincts for what works for each space. Show us how to take Santa and his reindeer down. ROFLMFO Oh crud, now I can't get off the floor. Have a good weekend gal. Can't wait to see what, if anything, you found.
Lol - I swear those mums took me right back to my childhood!! :) I was pretty happy with how they came out - I am tempted to take it home and hang it in my office as it would blend perfectly now, lol! The pedestal bowl was a fun little piece - I forget sometimes about Prairie Grey and it really is a pretty color. :) I will try to take some video of the nursery this week as I get it cleaned up (and yes . . . take santa down, lol). My plants come tomorrow so it will be an exhausting day to say the least, but I am so excited to start filling the nursery with greenery!! :)
@@theeclecticcottagespokane Glad you are getting plants in and sorry it is going to be an exhausting day. Just means we are closer to the warm weather. I wouldn't mind having Christmas up all year but my husband would veto that. So, Santa looks good there, it is just something I can tease you about. 😁 You found quite a few pieces that are going to look soo good in the nursery, can't wait to see them. If possible, take breaks tomorrow to limit strain on the body because remember, you aren't as young now as you once were. LOL (The voice of wisdom from an older lady hehe) Have an awesome day, my friend.
I have a very similar pedestal bowl that I refinished, but mine is round. I refinished in a grey and use it by my tub with a candle, floral, and jar of bubble bath.
I loved the candle sticks...They do look like you sprayed them. Did you use Dark and Decrepant (if that's how you spell it) dark wax on them? Thanks. PS, waiting to order some paint that is out of stock at the moment.
I'm glad you liked them! And it's just the dark wax - Dark and Decrepit is a liquid patina and wouldn't have worked quite the same. :) And I am hoping to get my order in this week!! :)
I liked your pieces overall but I do think the dark wax is a little overdone. I really liked the wall piece you did, until the dark wax showed up. You spent all that time dry brushing the crinoline on it only to have it muted and covered up. For me, I would have liked to see the dry brush technique back over the dark wax to reveal the highlights again. Dark wax good in small doses, or else it just looks one-note. ❤
Love the white top dry brush on the mums
I'm glad you liked it! Thank you!
Love all but especially the pedestal bowl.
Thank you!!
I Love the Blue Candle Holders the best
Of course you do! :) Thank you!
The candlesticks are beautiful
Thank you!!
I love the mums!
Yay! Thank you!! :)
Oh my goodness! As soon as I saw the pedestal bowl the first thing I thought of was an old fashioned scale.
It really does look like it could be a scale! :) Thank you!
Love the flower plaque❤😊
I'm glad!! :) Thank you!!
The mum wall piece! Thanks for the dry brushing tutorial!
You are so welcome! Glad you liked it - thank you!! :)
The pedestal bow is my fav! It’s lovely ❤

As usual, all the projects are beautiful. ❤

I’m glad you didn’t distress the candle holders. I like the aging on that beautiful color. Blessings 🙏🥰👏👏👏👋👋👋👋👋

The flowers and bird with nest. So awesome love them
Thanks so much 😊
I like dark wax on candle sticks.
Me too!! :) Thank you!
