I gotta say. You have nailed it with this channel man. 6 months in and from day 1 you've made high quality, pertinent, easily digestible content and engaging content. I just picked up guitar and a lot of the videos i have seen assume you know a lot before hand or get caught up in the minutia. I don't feel that way with you. Thanks man
Dang. Thank you so much for taking the time to say that. You have no idea how much that means. I really appreciate it! It’s a hard balance but that is my goal, so I’m stoked to hear it’s working. I’m glad they’re helping. Thanks so much 🙏🏼
WOW! You might be the best teacher I've ever come across for the guitar. I've picked up the guitar may times thru my sixty years and always fall back to the "I'm not a musician because I can't see it". Two weeks ago while having a beer with a buddy we jokingly said, lets start a band, LOL. So I picked up the guitar once again to realize, I can play music, but I've never unlocked the key to making music till I watched this 15 minute video. Thanks brother, best 15 minutes in 40+ years of trying to teach myself how to really play the guitar. BTW, teaching is a talent, no matter what the subject. Thanks for sharing.
Dude, I cannot thank you enough for this video. I started learning at 14 and had a teacher who was very well known and talented but had a teaching style that was the exact opposite of what works for visual learners like me. I struggled with guitar for years and eventually sold it when I was doing it tough and regretted it ever since. I'm 33 now and finally decided to get myself a new guitar give it another try. I've got a long way to go but this video just helped me more in 16 minutes than months of lessons did. I just got that feeling where it all "clicked". Thank you 🙏 I still suck but I keep thinking of the quote "A year from now you may wish you had started today" to keep me going.
wow. what a comment. thank you! so glad it helped yeah i'm a visual learner too. It just doesn't make sense to me without seeing it. so i try to be really intentional about that in the videos. super glad to hear it helped you!
I wish videos like this were out on youtube when I first started the guitar over ten years ago. But I'm so glad to have found them now. Thanks for breaking it down and teaching.
I really hope you keep uploading more lessons. I am a new guitarist; just bought my first guitar 3 days ago. Since I am teaching myself, I have been surfing through the web for a teacher. I am happy I came across your channel - quality production and I like your style of teaching. I plan to learn most of my guitar lessons from you so I hope you keep uploading more videos.
I’m honored. Thank you so much, seriously. I’m so glad you’re digging the lessons so far. Def more to come soon. I have a lot planned for this channel. Finishing up the edit on one right now actually. congrats on the new guitar btw! What’d you get?
Glad I found this channel. Picked my guitar up for the first time in about 18 years and decided I'm going to learn properly, rather than just learn songs like I used to. Feel like it's all making more sense now I'm older. Plus there's hell if a lot more learning material around now!
haha yeah I feel ya. no TH-cam when I started. Had to just rewind the cassette tape and try to learn things by ear, haha. I'm glad you found the channel, too! Hope it helps. Thanks for stopping by to comment
thank you so much. I agonized over this one in particular for a long time because I know it can be complex/confusing, and I really wanted to make it as simple and clear as possible. So that's def nice to hear, haha. thank you
Your video production quality is great. Easy to follow and understand. I appreciate that you use piano keys to explain the concept. Only missing thing is music theory which explains why some notes have sharp and others don’t, I mean half and whole steps pattern in major scale. Good luck 👍
You are the man. Thank you so much for your videos. I just got a guitar and your channel has helped me so so much. Thank you again wish i would have found you sooner

Another way to memorize the EADGBE is "Eddie Ate Dinamite, GoodBye Eddie".
yeah that's a good one!
Or: Elephants And Donkeys Grow Big Ears 😅
@@dcryptonistlounge hahaha nice!!
Now I have some hope😂 (tried for a year when I was 25, now 38 I'm back and need to learn some theory, not just memorize licks!)
