Happy Little Friends on the Run! Elephant Phabeni Runs Wild with Lammie & Spotty!

- Phabeni flies down the dirt road with his friends, Lammie and Spotty in tow, showing incredible speed and agility even at only 6 months of age. He has mastered those growing legs and is putting them to the test daily out in the bush on his walks with his sheep family and carers.
That Joshua and others moved THEIR LIVES to be with the HERD shows not only compassion and dedication, but how much they are ACTUALLY PART OF THE HERD AND A HERD AND ONE DOES NOT LEAVE THEIR FAMILY.
They have amazing stories & testaments all their own❤. Even reading on Aldine & her parent's Legacy, it's just... Makes you smile.

I'm glad that Joshua and everyone else who was with the original herd in Zimbabwe didn't have to permanently move but could have all their families (human, elephant, and employer) on a 6-week on-and-off basis.
It's actually pretty common for elephant keepers to move with their elephants, because elephants don't really work well with strangers. In Asia and India the Mahouts tend to become very important and useful in elephants rescues, because they understand them. It is probably much the same for these amazing gentlemen with these elephants.

It seems Phabeni is experiencing elephant herd introduction earlier than Khanyisa. I have fond memories of the sweet little Khanyisa.

wow wow WOW -what a difference in this little boy, seems so inquisitive and cheerful now, instead of the sullen little fella hiding in the reeds. God Bless you guys and gals at HERD, who understand how to rehabilitate a lost baby. He even seems kind to Lammy and Spotty now. Perhaps it's from his suckling on his new mum Lundi and his new big brother/father Jabulani who has the heart of a saint.

Lammie and Spotty are such good roommates for the orphan babies. Lammie is a pro and Spotty is learning from her how to help. I Love The Herd and all the caregivers that make this possible..I love animals❤

Well said. I am hoping to make a shop selling things that I make so that I can donate to exactly these types of rehabilitation and rescue teams. There is not enough help for them, so it has been my dream to help in my own way, I am hoping that next year I will be in a new home and settled so that I can get my shop open! Blessings to you:)

It was cute how Phabeni was hesitant to leave with out his heard mates! So precious how close animals who heard truly rely and how quickly they bond. Like I got, you got me , well then let’s go see what the worlds got for us today!
What a beautiful sacrifice for Joshua to leave his homeland with the elephants. He must l immense knowledge of elephants.
Phabeni sweeping the floors like he was the dirt after his first attempts with his trunk was with the flowers which he was doing great just needs more practice. But he got me laughing when he came back swinging like it was sand. But Joshua is like put sand on in then use some dry grass. They are good at using the resources around them!
I love to see Adine walking through the reserve and the homestead unafraid because in the documentaries the track down animals and snakes they aren’t just right there but boy does it seem like Africa is covered with predators and venomous snakes and insects. So it’s nice to see it’s not all like that. Australia I don’t even have a desire to visit between blue ring octopuses and the venomous snakes and kangaroos who wanna beat you up o and the koala bear sweet then evil if you get near it. Not my cup of tea.😂
