Minute 24! Casa Verde redware is a GREAT seller. I pick it up whenever I find it. Great comps. Comes in cream and green colors. Typically sells within 30 days or less. Chili bowls and salad bowls sell even quicker. A BOLO for me
Our local Dollar Store, which was built just a few years ago, a.c. went out. They had their employees working in the heat for a few summers.. I called the corporate office and complained, not for me but for the employees, but made the call about me, the other customers and the products, like the bread not being fresh, etc., just so the employees wouldn't get in trouble.. It is right that they get paid such a low income and have to work in the heat like that.. Now they have two portable a.c. units in the store 😉
I can't believe you do almost the same things I do at the thrift stores. I also see items that belong with others and actually do put them together like you. I also find myself straightening out shelves without realizing it. I don't know why people that work at these places can't put more effort in keeping it straight. I think that "Blue Onion" creamer with the chip that you returned to the top shelf at 32:50 is actually "Blue Willow" - it had the two birds in the sky and the other traits found in "Blue Willow". "Blue Willow" has quite a long history, has been made by over 700 manufacturers, and Laura Ingalls Wilder's favorite china was "Blue Willow" by Allerton's!
OMG yes! Just because I don't want to buy it doesn't mean it isn't just what someone else is looking for and it breaks my heart to see pieces like that split up! Someone will be ecstatic to find the set together so I always try and reshelve stuff like that too!
I sold Avon in the 1960's. The covered blue dish (made in Taiwan) was a candle holder. I sold the candles also scented with Avon perfumes. Just found you. I'm enjoying your videos.
Savers should be ashamed of themselves! All the stuff is donated and they mark the prices so high so that the "community" they are supposed to be helping really can't afford to do much shopping there. SMH!
Perhaps they realize that the majority of what they sell is going to be resold for a profit....they do have access to the internet and can therefore check prices if they think that they have something special......unfortunately or should I say fortunately some items get past their scrutiny. They really do owe the people who give them the used items to get as high a price as possible....running second time around is not free of expenses, rents, wages and dumping fees, not to mention the charities that depend on them to help the public with various programs. I think that it is fair for the shops to get as much as they can for their items. I heard at one point that she said that some of the items came from the dollar store and were originally sold for $. 99 and now were being sold at $2.99.....HOW IS THAT ANY DIFFERENT THAN WHAT SHE DOES.

When you buy from a reseller you are not just paying for the item's worth, you are also paying for the time and labor and gas that it took to curate that item as well as the original prices. You don't understand how business works. ALL business buy stuff for way cheap and then resell it for way more. That is how EVERY business makes profit. That is why there is such a thing as "wholesale". The difference is that they PAY for those items even if it is not as much as what they resell it for. Savers and other thrift stores do not pay for anything. Nor do they have to go out and waste time, energy, gas etc. to find (curate) those items and then create online listing and then ship them. All a thrift store does is get deliveries of stuff no one wants and then they turn around and sell. Thrift stores were never about major profit but suppose to help the community wether that is helping the poor or resellers who are trying to keep their businesses going. But like you said now many thrift stores check eBay prices for what items are worth which is wrong. Firstly, they usually check what an item is selling for and not what an item sold for. Anyone can list an item for any prices but that doesn't mean that is what it is worth. If I list a mug for $50 does that mean that mug is worth $50? Hell no! It may never sell at that price. But thrift stores don't care to check what an item actually has already sold for (the true value of an item). And even then, you could have multiple of the same items sold for different prices, so unless they take the extra step to average out the prices then you will never know the true value of an item. Do you work for a thrift store or manage one? Cause you sound exactly like a Savers manager I once spoke with. And when I mentioned all of this to her because I was confused why a piece of art was like $70 she used your same logic and then said it is selling on eBay for $69. When I explained to her that she should check sold listings not current selling prices she waved her hand and said "Well, I dunno anything about all that." But really she should if she is managing a store. This is business and you really should understand what you are talking about and how it works before making a comment that shows your ignorance.
Alabaster is a soft stone. The good thing about soft stone is that it is easy to carve, like Jade or Soapstone. The bad thing is that softness means you have to treat it better than glass. Back to the good part, chips are easily ground out with a Dremel tool. You might have to give the piece a whole new look but at the right price, it might be worth it if you have the time. As an artist, time vs money vs the love of it all.
The tooled leather journal cover with pewter button looks like an Oberon Design cover (the red one with the hummingbirds) and they sell well, even without the paper inserts (which are replaceable). The very first item I thrifted to resell was an Oberon Design leather journal cover. I always look out for them now. I was so sorry to see it go back on the shelf!

Absolutely Danni naturally drawn to vintage...the look and subject most times sells an item...the personality of the Seller listing the item sells best of all whether made in China or made yesterday..when u know a thing will sell u take the chance and that's what I love about u cheers
I think I was at the same Savers on Saturday. I recognized a few of the items on the shelves. My husband and I were visiting for the weekend from San Diego. We have no Savers where we live, so we always hit them and some of the other thrift stores when we are in town. Happy thrifting!! 😊

The two matching mugs that you picked up are Otigiri, and the pattern is "Bittersweet." Those were a great find! I had started collecting it a few years ago and you'll find many pieces on eBay.
I was looking at adding that also, one of those makers that you can pick out without seeing the name when you’ve handled enough. Seems to me to be also a brand of high fluctuations, sometimes low, sometimes extremely high. Sold some mugs for $65 each and then see similar ones 6 months later going for $2 to $5, often other resellers that don’t specialize and going for quick profit. A personal BOLO, especially the large sizes. These I sell as individuals even when I have matching pairs or sets, and I do price on the higher side. Not afraid of even at the extremes and waiting. Not get rich items, but nice bread and butter items through cycles as their mugs are numerous and the “better” quality patterns easy to identify
The pot that looks like it has an upside down bowl as a lid is called a donabe(japanese). You can rest a spoon in the cuts on the foot of the upside down bowl/lid. I. Not finding any info on using it as a bowl, though that is what it looks like.

I'm not a reseller but I would not pay those prices even for myself. Some of that is not far off from buying new at a Ross Burke's Marshalls or any of those stores. New old it doesn't matter. I need that pink vase. I'd rather it be from 50" s or under but it just drew my attention. All that donated to help the community have things. It would take a community to pay for a cart full in there. Wow at these prices. Have a good day keep on thrifting I love to watch.

Born and raised in Norfolk, VA. You said it right the first time. And the name was given way before the Revolutionary War. There is a church downtown Norfolk, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, built in 1739, that has a canon ball from one of Lord Dunmore’s ships. During the Civil War, it was occupied by Union forces. Just a bit of history of Norfolk, and natives are always shocked when people say folk.
The gold flecked pyrex is usually a Georges Briard piece- not sure I've spelled his name correctly. I currently have a very large platter listed like this.

Great find on those mugs @ 26:09! Those look like Otagiri in the Bittersweet pattern, one of my favorites! I've found one of the tall tapered mugs, a few plates a couple years ago, and recently the teapot, all 2nd hand 🥰 Great video as usual, I always learn something. ~ Caroline

eBay and Etsy as well as other platforms have certainly created an overpriced market for what I call, “second time around decor”. I don’t get it, but I don’t really have to. People are smitten with brand names, cuteness, and decorating. Collectors of bygone days were more interested in historic periods, art forms, craftsmanship, and building collections they formed some sort of connection with. Online reselling sure has changed the name of the game. Nothing wrong with making money though.
I’m one that picks up those orphan pieces as I know I will find others to add to them. And yes I forget where I put them and have become an extreme hoarder 😂
Got a challenge for ya: Groupings....make an instant collection that will sell for the $20 price point. Can even do it with things around the house! Like 3 planters, 3 elephants, etc....just something to drive ya nuts as I share my adhd with y'all!!
I think that gold speckled piece was Fire-King by Anchor Hocking, not Pyrex. From the quick glance of the stamp in-store, I caught the large F and K, and also the shape of the handles is not a typical pyrex shape. Hope this helps! Love your videos and all the information they provide! :)
Henderson Savers.. Once found a pair of authentic RMC Demim jeans with the embroidered Blue Dragon across the butt and down leg in that store. Got em for under 10 retailed for around 1200. Lots and lots of fakes..but only 4 pairs of real ones in 6 years. Never saw a real pair of Evisu Japanese blues..a couple pair of euro Evius's.
That Japanese pot at 18:48 is a Donabe. They are clay pots that are made to stand high heat and are very versatile cooking vessels. They sell for quite a bit of money, in fact I found one on Etsy that looks like this one, except the design on the lid is a little different. That one is listed at 79.99 (no chip) with free shipping. New you can't get them under $ 100.00. I am not sure if I am allowed to post links here, or I would have posted one. I found one at Goodwill a while ago for a good price, but haven't sold it at this point. I just love those things, can't let them go.
Spending crazy money is not something the average reseller is able to do. I try to show what anyone can go out and buy and resell so that others can really learn. I do go to antique stores and show and teach when I do ;-)

I think the blue and white pitcher was Willow wear, not Blue Onion. Blue Onion has a blue and white floral design with wide open white spaces. I saw the bridge that is part of the Willow ware pattern as you turned the pitcher. I grew up with both and love them dearly.

Those prices are outrageous. I wouldn't buy hardly anything there. Here in California our thrift store prices would have been half those for most of those items. That is why Savers is the one thrift store I avoid. They don't Save you anything. They should be called Spenders. I don't know how you make a good profit with those prices.

My mother taught me to use a fine pumice stone to smooth out the rough edges.
A dremel tool and a sanding bit could fix the sharp edges on the alabaster piece.

Our Savers has signs that they are a for profit store. I think they partner with charities, not sure what that means.

Those gold coin glasses sell well for me. I buy them at $.49-.99 each and sell them at $5.00 each in my antique booth. They go like hot cakes.

The thrift stores also sell to raise money for charities or communities, or people in need of assistance. They're not just for poor people to shop at.

Great find on those mugs @ 26:09! Those look like Otagiri in the Bittersweet pattern, one of my favorites! I've found one of the tall tapered mugs, a few plates a couple years ago, and recently the teapot, all 2nd hand 🥰 Great video as usual, I always learn something. ~ Caroline

The Japanese clay pot is cookware. Called a danabe. If in good condition it would sell from 40 to 60$ I use a danabe at least once a week.

eBay and Etsy as well as other platforms have certainly created an overpriced market for what I call, “second time around decor”. I don’t get it, but I don’t really have to. People are smitten with brand names, cuteness, and decorating. Collectors of bygone days were more interested in historic periods, art forms, craftsmanship, and building collections they formed some sort of connection with. Online reselling sure has changed the name of the game. Nothing wrong with making money though.
I’m one that picks up those orphan pieces as I know I will find others to add to them. And yes I forget where I put them and have become an extreme hoarder 😂
Got a challenge for ya: Groupings....make an instant collection that will sell for the $20 price point. Can even do it with things around the house! Like 3 planters, 3 elephants, etc....just something to drive ya nuts as I share my adhd with y'all!!
I think that gold speckled piece was Fire-King by Anchor Hocking, not Pyrex. From the quick glance of the stamp in-store, I caught the large F and K, and also the shape of the handles is not a typical pyrex shape. Hope this helps! Love your videos and all the information they provide! :)

Once found a pair of authentic RMC Demim jeans with the embroidered Blue Dragon across the butt and down leg in that store.
Got em for under 10 retailed for around 1200. Lots and lots of fakes..but only 4 pairs of real ones in 6 years. Never saw a real pair of Evisu Japanese blues..a couple pair of euro Evius's.
That Japanese pot at 18:48 is a Donabe. They are clay pots that are made to stand high heat and are very versatile cooking vessels. They sell for quite a bit of money, in fact I found one on Etsy that looks like this one, except the design on the lid is a little different. That one is listed at 79.99 (no chip) with free shipping. New you can't get them under $ 100.00. I am not sure if I am allowed to post links here, or I would have posted one. I found one at Goodwill a while ago for a good price, but haven't sold it at this point. I just love those things, can't let them go.

Danni, I think you should shop the antique shops to find higher dollar items. The Crazy Lamp Lady is spending crazy money on high dollar items.
Spending crazy money is not something the average reseller is able to do. I try to show what anyone can go out and buy and resell so that others can really learn. I do go to antique stores and show and teach when I do ;-)

I think the blue and white pitcher was Willow wear, not Blue Onion. Blue Onion has a blue and white floral design with wide open white spaces. I saw the bridge that is part of the Willow ware pattern as you turned the pitcher. I grew up with both and love them dearly.

Those prices are outrageous. I wouldn't buy hardly anything there. Here in California our thrift store prices would have been half those for most of those items. That is why Savers is the one thrift store I avoid. They don't Save you anything. They should be called Spenders. I don't know how you make a good profit with those prices.
