  • Euphorbia obesa succulent plants will always be one of my favorites. They're beautiful, unusual, low maintenance plants I happened to catch one of my girls and my boy in flower at the same time today. I show you how to ID the gender of the plant based on the flower, we'll do some pollination, and I'll show you what the seed pods look like. Obesas are also super fun to grow from seed - highly recommended! And did I mention that they're spineless? What's not to love about them??

Ha! I love that one too. I think it was sold as "pretty ugly" or something like that. It's still alive today and it has grown a bit since this video was recorded.

Nice video, Jenny. This is probably my favourite Euphorbia, just awesome looking. Growing them from seed for the first time too and you’re right, they’re growing pretty fast! Thank you for sharing with us, have a wonderful day from Edith & myself and happy growing 🌵☀️🌺🌼🌸🏜

Thank you so much, Daz! It is probably my favorite Euphorbia as well. It's beauty and strangeness will never grow old. Isn't it cool how fast the seedlings grow compared to cactus? It makes them all the more fun and fascinating. I hope you and Edith are having a wonderful day/night/morning! ~Jenny & Cookie

Thank you so much, Vane! Aren't they just so easy to get obsessed about? Such unusual, beautiful plants. I wonder if you got some female and male plants... if you can pollinate them and get some seed, they are quite fun to grow!

Are all obesa rusty or just certain types?

    • @cookiescacti

Good question... I don't know! I see a mix in my Obesa. I'm not sure what caused it. Do you like the rusty look?
