@@The3rdRail indeed. They are the pride of the collection and still running happily around the track. Although I have more modern locs these always will be special.
I love the racket! I have an F800 from 1957 (BR01) and it sounds the same. It's easily the most powerful of my dad's old collection. I reckon it could pull 20 tin passenger cars with no problems.
I was right! Br 44! Always love those huge german locomotives... and the box art from the 60s is Amazing! Keep making those Video's! Greetings from the Netherlands.
Amazingly beautiful, two of the best locomotives from the sixties. This is one of your videos that I have enjoyed most. Keep going. Thanks from Costa Rica.
Great video of a couple of beauties !!! I have a Märklin 3048: DB BR 01 and the tin plate DB coaches as well, and am waiting for Märklin 3084: DB BR 050 082-7 to arrive to pull my vintage freight train...
I have a few of the old DB 01 series. They have always been a favorite of mine. I also love the Suisse 6/6, 4/4 and the E-94 class locos. All are heavy tin. Question, if you have been oiling the running gear, and you still get "gear stutter", Is it time to replace them? It's like they are locking up. Thanks!
Hi, difficult to answer without having seen the loco for myself. I'd inspect the gears and check their state, it would take 24/7 use over many years for them to have to be replaced on anything with metal gears. If something locks up, it is more likely to be a maintenance issue, a piece of debris stuck between some teeth on one of the gears for example. On locomotives with valve gear, the wheels might be out of quarter, you can see if this is happening by removing the rods and run the loco, If the problem goes away, your wheels are out of quarter, this would be a difficult repair... This usually happens if someone tried to turn the wheel manually with too much pressure, loosening one of the wheels from its bearing. It could also be caused by a shock or a fall. I'd start with a thorough gear inspection...
I have a silly question: would it be safer to slightly incline the curves, like in real life, so to avoid the train derailing? I just recently restarted the hobby after a 30 years pause, and I'm scared to drive fast in curves. Thanks, I really like your videos.
I am not sure it would make a great deal of difference, but that's only my gut feeling... I think leaving space between the track and the edge of the table might be far more effective if you are a racing driver 🙂 Thanks for the visit!
Beautiful, two big Märklin classic steamer from the 60`s

you have a nice voice to listen too.
you are too kind 🙏
I have about 30 of these old Marklin engines, and I don't want to exchange them for contemporary digital ones.
they are yours, you do what you want 👍
I have literally those first two locomotives. They where from my grandfather. All the boxes are there as well.
Cool...

Thank you! 👍 Glad you enjoyed it. Have a good weekend!
That 2-10-0 engine is really humming along, I can hear the gears making a lovely sound. The one I have sounds the same at high speeds.
it is a good engine indeed. Thanks for the visit! much appreciated.
Beautiful, on my list😁 majestic and great to see running in all its splendor!
They are good fun, some of the "undestructible" legends...
Thank ou for another first class video.

Schöne alte Modelle hast du uns in Aktion gezeigt. Schönes Filmchen.
Thanks you very much, glad you enjoyed my classics.
Cool nostalgic layout 👌👍🤩
Спасибо большое! Счастливо!
Thye’re really quiet! I was expecting a lot of buzzing noises from the motor but it seems that you’ve kept them in perfect condition!
Thanks a lot! Maintenance, maintenace and maintenance are all you need :)
I really need a BR44 ;)
easy to pick up... pig to service...
@@The3rdRail That's true. Allthough they are not cheap.
@@Romin.777 if you are happy with a bit of patina and no box, the prices go down quickly.
@@The3rdRail I like patina and boxes are a nice added bonus but not a must in my case. :))
Very nice / lover the noice ;-)
Thanks!
I had a similar layout. All my wires ran below the platform. Is yours just a temporary display? This sure brings back memories.
Have a look at the channel description 😉 Glad the video bring a few memories back. Thanks for the visit!
