    I have 7 Spypoint products, 2 cell link and 5 link micro. Only one gave me a problem and customer service replaced it within 10 days of my first email to them. Totally satisfied. Operator error is most often the problem (IMHO) and choosing the wrong carrier for the area where the camera will be hung.

      Thank you for your input, Terry. Cell carrier also made a HUGE difference for us. Thank you for sharing your experience with these cameras!

    I bought this thing and it’s making me crazy. It took me a week to get it set up downloading the programs into their microSD etc. probably cause I’m over 40. But just today I’ve gotten over 20 SPYPOINT sent you a photo and then I go to the app and nothing is there. Company said it’s installation problem because I installed it in the field with shadows that move. I said I can’t control the sun they said move it to someplace else. I’m very frustrated with this unit. They keep saying “you need to have the unit with you so we can diagnose the problem”. I told them that it’s a 52 mile drive to go get it and I can’t be running back-and-forth. I’m pretty frustrated.

    • @ReviewThisThing

      I can definitely see how that would be frustrating!!!

    Had a Link Micro(original non-LTE ver.) for a year now and worked good once you find the optimized settings for your area. Had to install an extended antenna in a poor signal area to get 2 bars.
    Then after a while the Link Micro-S LTE came out and bought that and it worked great. Upgraded both cameras firmware one time each with success and added the LIT-10 power pack to the LinkMicro.
    The latest firmware (1.17.12-178 as I write this) has disabled both cameras! The Link Micro-S was upgraded locally by me and the Link Micro update pushed out remotely by Spypoint tech support. Neither camera worked after that firmware update. The Link Micro-S version has been replaced by Spypoint. Link Micro is still dead in the field(to be picked up)They claim that firmware 1.17.12-178 is OK. My experience tells otherwise. Tech support depends on who you get (used the online Chat feature)
    So don't upgrade the firmware on these cameras unless you are having functioning issues is my advice!

      @ReviewThisThing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, these run off AT&T or Verizon but aren’t connected to your cell phone plan. It’s a different plan altogether. SO, you just need to be able to get one of those to work.

  • @juanpaulr
    @juanpaulr 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have 7 of these spypoints and they have been doing a very good job. Temperature reading are pretty much way off and are different on each one. I use the Verizon trail cam because I know I get cell service in my phone out there. Even at one of my trail cams that gets 25% cell it still is able to send photos and the cell signal changes through out the day but no less than 25%

    STAY AWAY FROM THESE CAMERAS! I can't speak on other Spy points, although I've heard horror stories. Me and a buddy decided to give them a try. I brought 2, he bought 3. My first one worked for 2 weeks. Wont accept the firmware update... the same goes for my buddys camera. The 2nd one of mine won't transmit photos fresh out of the box either. Probably due to it not accepting the firmware update either. Pure trash. Should've went with Moultrie or Spartan. Have friends and relatives who run both and zero issues. No matter what brand I suggest a 12v external battery

      I have three SpyPoint Micro-Link-LTEs and they all work decent enough. I've updated the firmware on them all and they've been very decent cameras. The main issue I have is the delay between pictures is too long and not adjustable. This should be an adjustable option on all trail cameras. The motion sensor and trigger are both good but there's a tradeoff between the trigger's Fast and sometimes blurry pictures and Optimal and better pictures but slower trigger. I've been using this with a Browning camera and the Browning is a better camera (except it doesn't do cellular), although much more expensive so it should be.

    • @joechomko9522
      @joechomko9522 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RARufus there is a delay in your settings, I think it's 10 seconds all the way up to 30 minutes. Out of the box is preset on 1 minute.

    • @RARufus
      @RARufus 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@joechomko9522 Yes you're absolutely right, there is a delay setting. I had it set to "Instant" but it would still wait at least one minute before it took another picture. I'll play around with it some more and see what I get. I hadn't changed it since the last firmware update so maybe it's fixed now.

      I was going to try to attach some pics but can’t seem to find that option. They get a bit less clear right before/after they switch to/from night mode but they’re still decent. Like we’ve said, the pics that come across aren’t as high quality as the HD version in general.

    Garbage products. I have 4 Cell Links, 2 of the cameras with cell built in and 6 of their cables. The first cable I installed came apart. The locking device completely separated from the cable. The cell links routinely have to be cleaned out as spiders, ants, etc are all setting up nests. Hard to believe how many ants and ant eggs can fit into a cell link. Not to mention the cameras just stop working and their support insists its a long fromat issue, when explicity told all cards are of the proper standard and were all long formated. The support team of this company is more a sabotague team. I would never recommend this product, nor company to anyone.
