- Elon #Musk hosted #Argentine President Javier #Milei on Friday at #Tesla's #Austin plant. The libertarian president, who is visiting the United States for four days, was invited by the tech billionaire to tour the car plant. Milei and Musk - who share a brash personality-driven style and distaste for government overreach - have expressed mutual admiration.
Milei will pitch investing in Argentina to #Apple, #Alphabet and #Meta this week in California, building on an unprecedented wave of international recognition in a bid to fortify his political strength at home.
The libertarian economist’s meetings with Tim Cook, Sundar #Pichai and Mark #Zuckerberg during a 36-hour window would be on a wish list for almost any leader. But they’re particularly welcome for Milei, who badly needs foreign investment to help turn around an economy battling annual inflation near 300% and a worsening recession. It’s also an A-list dance card none of his recent predecessors could score, elevating his profile at home.

Christians need to pray that Argentina is very successful. The USA is slowly crumbling.
I lived in Poland in the 90's and it takes years to see any positive financial outcomes of switching from socialism to free market. Especially for everyday people at the very bottom. It is discouraging for those unable to see beyond the next month of their life.
On top of that Argentina has an issue of drug cartels smuggling cocaine and marijuana from Bolivia and Paraguay right through the Argentinian borders and waterways.
I feel like Milei has made a mistake when he cut social programs long before freeing people from taxes and other government burdens. Now people are still stuck with crippling laws and taxes while having no benefits and jobs.

There were.. we call them "auditorias" but I think this doesnt translate to "auditions" to make sure the money was going to the people, instead he found out there was a shit ton of money going into "black boxes" of politicians from the previous goverment like Juan Grabois who is a Maduro's supporter, we are yet to see where all that money went. Also there were fake "comederos" (this is like places were people came to eat) that had never existed, so some peronist militant would get the money and then do whatever, about 40% of them were totally bs. But the actual progams like Universal child care and "alimentar" card were doubled in founds. The thing is.. we are heading towards 6 months of goverment, and he hasnt been able to pass a single law through congress.. We all know, that they know.. that if his plans works... old politics will permantly retire. Peronists are trying way too hard. And yes, they are the so called socialists, there are other peronists that dont identify as socialist, its kind o confusing but yeah... we goin through it atm.
