My Father took me to see this movie at the Fairlawn Theatre in North Toronto. I would have been all of 4 yrs. old. I still remember that time. Thanks Dad!
I was a young merchant seaman when I saw this in New Zealand, around 1962. Auckland, I think. It was an awesome movie! Never forgotten. Cinerama was a brilliant process. I saw How the West Was Won in Sydney in 1962 also and sadly, that was the last Cinerama movie. There were more so-called Cinerama movies but they were no such thing! Ultra Panavision 70 and such. Cinerama had so much potential, it is sadly missed!
I do not know how to understand, good or bad. It is good to simulate this on the small screen, but it shows how much you got for your tickets in the Theaters
@richard upton The Narration wasn't cheesy, it was just in a somewhat dated style. And those actors weren't professional. Think as this as a Travelogue and a Time Capsule.
I was 16 when I saw this film at the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood. Wonderful. I never forgot it.

in this day and age , with all our technology , why can't Cinerama be brought back?
( at Cinerama in Seattle, watched "The Wind Rises", Miyazaki's final anime )
Saw it in its East Coast premiere at the Roxy in new York.

@richard upton In what way?
@@thrummer1953 just the naration was very cheesy, the acting wasnt great, the situations they found themselves in were just a bit odd.
