Back in November 2021 I was invited to Dubai to create a new video for my channel. However I saw this as an opportunity to create something completely different to anything I had ever done before. A short film style travel video.
Something I had been wanting to make for so long but never had he right opportunity until this trip. It definitely tested everything I knew and pushed myself and the team to the limits to capture and prepare everything we needed.
With traditional B roll travel videos usually you plan a little and then shoot what ever happens and put it together later when you get home but the nature of this film was much different. If anything fell out of place
or didn't work out for the story on the day we would have had to cancel the concept and go with a plan B. With so many variables and unforeseen events that could go wrong and stop this film from coming to life eg. actors pulling out, chasing day light to name a few, It was an incredibly challenging experience to keep the end goal staying a float.
But as a team we worked very hard together to make sure this vision could come to life, as difficult and challenging as it was, It ended up being the most rewarding thing I've ever made.

I'm so happy to finally see this project go live after so long. Something very different then I've ever made before, Obviously I'm no Steven Spielberg haha, But It was an awesome experience jumping into this type of video and making it into a fun mix of travel video in combination with film style acting. A good edit is the one which you don’t notice. When you don’t feel the cuts and transitions, that is when the edit is actually a good one. It should all feel like a continuous shot going on. That's the perfection of Ben's work.....😇🥰❤️

This was something I was super careful of, very well said and its such an important thing!
i won’t agree with u on the narrative part of editing, it was not good , disconnecting .. the cuts were not at all invisible and the dialogue parts were very amateurishly edited.
Imagine what this fella would have done, had you given him a 100 grand $ budget to shoot

Legend! You can only see such immersive travel films on Benn TK's channel. It's quite different from TV movies by telling a story from a creator's perspective and skills. Hats off to Benn and every creator behind this awesome film. It definitely would make one of the best city commercials for Dubai, by the way. We enjoyed it so much!

So just appreciate the cinematography and move on. Don't focus more on script was good, acting was bad and etc etc.
@@robustk1220 this is not anything negative, i’m just sharing my honest feedback and its very important to do so in the creator community. healthy criticism is a very positive thing. the cinematography and his transition edits were awesome in this video. i just pointed out new things from the narrative perspective which he tried to incorporate. A beautiful concept unlike most other travel films❤️ and all that executed soo soo beautifully! The cuts and transitions were so clean and seamless. So refreshing to see this movie like approach. I can only imagine how much of a hassle it must have been to handle the whole idea specially when it covers the entire city. And I’m glad you got to shoot this is November, or else the desert would have been much more harsh with you.
Also, you cant comprehend how happy I am you brought up the topic of ‘authentic travelling’. Having grown up here, I always felt sad our how the tourists would only visit the mainstream glowy main city attractions, and call it a ‘TRIP’. People need to see the Old Dubai area and explore the authentic traditional part of the city too

Thanks brother! Most things were payed for as it was a Collaboration with the Tourism board. and payment for content also which helped for the time it took to make.

Absolutely loved the video, every part of it was amazing and I could see the work put into each frame. Loved the transitions the most, those were the best seamless transitions I've seen. As another commenter said, a good video is one that you don't realize has crazy editing. Only when you take a step back and pause the video, think about the shots, do you realize the amount of work put into everything. Also love the 25 min video, made it really interesting and gave time to have a proper storyline. Keep it up, and can't wait to see more like this in the near future!

All I can say is WOW Such a spectacular Video. So much time spent putting this masterpiece together. It shows. Amazing. The best story telling I have seen. At the same time showing all the great things about the UAE (Dubai)
