Unfortunately though, they don't. The trend nowadays is to listen to competition winners and see why the winners won, and hence the similar quality between all of them, the tarnished prefect commercial quality sound. 20th century lyricism is long gone.
I have known Moiseiwitsch's playing since I was 5 - we had his Rach 2, Grieg & Schumann - I have never stopped loving his performances. This is new to me and I am in amazement. So many insights, wonderful little surprises, perfection in tempo and technique. This performance may be equaled but not surpassed.
I remember recording the Preludes from a radio broadcast in the early 1980s. It was the first and last time I heard the name Benno Moiseiwitsch, until today. The power of this interpretation remains unsurpassed to me.
@@dzordzszs ah, that explains everything. My adoption father wasn't too fair and kind. But, because of all the trauma I've become the greatest pianist alive. After my last suicide attempt I have met Robert Schumann, and he told me that it is my goal to record Schumann Carnaval. I will sell 50 vinyl LP's for 60 euro (will donate to charity). I will be nothing like you have ever heard before, because it is Robert's vision and madness. A little Absinthe doesn't hurt. Sleep well dzordzszszzzzzzzzzz
Every young aspiring pianist should listen to this recording.

lucky you
Best experience ever with preludes! Thank you so much!
You can sense the greatness of an artist from his/her attempt to probe the depths of a piece and let us see other interesting interpretations, his making things sound easy to play (when they are actually not), and bringing out dynamic contrasts (here, his many ppp's, e.g. end of #6, 20 and 21, making us wonder how soft he can go). I shall listen to this great Master again and again. Immense thanks for sharing this treasure trove.
This is brilliant! His dynamic control is simply amazing!

Wonderfully sensitive playing! It has everything - superb control of dynamics (no.15), imagination and controlled virtuosity.
nobody treats the first one that way, what artistry
I did without knowing this recording.
@@michieldpianoOk bro

Moiseiwitsch at his most spontaneous...inspired in top form.
Number 12 is really a masterpiece in this execution, simply extraordinary!

FABULOUS.
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
His rhythm!
Che tocco meraviglioso,divino!
The first prelude is really well executed....agitated but espressive and passionate, with the melody only on the thumb.
Бездна вкуса, потрясающая гармония, соразмерность во всём: фразировке, динамике, педали. Великий мастер!
