what were your settings at 01:00? which power amp and speaker are you using? your sound is phenomenal, but I can't seem to replicate it with my e530 and my strat
Looks like the preamp is going straight into the Twonotes Torpedo C.A.B. M+., which is an impulse response loader and virtual cab/mic simulator. It also has poweramp simulation but I don’t think it’s being used here.
Great sound yeahh! Do you use only engl preamp in this video? Have you connected the guitar to the preamp and the audio interface or do you also use Torpeto or another cabinet simulator with impulse responses?
Hey! Did you send signal from E530 right to TN with poweramp section and pc, or did you plug in cabinet into TN to take the load during recording? Thank you! Great tones!
@@loodybensh Thank you! I have also this TN but i was not sure, because they recommend connecting cabinet to it when you record tube amp. Or is it only when you have full amp, not jist preamp?
Hi, I've had the preamp for a few months and am having trouble getting it to work. It's just too quiet, no matter how I turn the rear line level knob. I intended to use it for recording - i.e. without an amplifier, connected directly to the interface (or rather patchbay). I use a SansAmp for bass in the same way, which works perfectly. Can you think of where the problem may be - or rather what I'm doing wrong? Alex
Hi, Actually I felt something similar, It’s more quiet than other preamps. I put all the way up the volume knob on the front panel, and I set to 0db on the back panel knob. If that doesn’t work for you, You can tweak the gain on audio interface. Or you should try to use the ‘FREQUENCY COMPENSATED LINE OUTPUT’ on the back panel. They say that these outputs are for the direct output for recording device.
@@loodybensh Thanks for the answer! There's a German guy who says exactly the opposite - in particular, don't use the 'FREQUENCY COMPENSATED LINE OUTPUT'. (th-cam.com/video/6vU5RH7byVQ/w-d-xo.html) And I also can turn the back panel knob however I want - it doesn't change anything. I've already written to ENGL support - the lovely people don't seem to know anything about their devices themselves. It was more advice for blondes than technical help. Well - somehow I have to crack the nut... Something else - I watched your music videos. They're fierce! Play on bro!
Just put clean boost (i use MXR CAE clean boost/buffer) in the effects loop of Engl E530 preamp. It adds clean volume, clears the signal, and it becomes loud and clear. I had amazing results by adding Fender Engager boost pedal in the effects loop of Engl E530. Not only Fender Engager boost has clean level boost, but also it has +15 db of treble, middle and bass boost/cut, so you can really shape you sound. There is also toggle switch in the middle frequency department which alows you to choose between 400 hz and 800 hz boost or cut (upper or lower midds). Amazing pedal (Fender Engager boost) in the effects loop of Engl, from personal experience.
Amazing demo and playing skills! I have the same Engl preamp and with only two ecc83 preamp tubes Engl E530 provides pleanty enough gain for all sort of playing styles, especially metal. Can you tell me what IR did you use in your Two Notes Cab M+ cab loader? 🤘
WOW. Incredible mastery of the instrument.
Came for the preamp; stayed for the playing.
That's some good playing man!
Damn, incredible sound and playing. I have a fireball and I’ve been seeking a more mid-forward tone and this is definitely it
Wow, I came for the demo and stayed for the playing. Incredible! Liked and subbed.
Killer playing and I like all the tones!
Best sounding ENGL for the money 😉. Love the clarity and the musical midrange of it. Easy to dail in.

Which was the Bodom riff you were talking about?
These engl pre's are solid beast
I own one of these and yes it sounds this good but, HOLY. SHIT. Your ability to play does that thing so much justice. Excellent demo!
What do you when you record with it ?
Great, wonderful playing and demo. Fantastic SRV blues sound and licks. I want, no I need one!
Simply great and awesome! Which output did you use from the preamp to the cab loader?

Who's shredding here? Amazing!
I haven't used my E530 but damn the Jake E. Lee stuff sounds very good trough this. Gonna dust of mine and have some fun this weekend.
Were you using any of the cab m power amp Sims? Also what cab did you use? Great tone
Yes I’ve used Engl vsb 412 cab and of course I’ve turned on power amp sim too. I’ve used 6l6 triode

"in level" what is in your cab m+?
oh hell yeah!! awsome
Do you used it with power amp or straight to DAW? Amazing sound.
No power amp but cab m+ has power amp simulator
Nice
Is the E530 what you used to record the guitar on your ep's? the sound is kinda similar.
Hi! I used HX Stomp for my latest EP 🔥
would you say this preamp is voiced more like a rectifier or a mark series?
Definitely Mark series
Oh yeah!
