I turned 20 in 1980. Got married for the first time in ‘85. I miss how we used to dress. When we went out, we all dressed well. “Sharp Dressed Man” was my mantra. I guess that’s why I love Italy so much, even casual they are well dressed. I remember being at clubs and everything would stop when the videos “Beat It”, “Billy Jean”, and “Thriller” would come on, and everyone was trying to Moonwalk. “Miami Vice” ruled the airwaves, and set the standards for both how men dressed and the future of cop shows.

JUNE 28: Legendary NY Rap group PUBLIC ENEMY releases their seminal sophomore lp, "IT TAKES A NATION OF MILLIONS TO HOLD US BACK" on DEF JAM/CBS records. The album contains hits such as, "BRING THE NOISE", "DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE", "NIGHT OF THE LIVING BASEHEADS", "BLACK STEEL IN THE HOUR OF CHAOS", and "REBEL WITHOUT A PAUSE". AUGUST 6: MTV employee/program director TED DEMME produces and premieres the classic video show, "YO! MTV RAPS". The program, hosted by ex graffiti artist/personality Fred Braithwaite p/k/a FAB 5 FREDDY, and later, DR. DRE and ED LOVER, played a significant role in having Hip-Hop culture spread among viewers/listeners in suburban areas and around the world; Outside of primary Hip-Hop audiences. DECEMBER: TOMMY MOTTOLA, then president of Sony Music/Columbia Records, signs an 18 year old former background singer/aspiring solo artist MARIAH CAREY to a major record deal. She would release her debut lp two years later and go on to become a legendary Pop/R&B superstar.

This was also the year that cracks started to show in rock-and-roll. Remember White Lion, and Warrant? Guns-n-Roses and Skid Row tried to save it, but their efforts were in vain. This was also the year that Mr. Big formed as a band, and they would go on to put the last nail in the coffin of metal rock and glam rock.

I actually cried when Rush Limbaugh died. True American.
The year I graduated from high school! And I was not worried about my freedoms being taken away yet.
🎶Remember the good ol' 1980's, when things were so uncomplicated? I wish I could go back there again, and everything would be the same...🎶 -ELO "Ticket to the Moon" 😁

Please everyone, let the ads run on videos you like, don't skip. Great way to help content provider.
How about you watch them for all of us lol?
Do not do DRUG's
I don't mind if the ads are helping to monetize people, but you have to remember, the ads are just like TV ads; there are certain ones that are annoying.
Some of the Tik-Tok ones for ex.
The highlight of the 80s for me was Reagans ‘ tear down this wall speech’ and heavy metal… The joy seemed to end with grunge and pres. Bush.
Ok, but lets stick to the year at hand...Not 1987 .
The Good ol days. When People were more personable. No Stupid Texting. Truly believe. The Cell phone brought us further apart. I Text my Kids. I dont hear nothing from them till they need something. They think. Im here just to be a credit union. They're fired !! They're FIRED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1988 is my favorite year
This is my favorite era when people actually cared about each other, no Instagram or social media, good times now I don’t recognize this world now
July 30 1988
The month day and year I was boring God bless everyone
Man forget the internet and technology altogether. I'd give anything to go back to the 80s. Who still holds the title of the best decade!!!

A great year for Horror movie sequels: Halloween 4, Friday the 13th Part 7, A Nightmare On Elm Street Part 4, Hellbound Hellraiser II, Phantasm II and the first in a line of Chucky movies in Child's Play.
I was into tesla lol... Not the car, not the rocket, not the scientist. 🎶 🎸
I wish someone would put the nail in the coffin of hip hop and rap

Record company's executive are the ones that change the music industry they do what ever they want. All of those bands made more albums but they never got any air time because radio stations were told not to play them. I know first hand how dirty they are.

This year in England we had the dreadful 'Piper Alpha' oil-rig disaster, and the awful Clapham Common train accident, Liverpool were runaway league champions, Wimbledon, against all odds, won the F.A. Cup, Luton Town were surprising League Cup winners. And 'all-day' drinking in Public Houses was introduced!

I was 42, and I bought my second home in texas that year.
I remember smoking on flights.
I remember that by 1988, records were pretty much phased out at many department stores in favor of cassettes. And of course, CD's were slowly starting to gain traction (even though they had been out since 1982), and many stores had a small but growing CD section
It now seems that vinyl LPs are making a comeback.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit was such a technical (mostly in the physical/props sense alongside fantastic acting) achievement people are still today asking how it was done.
